have no place to go by sassy
Beauté Model Management, Friday, May 10th; Treat yourself to a day of shopping. Make a scene this spring with zany, bold, and eye-bogglingly patterned shirts.... or stick with basics if you're not feeling color.
I glanced at the reflection of myself in the mirror in front of me, smirking when a loud been came from out the dressing room I was in. Tristan was a popular guy so I wasn't surprised that his phone kept ringing to the point it was almost annoying. "Which one is it?" I said and noticed his thoughtful expression, making him jump a little as I walked out wearing a suit. I adjusted the tie while looking in the mirror, a bigger one this time, my eyes meeting his for a second and making me grin. I was right, it was from one of his women.
"The American one," He replied, putting it back in his pocket. "You look like a penguin in that one," He said honestly, sounding a lot like he was really my boyfriend.
"I didn't realize I was trying to impress you," I shot him a cocky grin before walking back into the dressing room and shrugging the blazer off, then taking off the pants quickly but leaving the shirt on because I liked that one. Being a model gave you super useful skills, like getting naked and dressed again at the speed of sound.
"You're going to break my heart one of these days." He laughed.
I smirked and rolled my eyes as I grabbed the other suit, "Are you bringing her? Or one of the others?" I asked, wondering who I'd bring myself. More like if, I didn't have all Tristan's options, for me was either going with Celeste or going solo.
"To Lagerfeld party next month?" He asked back then kept quiet for a few moments while I tied a black tie around my neck, fixing the knot so that it looked perfect. My guess on my friend's silence was, though, that, if I knew him, he was now pondering which one of the three girls was better to pick. "No."
I walked back out and the sales girl straightened her posture a little, messing with my tie, pushing it to the side to straighten it out again. "Can I get you anything else, Mr. Lindsell?" She stared at me wide eyed, but I wasn't impressed. She wasn't even hot. "You'd look great in the navy Armani we just got in."
"I'll try that one too." I said quietly as I kept my eyes on my own reflection, ignoring her and smirking at Tristan instead when she disappeared. "What about this one?"
He looked at me as I turned in his direction, his eyes scanning my body and leaving me grinning wide. No wonder why all the models fell at his feet, if he had that intense look every time he had to cast a girl. "It works if you have to go to a funeral."
I groaned, shaking my head, "The more suits you turn down the longer you'll have to stay here." I reminded him.
"This is fucking torture, you're worse than a girl." He ran his hands through his hair but smirked. I knew he hated shopping, lucky him he had an assistant with an amazing sense of style, so he went around looking as if he had just popped out of the cover of gq. And he wasn't even a model.
"If I were a girl you wouldn't be here." I smirked back at him before I spun on my heels to pay attention to myself again. I wasn't exactly vein, I just liked being well dressed. I noticed him stared at me with an expression of amusement mixed with annoyance and I raised one eyebrow at him, "It's a no?"
"As I said, unless you want to find yourself a widow, no." His smirk went back in place and I couldn't help laughing. "The navy Armani will make you look great instead." He added as he made a perfect imitation on the poor sales girl who was mia at the moment, only making me laugh louder. What did they say? You love then ones who make you laugh.
I walked over him and took a seat next to him, turning my head in his direction, "Does it mean you'll take me to the party instead of one of the harem girls?" I smirked.
"Does it mean you'll put out at the end of the night?" Tristan asked with a serious face before breaking into a grin, both of us noticing the girl returning, the navy suit in her arms and its long legs making her look smaller than a dwarf.
"I never kiss on the first date," I joked back and stood up, taking the suit from the girl.
Her eyes bounced back and forth between us, a grin on my friend's lips, "I don't know about that handsome. You seem to be forgetting how wild you get after a few cosmos..."
"Shut it," I replied and walked back into the dressing room. I peeled the previous suit off, listening carefully to what was happening outside since I knew that Tristan was about to come out with one something just to torture the poor girl.
"The blue will make his eyes just dreamy." And there it was, just like I expected.
"Can I get you anything else?"
"We're fine," He replied, leaving me shaking my head as I wore the navy suit. "So I have a harem, huh?" He asked after a few moments of silence.
