Have no place to go.

Have no place to go.

Have no place to go. by pinklipstiiick featuring converse sneakers

I shoved my phone back into my pocket, another beep going off before I even had the chance to pull my hand away from it. I pulled it back out and read the dirty text from Erin... for a med student, she seemed to have a lot of free time lately.

"Which one is it?" Ben's voice cut into my thoughts, making me jump a little as he walked out wearing a suit. He adjusted the tie while looking in the mirror, his eyes meeting mine for a second and making him grin. The guy knew me.

"The American one," I replied, putting it back in my pocket. "You look like a penguin in that one," I said honestly, feeling like we were on a date. I hated shopping. The best part of having an assistant? She did most of my shopping for me.

"I didn't realize I was trying to impress you," He shot me a cocky grin before walking back into the dressing room.
I messed with my cufflinks and grinned, "You're going to break my heart one of these days."

He laughed, the sales girl standing near his door probably hoping to catch a glimpse of him naked. Unfortunately for her, she was barely five feet tall and looked like a toad. She stood no chance. "Are you bringing her? Or one of the others?"

"To Lagerfeld party next month?" I took the cuff links off and thought about his question for a second. Erin was the smart one, the kind of girl who spent more time reading than going out to fancy parties. That was more or Brigitte's element, even Evie's... she was the designer after all. "No."

He walked back out and the girl straightened her posture a little, messing with his tie. And I say messing with it, because he already had it tied perfectly... she just kind of pushed it to the side, only to straighten it out again. "Can I get you anything else, Mr. Lindsell?" She stared at him wide eyed, making me feel a little embarrassed for her. But Ben? Either he didn't notice or he was really good at ignoring the way girls fell at his feet. "You'd look great in the navy Armani we just got in."

"I'll try that one too," He said quietly as he kept his eyes on his own reflection, ignoring her and smirking at me instead when she disappeared. "What about this one?"

I looked at my friend as he turned in my direction, my eyes scanning his body and leaving him grinning wide. No wonder people always thought we were gay together, we acted like a couple. "It works if you have to go to a funeral," I said honestly.

He groaned, shaking his head, "The more suits you turn down the longer you'll have to stay here."

"This is fucking torture, you're worse than a girl," I ran my hands through my hair but smirked.

"If I were a girl you wouldn't be here," He smirked back at me before spinning on his heels to pay attention to his reflection again. I stared at him with an amusement expression, mixed with a hint of annoyance as he raised one eyebrow at me, "It's a no?"

"As I said, unless you want to find yourself a widow, no," My smirk went back in place and he couldn't help laughing. "The navy Armani will make you look great instead," I added as I imitated the poor sales girl who was currently mia, only making Ben laugh louder.

He walked over to me and took a seat next to me, turning his head in my direction, "Does it mean you'll take me to the party instead of one of the harem girls?"

"Does it mean you'll put out at the end of the night?" I asked with a serious face before breaking into a grin, noticing the girl returning from out of the corner of my eye, the navy suit in her arms and making her stump legs look even smaller in comparison to the long legs of the suit.

"I never kiss on the first date," Ben joked back and stood up, taking the suit from the girl.

Her eyes bounced back and forth between us, a grin on my lips, "I don't know about that handsome. You seem to be forgetting how wild you get after a few cosmos..."

"Shut it," He replied and walked back into the dressing room.

I glanced at the sales woman and smiled wider, "The blue will make his eyes just dreamy."

Her lips were pursed together as she nodded, "Can I get you anything else?"

"We're fine," I replied and stood up, grabbing a blazer from off the rack and trying it on. I waited until the girl was out of sight to button it, "So I have a harem, huh?"

"Are you denying it?" He asked from inside the dressing room.

I grinned to myself, "No... but I'm curious what you call your barely girlfriends."

He laughed again, walking out and adjusting the sleeves, "Barely girlfriends?"

"A little more than a one night stand, but never make it past a week or am I wrong?" I asked and glanced at the suit, "I hate to admit it, but the midget sales girl was right and that suit looks great on you. The harem will definitely be staying home because I'm taking you."

He laughed again, "For being someone who hates shopping you picked a nice blazer."

I glanced down at myself before looking back at him with a smug smirk on my face, "I doesn't look bad, but I'm not sure if I can top you in that suit."

"Careful with what you say, you're going to give the poor sales girl a heart attack," He grinned as he walked over to me, both of us staring at the reflection of ourselves in the mirror. "What does make you think I'd come with you?" He asked, going back to the previous subject and not realizing that his sentence sounded pretty damn awful.

"We both know I'd be a better company than..." I trailed off, shooting him a questioning look as I tried to recall his most recent girls name, "Rose? Azure?"

"Her name is Celeste," He smirked as he shook his head.

I just shrugged, buttoning then unbuttoning the blazer, trying to decide how I liked it better. "I remembered that she had a color name." I paused to turn my  head in his direction and grinned, "I'm surprised you remember her name yourself. How long have you been seeing her now? A week? Maybe it's time to move on and pick a new girl."

