"But Brae, you said last week that you would come! We're all about to leave." I hushed into my iPhone as I talked to Braden.
"I'm sorry babe, but I have work to do at the nightclub and it's f*cking Disneyland, which is kind of fruity."
I swallowed as I pouted, "But I love Disneyland…" I trailed off, "Can't you do this for me?" I placed my hand on my forehead, holding my head up.
"Sorry babe. I'll make it up to you." He said and hung up without another word…
It was days like these where I couldn't see what I loved about him so much. I knew he didn't like Disneyland, but he had promised that he would come with me this time… and of course at the last minute he changed his mind. It was hard not to see why my family didn't like him. Every time he did this to me, it broke my heart.
A knock on the door brought me out my daze as I jerked my head up and sniffled, seeing Ames Alere standing in the doorway, "Hey." I said quickly, hoping he didn't notice the stray tears coming out of my eyes.
"Hey, Cam said that they're all about to leave and if you were ready?" He said, taking a step forward.
I swallowed, shaking my head, "I think I'm going to skip out on this one… I have work to do anyways. You can tell them to go ahead."
He blinked his eyes at me, "You love Disneyland. Do I have to remind you all the times you dragged your family and had to buy minnie mouse ears each time?" He grinned making me smile.

"It's okay. Braden was supposed to come but he's got a bunch of things to do, so it's fine. I'll catch up on my blog."
He shook his head, "Come on, get up. I was going to stay back and do some work but we can both take a break from that. We can both use it."
"You don't have to do that Ames." I shrugged.
"But I want to. Now get up and let's go. We'll have fun, I promise."
I bit my lip, thinking about it. I knew it wouldn't hurt to go. I mean Ames was almost family… and these were all my friends going with me. I'm sure Braden wouldn't care…
"Okay." I bit my lip, grabbing my purse and walking out with him.
"God finally. Where's Braden?" Cam asked as she looked at Ames and I and he shrugged.
"He didn't want to come." Ames said simply as I looked down trying to not get upset at fact that he promised me he would come, yet backed out.
"Of course not…" Cam trailed off, not concealing her distaste for him in the slightest.
Ames shrugged, "No biggie! I'm replacing him." He winked and am as she shook her head, "Disneyland wooooo!" He yelled out, trying to make me smile.
Gabe's eyes widened as he looked up at him, "You're coming?!" He said incredibly surprised as Ames nodded.
"I decided I couldn't miss it! There are roller coasters to be ridden my friend." His eyes lit up as Ames zoomed him around as we all walked to our cars.
"Careful!!" Cam yelled out as he looked behind at her, "Don't be a party popper." He winked causing Gabe to giggle.
"Yeah Maman, no party poppers allowed!!" He yelled back in a joking manner.o
Cam narrowed her eyes at him and Ames gave her an apologetic look, "Oops!"
I shook my head, grinning. Someone would have to be incredibly upset to not laugh at the way Ames was. Somehow he always managed to make me smile, no matter what…
"You're a bad influence." I teased him.
"That I am." He said, not denying it at all.
"And a little cocky about it." I added, smirking as I shook my head.
"Cocky cocky cocky cocky!!" Gabe started singing it like a chant. For some reason as of lately he was like a parrot; repeating every single thing.
"Thank you for that…" My sister glared at me as Gabe kept chanting.
Ames smirked at me, "Now who's the bad influence?"
"Why is my son yelling cocky like a theme song?" Ben asked as he walked up to us, grinning.
Cam silently pointed her thumb at me and glared as Ames and I tried to contain our laughter.
"Guilty." Ames said, taking the bullet.
"Hey man, I thought you were staying home?" Ben said, forgetting about the Gabe thing and hugged his uncle. It was always weird to think that that's what Ames was; his uncle. He definitely didn't look like any uncle I had known...
"Changed my mind." Ames shrugged, "So are we ready to head out or what?"
Cam nodded and picked up Gabe, "Yeah, you ready little one?" She asked him as he nodded.