"Are you denying it?" I asked back from inside the dressing room, tucking the shirt into the pants before zipping them up.
"No... but I'm curious what you call your barely girlfriends."
I laughed again at his choice of word, walking out and adjusting the sleeves, "Barely girlfriends?"
"A little more than a one night stand, but never make it past a week or am I wrong?" He asked and glanced at the suit, "I hate to admit it, but the midget sales girl was right and that suit looks great on you. The harem will definitely be staying home because I'm taking you."
I laughed again, not sure about what I was going to comment first. That was the thing I liked about Tristan, time passed easily, laughs were something never missing and sometimes we were even able to have serious conversations too. Once in a blue moon, but still. "For being someone who hates shopping you picked a nice blazer." I said instead, letting my eyes study the piece of clothing that fit him perfectly.
He glanced down at himself before looking back at me with a smug smirk on his face, "I doesn't look bad, but I'm not sure if I can top you in that suit."
"Careful with what you say, you're going to give the poor sales girl a heart attack." I grinned as I walked over him, both of us staring at the reflection of ourselves in the mirror. "What does make you think I'd come with you?" I asked instead, going back to the previous subject and not realizing that my sentence sounded as bad as him.
"We both know I'd be a better company than..." He trailed off, shooting me a questioning look, "Rose? Azure?" He tried.
"Her name is Celeste." I smirked as I shook my head.
He just shrugged, buttoning then unbuttoning the blazer as if he was trying to decide how he liked it better. "I remembered that she had a color name." He paused to turn his head in my direction and grinned at me, "I'm surprised you remember her name yourself. How long have you been seeing her now? A week? Maybe it's time to move on and pick a new girl."
I didn't even pretend to be offended, even though he was making me sound pretty awful. My girls didn't last a week, but they barely made it to a month, so I could see where he was coming from. "Mind to share one of yours?" I asked instead, grinning from ear to ear. I wasn't sure about how his harem worked, if the girls could sleep with other guys or it was an exclusive relationship with Tristan in a fucked way.
"I don't know I might get jealous."
"Of me I hope." I said back as I kept my eyes on myself, or I'd end up laughing again.
"Definitely," Tristan grinned. "You know, I think your sister is jealous of you."
I let out a chuckle, "Obviously, but why do you say that?"
He seemed lost in a thought for a moment, his eyes losing focus like they did every time he was deep in his mind. "She asked why I like you, but not her," He grinned wide as my expression matched his.
That was typical of Chloe, she wanted everyone to like her and she refuse to believe that there could be even a single human being on earth who was able to resist her charm, or supposed one. "Did you tell her it's because she's so awful?" I asked and my smirk didn't fade even though I was mentally taking note of kicking my sister's ass since I thought I had made it clear that she had to stay away from Tristan. I loved the man, for how gay it could sound, but I knew how he treated women. I didn't judge him for that, still I didn't want him around my sister.
He laughed and shook his head while still smirking, "I tried, but then she told me to stop waiting around for you because I wasn't your type..."
We both were cracking up as the sales girl returned, licking her lips at me and making me cringe a little. She needed to shave. "That suit is perfect on you," She said with a little drool spilling out of the corners of her mouth. "Should I start ringing you up? Bill the agency?"
"Yes," I said simply.
Silence fell and I felt her eyes on my, but if she expected me to look at her? She could wait forever. "Okay," She said finally and left.
"I swear," Tristan shook his head, watching her leave. "It's like I don't even exist when we're together."
I laughed again and ran a hand through my hair, I got a lot of attention from girls but he did just as much. "Come on, you're the one dating three girls."
"You know that new photographer? Lumen?" He asked instead and waited for me to nod. "I asked her out at your parents brunch. Taking her to dinner."
"Thinking of expanding the harem?" I raised a brow and smirked.
"According to your sister, I'm still waiting on you..." He trailed off and faked a pout.
I broke into another laugh, elbowing him, "Oh c'mon, don't give me that face, you know it's my weakness." I grinned at him, thinking that the saying bros before hoes was true. Was it even a saying?
"That doesn't make me feel any better." He shook his head as his pout turned into a straight line, "Not the answer I was hoping for."