He didn't even pretend to be offended, even as awful as it sounded. Not that I was any better. "Mind to share one of yours?" He asked instead, grinning from ear to ear.

"I don't know I might get jealous."

"Of me I hope," He said back as he kept his eyes on his reflection, knowing he'd start laughing again if he looked at me.

"Definitely," I grinned. "You know, I think your sister is jealous of you."

He let out a chuckle, "Obviously, but why do you say that?"

I thought back on my conversation with Chloe and all the rude remarks she spat at me. Again, I wasn't any better, but still. She expected me to like her or take her seriously to say the least, and then she insinuated that I was trying to fuck Ben. I thought it was clear that I liked women... maybe she was just pissed off that her little tricks didn't work on me. "She asked why I like you, but not her," I grinned wide as his expression matched mine.

"Did you tell her its because she's so awful?"

I laughed and shook my head while still smirking, "I tried, but then she told me to stop waiting around for you because I wasn't your type..."

We both were cracking up as the sales girl returned, the way she licked her lips at Ben didn't go unnoticed. Then again, neither did her mustache. "That suit is perfect on you," She said with a little drool spilling out of the corners of her mouth. "Should I start ringing you up? Bill the agency?"

Now that was the life.

"Yes," He said simply.

She stared at him, waiting for him to look at her which he didn't. "Okay," She said finally and left.

"I swear," I shook my head, watching her leave. "It's like I don't even exist when we're together."

He laughed again and ran a hand through his hair, "Come on, you're the one dating three girls."

I wouldn't call it dating, but I kept my mouth shut on the matter. It was complicated, like a constant booty call with a few regulars. "You know that new photographer? Lumen?" I asked instead and waited for him to nod. "I asked her out at your parents brunch. Taking her to dinner."

"Thinking of expanding the harem?" He raised a brow and smirked.

"According to your sister, I'm still waiting on you..." I trailed off and faked a pout.

He broke into another laugh, elbowing me, "Oh c'mon, don't give me that face, you know it's my weakness."

"That doesn't make me feel any better," I shook my head as my frown turned into a straight line, "Not the answer I was hoping for."

"When we'll both hit our thirties you'll be done waiting," He kept grinning, glancing at me before walking back into the dressing room.

"I can already hear your sister telling me that she had told me so," I said to him from the other side of the curtain.

He kept silent for a while, "Why are we even talking about my sister? Is she still mad over you not casting her?"

"Probably," I responded honestly, not sure what the blondes deal was.

Ben pushed the velvet curtain to a side, wearing his normal clothes while looking at me with an eyebrow raised. "Do yourself a favor, stay away from her," He said seriously, looking slightly annoyed. If I had a sister that looked like Chloe? I'd be the same way.

"Consider it done," I said with a shrug, not really paying attention but taking off the blazer instead.

"You should get that one, it looks good on you," He changed the subject, not interested in digging further into the subject, "You could even convince Lumen to join the harem if you look that handsome."

"I don't know if it's what I want but I'll take it anyway," I grinned back at him, running a hand through my hair and giving it that just out of bed shape that women seemed to like.

He shook his head, grabbing the suit from the dressing room and waiting for the smurf to show up again, "I really have no idea of how you can make that work."

I glanced at him curiously, hoping we weren't back on his sister again. She was a train wreck waiting to happen and when I said I'd stay away from her? I meant it. "What?"

"The harem," He smirked.

I grinned slowly, "You make me feel like Hugh Hefner when you call it that."

"Well you sound like Hugh Hefner, juggling three girls at once," He laughed and shook his head. Honestly, coming from someone elses mouth? It sounded bad. But it wasn't, at least not in my head. My life wasn't like a porno, I wasn't having crazy foursomes every night... Hell, I'd never even had a threesome.

"It's like you with your girls..." I trailed off and shrugged. "Nothing too serious, no real emotions. Just sex and a few dates every now and then."

"Except the part where there are three of them... and they all know about each other," He got me there.

"It's hard to explain, but it works," I said seriously, knowing that I was lucky to have not one gorgeous girl in my life, but three. They weren't real relationships though or girls I'd introduce to my mum. I was having fun for the time being, my job requiring too much of my time for anything more than that. I wasn't a commitment phobe, but that wasn't what I wanted either. "Maybe I'll settle down one day and have a cute child that'll rival Gabriel, but until then..." I gave him another shrug. The idea of having kids? Yeah, it wasn't for me.

Ben snorted, "No kid will ever be as cute as Gabe."

I grinned and eyed my friend, "I agree. If you're ever interested in getting him into modeling? You know where my office is."

He looked back at me, smirking a little, "I wouldn't joke about it, it's something that could happen."

I blinked my eyes at my friend, obviously surprised, "Please don't tell me you want to turn him into one of those awful baby models."

"You know me better than that," He said flatly but then smiled again, obliviously thinking of his son. He was a young father, but a damn good one. "He told me he wants to be a model."

"Not now I hope." I grinned back at me, "I wonder how he even got the idea."