"I've been ready Maman! Duh!" He told her like it was the most obvious thing in the world then he turned to me quickly, "Who's hand are you going to hold on the rides now Aunt Mila?" He pouted.
I grinned, "I'm not sure."
"Me, little man." Ames smirked as Gabe quickly turned his frown into a smile.
"Oh good." He breathed out a sigh of relief, "Now let's go!" He said with a big grin.
We filtered into our respective cars; Ben, Cam and Gabe in one car, while I hitched a ride with Ames.
"Thanks for coming with me…" I trailed off, looking at him.
"You didn't drag me. It's fine, squirt." He smirked as he lightly punched my shoulder.
"I'm five years younger than you Ames… Squirt was only okay when I was younger than 10." I narrowed my eyes at him.
Okay, honestly, I would be a big fat liar if I said that Ames wasn't terribly gorgeous… and that I grew up having a crush on him. Who wouldn't honestly? He was tall, tan, toned with blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes and he was a lawyer? He was a complete catch. Except that he just saw me like a younger sister and there was nothing worse than that… I remember specifically the first time he came home from college. He commented on my dress and I almost died right there from pure joy. I had a tiny crush on him growing up that I couldn't help...
"Old habits die hard." He smirked as he revved the engine of the car and we zoomed towards Disneyland.
"Show off." I smirked as he turned towards me.
"You don't like this car?" He asked, raising a brow.
I shrugged, "It's a little mid-life crisisy." I joked with them, but I was lying. It was a hot car and pretty comfortable too.
"Who the hell is mid life?" He asked, winking at me.
"You're the oldie." I replied, biting on my lip, joking with him. He was only five years older than me, but I liked to tease.
"And that's why you'll always be squirt." He replied, as I tried not to look disappointed. I was always squirt… "Hey." He reached over and squeezed my hand, making me look at him, "I'm sorry you didn't get to come with your boyfriend… this would probably be more fun with him."
I shrugged, "Not really, he hates Disneyland."
He had a look of confusion on his face, "Who the f.uck hates Disneyland?!" He asked loudly, "No offense but that kind of tells me his heart is missing."
I hit him, "It is not!! He just thinks it's for kids."
He shook his head, "For a guy who owns a nightclub he sure is a party pooper." He grinned as I shook my head.
"Such mature language for a guy in his midlife crisis." I joked, stepping out of the car.
"Why are you dating him anyways?" He asked me curiously. "I mean I can see why most girl without money and power, an in, but you have that already. What's in it for you?" He asked me.
I shrugged, "Is it shocking that I actually like him?" I asked with a smile.
"No, but there are tons of guys out there who have the same qualities but aren't jerks and that do like Disneyland." He grinned.
"He's sweet and really nice to me.. when he wants to be. He runs a nightclub and I understand it's stressful!" I shrugged, "There are parts I see of him that no one else does, and those are the parts I love…" I said quietly, "He's afraid to show it to everybody else and I can't blame him."
He just looked at me and quietly nodded, "I understand."
I nodded, remembering about Ames's ex and how he was still in love with her. Nobody could help who they fell in love with and the two of us were a testament to that.
"Plus he is incredibly hot with a great body." I chuckled, lightening the mood.
He laughed, "Glad to know." He smirked, throwing an arm over my shoulder, "Let's go have fun. Where to first?"
"The tower of terror!" I exclaimed, not being able to contain my excitement. Honestly, I was probably more excited than Gabe, but Disneyland was my favorite place on earth. I had been to all of the parks at least twice and the one in Paris over 5. Mom and Dad took us all the time and I was probably the most excited from anyone. Disney was a big part of my life and happened to be a disney princess every Christmas until I was 8.
Gabe looked at us with a scared face, "Terror? Is it scary?!" He asked, holding on to Cam's waist.
"It is a little bit, but I will hold your hand. I promise… and Ames will hold your hand too." I told him looking at him, "But if you don't want to go, it's okay."
He shook his head quickly, "NO! I wanna go. Momma, can I go with them?" He turned towards Cam.
"If you're not scared, you can, but please be careful." Cam said with a worried face that was directed towards me. I would take a bullet for Gabe, and I definitely wouldn't let him get hurt in anyway.
