“And the benefit this weekend is looking on track.” My assistant Janine was going through my schedule and I looked up.

last mile home

“Mr. King.” I smiled brightly at Caleb as he came into my bakery.
“How many times have I told you to call me Caleb?” He asked, raising a brow at me.
I shrugged. “You’re kind of my boss.”
“More like your landlord.” He corrected.
I laughed and walked over to the counter. “Whatever. What can I get you?”
“Coffee and a sweet. Surprise me.” He said, saying the same thing he always did.
“Deal.” I turned around to start working.
“But that’s not the only reason I’m here.”
I turned slightly as I ground coffee beans. “Oh?”
“Have you ever catered a wedding?” He asked.
"Nope." I shook my head, not looking at him but cutting a slice of chocolate and almonds cake, "I feel like you're asking for a reason."
"Yes, the reason why I'm here." He said back from behind me.

you'll do anything for me

“Don’t you have work to do?” I asked, pouring my sister another cup of coffee as I slumped on the chair next to her.
“I have a showing in 3 hours.” She shrugged. “This coffee is awesome.”
“Thanks I added nutmeg.” I smiled and she just blinked at me.

I sat down beside her and she smiled, she said where have you been it's been awhile

I heard voices as I closed the door of my house behind me, beyond grateful to be home early and to get to spend some time with Lila but less grateful to have to share her with someone else apparently. As soon as I walked into the kitchen I found Colbie and I was almost surprised she was there and not with my brother. Maybe it was a good sign. “Hey Colbie.” I walked over and kissed her on the cheek, she smiled but the smile looked fake and Lila was looking her weird. It was clear that something was happening.
“I was just leaving.” Colbie replied softly and Lila didn’t stop her as she got her back and left without saying another word to her sister.
“What was that?” I asked, loosening my tie as I sat down on the bar stool next to the counter.

no matter what they say it wont hurt me

Trav kissed the top of my head as I leaned into him. I still felt a little dizzy from the night before where we’d goone out with friends and now it was nice to be lazy. I even slept past 8. Couldn’t remember the last time I did that.
"Next time, I'm going to pick what we watch." Trav said against my hair quietly. I groaned as I looked back up to him.
"It's not like I'm forcing you to watch Frozen." I teased.

she used to love me a lot

I kissed Lila on top of her head as I kept my eyes on the movie we were watching, both of us too lazy and a bit hangover too to move from my couch. It was Saturday after all, the weather was bad, I was tired from a busy week at work...in all honesty I couldn't ask for more than this. It was a miracle though, not only she wasn't being her usual super active self, but she had even slept in. I was afraid to say it out loud, but things between us were going damn good. "Next time, I'm going to pick what we watch." I said quietly.
She let out a quiet groan, tilting her head back to look at me, "It's not like I'm forcing you to watch Frozen." She retorted but there was a teasing grin playing on her face.
"Maybe that would've been better, I could've fallen asleep." I grinned back at her and when she rolled her eyes I pressed a kiss on her lips.

give your all to me

Jax squeezed my hand as he drove with the other. I loved how he was always touching me, my hand, my hair, my shoulder or my back, he was surprisingly affectionate and I couldn’t get enough. It was both terrifying and exhilarating to be so completely taken with someone, in a way I hadn’t been even with my ex-husband.

all I know is that I love you so

I held Colbies hand in mine as I held the wheel with my other hand, my eyes on the road even if it was hard. As lame is it sounded, I'd spend hours just staring at her. Damn I was in trouble. I didn't even care.
"I'm so happy we're finally getting to spend a whole day together." Colbie broke the silence and basically read my thoughts.
"We should do this every Sunday." I grinned at her, almost high on how happy I was. It had been a long busy week and we had barely had any time to see each other...I wasn't going to lie, it was driving me insane.
She frowned, "And miss Will's game?" She asked seriously.
I shook my head, because I wouldn't do that myself. I liked going see the kids play, always had even before Colbie. "No. But I like spending my free time with you...next time we can take Will away with us." I explained as I already thought about our little trip out of town. It was nothing big, but still.
"Next time will be for my birthday present...I can't wait." She grinned this time and I relaxed because she seemed happy. She parted her lips but before she could speak, my phone went off.