He ignored me as the sales girl appeared again and  handed her the suit without adding a word. "Cami told me that last time they went shopping he insisted on buying clothes like mine," He told me, trying to not smirk like an idiot and failing. The pride he felt for his son? It made me envious. If I couldn't settle down with one girl, the idea of me ever starting a family would be a pure miracle.

I let out a laugh and shook my head, "If he's so much like you I wonder when he'll start to crush on me too."

"Hopefully he'll have a better taste," Ben said with a shrug, looking at me with an amused grin on his face.

"I don't know about that," I shrugged, "Your ex?" I stopped short when he shot me an offlimits type look. That's what Cami was to us; an offlimits subject. I knew her well enough to know that she was more than a gorgeous girl and from Ben, I knew that she was a great mother too. But besides that? We never spoke about her.

"Are we finished here?" He asked instead and I nodded.

"We are... unless you're planning on taking the midget into a dressing room for a quickie," I joked, wondering why the hell I was still holding my blazer and the few button ups I wanted while Ben's purchases were already getting rung up and bagged.

He let out a laugh and shook his head, "I think I'll pass."

"Got a hot date with Celine tonight?" I grinned, knowing I had her name wrong again but did it really matter? I'd never meet her anyways and in a week tops, she'd probably be nothing more but a lost number in Ben's phone.

"Celeste," He corrected me without any looks passing his face, unphased to say the least.

"Reminds me of Babar," I said with a smirk, thinking of the books my nanny read to me as a kid.

He shot his head in my direction and raised a brow, "What?"

"Babar, King of Elephants... you never read those books?" I asked and grabbed the slacks from off the chair, draping them over my arm.

"I think Gabe had one, but he wasn't too crazy about it..." He trailed off and looked lost in a thought before a smirk played on his lips, "I didn't know you were into this kind of books."

"Do you read at all?" I teased back, not missing a beat.

"Does gq count?" He asked with that cocky smirk, going along with my joke. If one of us got offended every time the other was a smartass? We'd be offended all the time.

I shrugged as we walked toward the counter where his bags were already packed and waiting for him. Life. "I think books for kids count more," I grinned back at him, setting my slacks, button ups and blazer on the flat surface.

"Then I read a lot, Gabe loves falling asleep with the Petite Prince," He said and even though it was supposed to be a witty banter it came out more like a confession, his lips curving into a smile.

I shot him an amused look, noticing the way his face lit up every time he spoke about his son. "Wait one more year and he'll be the one reading you stories."

"He's already working on that," He said back proudly.

I looked at him for a few seconds, keeping silent, then shook my head, "I'll never get how you can be such a cheesy dad and a panties ripper at the same time."

He groaned even though it was the truth. It was like he lived a double life. "Ugh those are two concepts that are very separate," He glanced at me and made a face before smirking, "You'll understand when you'll have a baby yourself."

"When I have a baby myself?" I chuckled and shook my head, knowing that day would never come. I had no desire to have a kid. Ever. "Not gonna happen."

"That'll be $9,878," The girl ringing me up said with a cheerful smile, my eyes nearly bugged out of my head. What the fuck did I get? A blazer, slacks, and a hooker? I bit my tongue before asking if a blowjob was my gift with purchase and handed my AmEx over instead. At least I was earning miles. "Thank you Mr. Williams," She leaned into the counter after sliding my card, handing it back to me along with a slip of paper that had her number on it without a doubt. So Ben attracted midget sales clerks and I got gold digger cashiers.

"For paying the stores rent for the month? Welcome," I said as a chuckle left Ben's mouth, the girl turning a slight shade of pink. I added a smile to not seem like a complete ass. She handed our bags without another word and we headed out of the store, me stopping dead in my tracks as we got outside. "You didn't pay."

"The agency has an account on file," He said as if it were nothing. Actually, for him? It was nothing.

I grinned, "Can we switch lives?"

"You take my modeling career and spend your day in tight Calvins while I judge models for a living?" He smirked, "I'll think about it."

"You'd get the harem you know," I added with a grin. "On the downside? You'd also have your sister harassing you."

He made a groaning noise while I grinned.

"So she told me that you said I'm not good enough for her," I raised a brow and eyed my friend. "Am I a popular subject between you two?"

"Lately? You are," He said flatly, not liking the subject at all and not bothering to hide it.

"How so?" I asked quietly as my brow kept in place just like my eyes on his pretty boy face. I was curious to say the least.

He shrugged, tearing his eyes away from me as we walked, "She can't get over you not casting her and not liking her. As you might have noticed she thinks highly of herself, so..."

"She told me she's a great model at least one million times," I said back, the grin evident in my tone.

"That she is, I'll give her that." He glanced at me, "She could be so much better if her crazy personal life didn't affect her reputation though."

"That's exactly my point and the reason why I won't hire her," I said seriously, thankful that someone finally saw where I was coming from.

He grinned but sighed, "She won't give up, trust me. She's stubborn and she thinks you're hot too....god save us," He muttered the last part under his breath, shaking his head.

"She almost sounds obsessed," I grinned, a little flattered since I had to admit that she was stunning.
He looked at me eventually and shot me a small grin, "If I were you? I'd be scared."
