and I've been so caught up in my job, didn't see what's going on but now I know, I'm better sleeping on my own

I checked my email as I stared at my laptop screen blankly, hoping to get an e-mail from Caleb. Nothing. I glanced outside the window of my small office, I could see his winery from there and I wondered what he was doing. During the past week I had gotten a few e-mails from him but they were all work related and cold. I guessed I had to consider myself lucky enough to still have my bakery but truth was my mood was set on sad and never changed. I'd get over it though, or so I kept repeating to myself.
"Tara!" Came Dennis' voice before he appeared with a gorgeous puppy of golden retriever in his arms and a cute expression on his face. "Look at what I found!"

"Colbs?" I said as I watched Colbs, sitting into her car with a blank face.
"Hi." She said softly, turning off the car and getting out.
"Hey. You ready for the tour? I have a few things I need your opinion on too." I told her even if she knew it already since that was the reason why she was here, to see Will's new room and the kitchen.
"Yeah. You already know I trust you." She shrugged.
"Yeah but it's your house. I want your input."
She nodded. "Okay."

caught in the overflow

"So I can come by the house next Thursday." I told the brunette sitting across the desk in my office, smiling at her.
"Great! Here's my number." She grabbed my hand and wrote directly on it. "And um, you can call even if it's not about the house." She replied, smiling as she got up and turned around in her sky high heels and passed Colbie by. Wait. Colbie!?
"Colbie." I replied, looking at her. "What are you doing here?"
"I just wanted to bring by some cookies..." She trailed off. "I didn't realize your new job was such a babe magnet." She said, spitting the words out bitterly.
"Excuse me?" I rose a brow at her.
"Nothing." She said, setting the plate of cookies on my desk.
"Colbie."