"When we'll both hit our thirties you'll be done waiting." I kept grinning, glancing at him before walking back into the dressing room.
"I can already hear your sister telling me that she had told me so." He said from the other side of the curtain, while I took off the suit to get back into my clothes.
I kept silent for a while, studying myself in the mirror as I zipped up my jeans before adjusting my shirt, "Why are we even talking about my sister? Is she still mad over you not casting her?" I asked, wondering if Chloe was just playing one of her games to seduce Tristan.
"Probably." Came his response.
I pushed the velvet curtain to a side, looking at him with an eyebrow raised. "Do yourself a favor, stay away from her." I said seriously, not even wanting to think about the possibility of my awful sister making a move on him. That was the only way it could go, I couldn't really see Tristan hit on her, he already had enough girls to handle and he didn't seem to like her either.
"Consider it done." He said with a shrug, not really paying attention to me but taking off the blazer instead.
"You should get that one, it looks good on you." I changed the subject, not interested in digging further into the awful subject, "You could even convince Lumen to join the harem if you look that handsome."
"I don't know if it's what I want but I'll take it anyway." He grinned back at me, running his hand through his hair and giving it that just out of bed shape that got the girls crazy. Hell I wasn't completely immune to that either.
I shook my head, grabbing the suit from the dressing room and waiting for the smurf to show up again, "I really have no idea of how you can make that work." I said honestly, eyeing him.
"What?"
"The harem." I smirked. Part of me was almost jealous, he was living a dream, but that also seemed like he had a lot of work to do.
Tristan grinned slowly, "You make me feel like Hugh Hefner when you call it that."
"Well you sound like Hugh Hefner, juggling three girls at once," I laughed and shook my head.
"It's like you with your girls..." He trailed off and shrugged. "Nothing too serious, no real emotions. Just sex and a few dates every now and then."
"Except the part where there are three of them... and they all know about each other." I pointed out because three instead of one sounded really different to me, probably more complicated and more fun too. Tristan and I were both busy men, we took our job seriously and didn't have much time to lose on women, but where he was able to squeeze all his three girls into his schedule I couldn't because I had my little man to take care of.
"It's hard to explain, but it works," He said seriously. "Maybe I'll settle down one day and have a cute child that'll rival Gabriel, but until then..." He gave me another shrug when really, I couldn't picture him as a father.
I snorted, "No kid will ever be as cute as Gabe."
He grinned and eyed me, "I agree. If you're ever interested in getting him into modeling? You know where my office is."
I looked back at him, smirking a little, "I wouldn't joke about it, it's something that could happen."
He blinked his eyes at me, obviously surprised, "Please don't tell me you want to turn him into one of those awful baby models."
"You know me better than that." I said flatly but then thought about my boy and my smile went back in place. "He told me he wants to be a model."
"Not now I hope." He grinned back at me, "I wonder how he even got the idea." He teased me.
I ignored him as the sales girl appeared again and I gave her the suit without adding a word. "Cami told me that last time they went shopping he insisted on buying clothes like mine." I said to him, trying to not smirk like an idiot. It was impossible though, every time I talked about him I lit up.
He let out a laugh and shook his head, "If he's so much like you I wonder when he'll start to crush on me too."
"Hopefully he'll have a better taste." I said with a shrug, looking at my friend with an amused grin on my face. Truth was, I had an amazing taste instead, and I considered myself lucky to have such a good friend as Tristan.
"I don't know about that," Tristan shrugged, "Your ex?" He stopped short when I shot him an offlimits type look.
Cami was my ex, true, but more than that she was the mother of my child and for no reason I wanted anyone to bring her up, either to convince me that we should give ourselves another try or to compare her to other girls. "Are we finished here?" I asked instead and he nodded.
"We are... unless you're planning on taking the midget into a dressing room for a quickie," He joked, still holding his blazer and the few button ups while my purchases were already getting rung up and bagged.
I let out a laugh and shook my head, "I think I'll pass."
"Got a hot date with Celine tonight?" He grinned, saying her name wrong on purpose I was sure.
It wasn't the first time and it wouldn't be the last, in a few weeks she'd probably end up like all the other girls before her, forgotten. "Celeste," I corrected him without any looks passing my face, completely unfazed.