"I'll watch him like a hawk." I told my sister with a smile, "I promise."
She sighed, "Fine, we're going to a get few pretzels." She said as Gabe tugged on my hand.
"Let's go!" He exclaimed.
I grinned, "Hold your horses little man." As I tried to keep up with him. We stood in line as I gave my phone to Ames, "Take a picture of the two of us." I asked him as I picked up my nephew and we smiled at him.
He snapped the photo and smiled, "Great." He handed it back to me as the line moved forward.
"Wooo!" Gabe squealed out as we all came off the ride. He ran straight to his parents and quickly started gushing about the ride we just went on. I grinned at him; I loved how happy he was and how every thing he did was over the top and amazing.
"Remind me never to have kids." Ames joked as we watched Gabe go nuts and his parents tried to keep up. I had to give it to Ben and Cam for being able to keep up with him.
"You don't want kids?" I asked, turning towards him with a smile.
He shrugged, "Eh. I guess it wouldn't be the worst thing. But first you have to meet a girl." He winked.
I gave him a shocked face being sarcastic, "Oh, is that how that works?" I joked with him.
"I think so." He teased back as we split from Cam, Ben and Gabe as they went to more rides while we headed to the gift shop.
"Aren't you dating Chloe's friend though? The model?" I asked… but I'm sure it wasn't dating… more like screwing for fun, as Chloe said.
He wrinkled his nose, "Dating… Yeah, kind of." He shrugged.
I laughed at him, "Is that code for you're just f.cking her?"
He scratched the back of his head, "Uhm…" I could see his cheeks get a bit rid.
"I think you're blushing a little right now. Ames Alere, flustered by a squirt." I winked at him.
He laughed, "I just don't think I've ever heard you talk like that before." He admitted, looking at me.
"I'm 25 Ames, I talk how I want." I bit down on my lip, wanting him to see me as the woman I was, not the little girl I was.
He nodded, "Fair Enough. I guess I haven't spent much time alone with grown up Milena."
I nodded, "You're missing out. I'm buckets full of fun." I teased him.
"So then why am I with you instead of your boyfriend? And don't give me the busy sh.it or the he hates Disneyland sh.it. I'm not expert at relationships, trust me, but if I want to be with a girl? I'll suffer through whatever she wants to do because I like being around her." He said, almost knocking the air out of me.
I shrugged, thinking about it and honestly I had no clue. I never thought of it that way. I always thought that Braden loved me and loved being around me but was really serious about his club. I never gave it a second thought because I trusted him… maybe too much…
"I honestly don't know… I just always thought he was serious about work, which I admire about him. He does amazing things, like buys me flowers and gifts and stuff anytime he thinks he screwed up…"
"It doesn't make up for not spending time with you…" Ames shrugged.
I swallowed, not sure what to say. I understood what he was saying, but I still wanted to be with Braden despite having some downsides. I told myself that nobody was perfect, but Braden was pretty amazing.
"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." He spoke up, bringing me out of my train of thought.
I grinned, "You didn't. What you're saying is no worse than what Cam has said. Thanks Ames, I appreciate it." I told him honestly as he brought up a few stuff I really had to think about. My eyes landed on the minnie mouse ears. I grinned as I walked over to it, "I don't think I have these ones." I slipped them on and gave him a smile as he laughed.
"Surprisingly, it still looks like it's completely for you." He chuckled.
I laughed, "I'm going to get it. I don't have this version yet." I told him as I started to look through the rest of the store, "What do you think about this for Gabe?" I asked him holding up a pair of Mousekears, "I could get his name embroidered?" I told him.
"You are a big disney fan, aren't you?" He grinned.
I nodded, "Definitely." I turned towards him as we walked towards the register, "Now it's my turn to ask. What's going on with your ex? The fiancé." I said as he thought about it before speaking up.
He swallowed, "What do you want to know?"
I shrugged with a small smile, "What do you want to tell me?" I asked, not wanting to push him any more than he wanted. I knew it could be a sore subject because I had been there. I hated when Braden was mentioned.
He shrugged, "She needed help." I nodded, knowing that much. "It was be selfish and stay with her or help her get better. I had to do the right thing." I could see him tense up and I knew he was stressing him.
I placed my hand over him, "You miss her." I whispered softly.
He nodded, "I miss her. I don't talk about her much… sorry."
I shook my head, "We don't have to talk if you don't want to." I told him, regretting bringing her up.
He shook his head, "No it's okay. My family hated her, it's nice to talk to someone who doesn't have a bias."
I nodded and smirked back at him, "Yes, I know the feeling. Too bad you share my family's bias."
He chuckled, "Touche. I'll try to be moe open about your d.ouchebaggy boyfriend."
I narrowed my eyes on him, "At least he's not in rehab!" I snapped back at him as he laughed.
He shrugged, "Okay, so you beat me there I guess."
"I'm sorry…" I told him honestly. I didn't mean to throw that back in his face and I could kick myself for doing that…
He grinned, "It's okay little squirt." He smirked, pulling me into his big, strong arms, "You're forgiven."
I smirked, "And you're not, for that squirt comment." I pouted as I pulled out my credit card to pay, but Ames gently pushed me out of the way and held out his card instead, paying for my stuff.
I gave him a smile, "You didn't have to do that."
He shrugged, "Am I forgiven for the squirt comment?"
I grinned and nodded, "Yes. Thank you." I said, slipping on the minnie mouse ears and smiled at him, "What do you think?"
"It looks perfect." He said with a smile. I grabbed the child sized ears and placed it on Ames' head as we walked out of the gift shop, "Do I look good?" He asked me with a small smile.
I nodded, "The cutest."
"Get together for a picture!" I heard a park worker yell at the two of us as we tried to decline, "C'mon, give her a big kiss!" He yelled as the two of us started laughing.
"It's not like that man." Ames tried to shrug him off as I smirked and decided to do something crazy.
I pulled him in for a tight lipped kiss and leaned my body against him, "She disagrees!" I heard him yell as the camera went off.
I grinned as I pulled away and the guy gave us a card telling us that the pictures would be at the front desk as he walked away.
"Now what was the squirt?!" He smirked at me.
I shrugged, "Nothing. He wasn't going to leave us alone until we did."
"I think you just wanted to kiss me." He winked as I tried not to blush.
"In your dreams Ames." I smirked, "I just wanted to prove that I'm no longer a squirt."
"Are you blushing?!" He smirked as he pointed at my face.
I swatted his hand away, "Yes, because squirt is embarrassing! You're f*cking a girl younger than me!" I yelled out and he widened his eyes in shock, making me shrug, "Chloe told me."
"That's different." He said.
"How?" I asked, raising a brow, smirking.
"Because! I can't talk to you about this." He exclaimed and I could see his cheeks start to get red.
I rolled my eyes, "I swear, it's like you think I'm still 13." I shook my head.
"No! I didn't grow up with Charlotte. I never knew her when she was 13!"
I made a face, "So? When she was 13, you were 20. Think about that." I smirked as he winced.
"Still, I didn't witness her growing up like I witnessed you. It's different."
I held my hands up, "Don't blame me for being a cradle robber." I smirked, teasing him.
"Plenty of guys date women that are younger." He reasoned with me as I laughed.
"And plenty of people make fun of those men." I smirked, "I'm just saying it's a double standard."
He sighed, "Fine. I won't call you squirt anymore." He said finally, grinning at me, "But for the record? Only squirts kiss so tightly lipped." He teased me.
My mouth dropped, "The only reason I kissed you so tightly lipped was because I didn't want to make you feel any more uncomfortable than you already were." I smirked crossing my arms over my chest, "If you want I can prove that I am no squirt in that manner."
He shook his head, "I believe you. By the way how do you think your boyfriend would feel about you kissing me?"
I shrugged, "What he doesn't know won't kill him. Plus it wasn't anything romantic."
"You know, if it was me and my girlfriend put her lips on anybody else I'd be jealous…" Ames trailed off with a small smirk.