"Reminds me of Babar," He said with a smirk.
I shot my head in his direction and raised a brow, "What?"
"Babar, King of Elephants... you never read those books?" He asked and grabbed the slacks from off the chair, draping them over his arm.
"I think Gabe had one, but he wasn't too crazy about it..." I trailed off, wondering where it ended. Probably in Cami's apartment. "I didn't know you were into this kind of books." I added as I smirked at him.
"Do you read at all?" He teased back, not missing a beat.
"Does gq count?" I asked with a smirk, going along with his joke. If one of us got offended every time the other was a smartass? We'd be offended all the time.
He shrugged as we walked toward the counter where my bags were already waiting for me, "I think books for kids count more." He grinned back at me, setting his slacks, button ups and his blazer on the flat surface. Sure for being a guy who didn't like shopping he was doing a great job.
"Then I read a lot, Gabe loves falling asleep with the Petite Prince." I said and even though it was supposed to be a witty banter it came out more like a confession, my lips curving into a smile while I mentally counted how many days separated me from having my boy all for me again. I didn't know if it had something to do with becoming a dad so young, but I was completely crazy and obsessed with Gabe. He was my life.
He shot me an amused look, probably noticing my expression changing, "Wait one more year and he'll be the one reading you stories."
"He's already working on that." I said back proudly.
He looked at me for a few seconds, keeping silent, then shook his head, "I'll never get how you can be such a cheesy dad and a panties ripper at the same time."
I groaned, even thought I knew what he meant. I was a saint one week and a sinner the next one, but I was just a man and as long as my boy was my top priority I had nothing to be ashamed of. "Ugh those are two concepts that are very separate." I glanced at him and made a face before smirking, "You'll understand when you'll have a baby yourself."
"When I have a baby myself?" Tristan chuckled and shook his head, reacting exactly like I knew he would. This man always made really clear that he didn't want to have kids, but I was going to tease him anyway. Also, never say never. "Not gonna happen."
"That'll be $9,878," The girl ringing him up said with a cheerful smile, his eyes nearly bugged out of his head but he handed his AmEx over eventually. He had a good eye for expensive clothes, that was a fact. "Thank you Mr. Williams," She leaned into the counter after sliding his card, handing it back to him along with a slip of paper if I wasn't wrong.
"For paying the stores rent for the month? Welcome," He said as a chuckle left my mouth, the girl turning a slight shade of pink. He added a smile and she handed our bags without another word before we headed out of the store, Tristan stopping dead in his tracks as we got outside. "You didn't pay."
"The agency has an account on file," I said casually. It was something I got used to, it was just one of the perks of being a model.
He grinned, "Can we switch lives?"
"You take my modeling career and spend your day in tight Calvins while I judge models for a living?" I smirked, "I'll think about it."
"You'd get the harem you know," He added with a grin. "On the downside? You'd also have your sister harassing you."
I made a groaning noise while he grinned. I wasn't amused, at all.
"So she told me that you said I'm not good enough for her," He raised a brow and eyed me. "Am I a popular subject between you two?"
"Lately? You are." I said flatly, not liking the subject at all. It was ruining my shopping high.
"How so?" He asked quietly as his brow kept in place just like his eyes on my face. He looked curious.
I shrugged, tearing my eyes away from him as we walked, "She can't get over you not casting her and not liking her. As you might have noticed she thinks highly of herself, so..." I trailed off, making a mental note to talk again to Chloe.
"She told me she's a great model at least one million times." He said back, the grin evident in his tone.
"That she is, I'll give her that." I glanced at my friend, "She could be so much better if her crazy personal life didn't affect her reputation though."
"That's exactly my point and the reason why I won't hire her." He said seriously and I grinned a little since his tone had gone from casual and playful to business in a second flat.
I sighed, having a feeling that this wasn't going to end well, "She won't give up, trust me. She's stubborn and she thinks you're hot too....god save us." I muttered the last part under my breath, shaking my head.
"She almost sounds obsessed." He added as his voice went back to the previous tone.
I looked at him eventually and shot him a small grin, "If I were you? I'd be scared."

[omg they just slay me :33]