I shook my head, "Braden gets jealous enough… I don't need to tell him about this." I grinned, "In fact, if he found out about this, it might blow his head off." I gave him a small chuckle.
"Really?" He asked with a brow raised as I nodded.
"He is insanely jealous…" I trailed off with a small shrug.
"I know I'm trying to be open about him, but he's not looking too good." He joked with me.
I shrugged, "He has his good qualities. I wouldn't be with him for almost a year if there wasn't any." I told him.
"You've been together for a year?" He asked widening his eyes as I nodded.
"I know, sometimes it's hard for me to even believe, but yeah, it will be a year next month. I just hope he remembers. I'm the sentimental one in the relationship." I grinned, "So is there some type of anniversary on the horizon for you and the baby?" I asked with a small smirk.
"She is not a baby!" He exclaimed, "And no, this has only been a few month type of thing. We're just taking it day by day."
I bit my lip and grinned, "Oh and I just thought it was meaningless sex." I said a little too loudly and a family of four glared at me as I gave them an apologetic look, but they stormed off in the other direction.
Ames was laughing behind me, "Do you kiss your boyfriend with that mouth?"
I nodded, "Yes and he loves it and I'm not just talking about the kissing." I winked at him, making him groan.
"Don't say anything more." He said seriously, glaring at me.
I laughed, "What are you doing to do tell my parents on me?" I smirked, thinking about how awkward that would be, but my parents had me because of a one night stand. I don't think there was much I could do to shock them.
"I might." He warned me, giving me a lopsided grin as I shook my head.
"The unfortunate reality for my parents is that you can't be famous and not have your kids not know you're whole life story."
He laughed, "True." He nodded at me.
"So you can tell them whatever you want to, they can't say sh.it to me about sleeping with the wrong guys." I said honestly.
He laughed and shook his head, "It might be a little hypocritical but that won't stop them from doing it!" He pointed out as I sighed.
"And I'm not the child who got knocked up at 17." I said shaking my head, knowing I could never top what Cam and Ben did in my parents eyes.
"Ben and Cami were crazy in love. It's easy to make-"
I held up my hand, "Oh blah blah perfect Ben and Cami and their perfect son, blah blah blah." I said jokingly.
"Touche." He nodded. Honestly it was hard being the first child. Nothing shocked my parents and then my baby sister gets pregnant at 17, pissing them off, but they rose to the challenge and actually did well.
"I mean I love them." I told him honestly, "And Gabe." I said, not wanting anyone to doubt that because I did.
"I know cutie." He said, pulling me into a hug and looking down at me and neither of us spoke, "You really grew up damn good Mila…" He trailed off, "Any guy would be lucky to be with you. I hope Braden knows that."
"You know you sound like you're hitting on me." I gave him a small wink, knowing that wasn't true… I was just like a little sister in his eyes.
"Sounds like that's what you want Mila." He winked at me.
I rolled my eyes, "In your dreams. I'm too old for you." I winked.
He smirked at me, "Oh really? Are you using that against me now?"
"When you date a baby, it's hard not to." I winked.
He rolled his eyes, "I'll take it." He shrugged, "No big deal."
I saw Cam and Ben slowly walking and Gabe dragged them by the hands towards us,  "Uncle Ames, Aunt Mila!!!" He yelled out. It looked as if Cam and Ben were exhausted and Gabe still looked one hundred percent awake. God that kid had so much energy, "We had so much fun!!" He yelled out.
"Did you?" I grinned, picking him up as he stared at Ames and giggled.
"Those Mickey Mouse ears look too small Uncle Ames."
I nodded, "That's because they're not his." I took it off his head and turned it around to show Gabe's name on the ears.
He gasped, "Is it mine?"
I nodded, "I got it especially for you. Do you like it?"
He quickly nodded and put it on his head, "I love it!! Maman! Look!" He yelled at Cam.
She smiled, "What do you say?"
He turned back towards me and hugged me tightly, "Thank you so so much Aunt Mila. And Uncle Ames." He wriggled out of my arms and ran into his, giving him a big hug.
"You're welcome little man."
