the first cut is the deepest

"Lil..." I whispered into Lila's ear, amazed by how she never heard the alarm wenting off.
Her eyes fluttered open as I pressed soft kisses against her shoulders. "Mmm." She moaned and leaned into me, letting me hold her against my body.
"I have to go to work." I whispered against her skin as I kept kissing her over and over.
"Okay." She nodded, looking as if she was still sleeping...almost. Because she kept arching into my body.
"You're being bad..." My voice went a little rough and she turned in my arms to look into my eyes.
"I was sleeping. Is that bad?" She asked, leaning in to kiss me quickly but I cupped her jaw and deepened the kiss, long and slow until she was melting against me, aching, wanting.
"You're soft and warm and sleepy and naked and no sane man would walk away from you like this." I admitted, only saying the truth.

"Lil..." I felt my eyes flutter open as I felt soft kisses pressed against my shoulders.
"Mmm." I moaned and leaned into Travis, his scent enveloping me, his warm body hard against mine.

there are times when you don't give me a smile, I lie awake at night and worry for a while

I woke up suddenly, my torso lifting off the bed as I got in a sitting position involuntarily, my eyes opening wide and my heart pounding in my chest. It had been only a dream, a nightmare more so, one that had left me even more anxious and restless than usual. I let my back fall on the mattress again before I rolled onto my side, my eyes adjusting to the cold light of the early morning as I looked out the window in front of me, Copenhagen looking beautiful. I swallowed, deep in my thoughts, my lids feeling heavy but I refused to fall back asleep, I didn't want to torment myself further, and even though I had no idea of what time it was, I knew that Aria and I had our flight later that day. It had been a very nice week, a second honeymoon opposite to the first one, but just as good. We had visited the city, I had taken Ar to the places I had already been alone before, we had enjoyed our time lazily, the tempo of our days a lot slower than usual. It had been amazing and I wished we'd stay there some more, or forever, the thought of going back to our normal lives enough to make me feel drown by anxiety. Enough to give me nightmares.

Let 'em talk 'cause we're dancing in this world alone.

Let 'em talk 'cause we're dancing in this world alone.

"Seb." I said softly and gently, breaking the silence in our hotel room as my hand landed on his shoulder, the bed flexing underneath me as I crawled onto the bed.
"Are you awake?" I asked as I eased myself behind him, resting on my knees.
"Yeah," He muttered under his breath, his voice still groggy as he kept his gaze in front of him.
My body adjusted against his, my chest pressing against his bare back as my arm wrapped around his waist and my nose nuzzled his neck. "What's wrong?"
He reached for my hand and pressed a kiss on it's back before closing it in his as he leaned them both against his heart. Silence weighed on us while I waited for him to speak, to tell me what had been on his mind for a while now. "I had a nightmare, I think," He said eventually, giving me the simplest answer.
"What was it about?" I asked as I squeezed his hand and placed soft soothing kisses up his neck.
He shook his head, tugging at my arm to keep me closer to him, "I don't even remember anymore." He said honestly before changing the topic, "Why weren't you in bed?"
"I was packing...did you forget we're leaving today?" I asked back with a hint of amusement in my tone.
"I wish," He muttered under his breath, closing his eyes and exhaling loudly.

"What the hell?" I blinked as I watched the movers walking through the house bringing in piece after piece of furniture into Jac and I's new house.
"Where do you want the bed Miss Duchannes?" A guy walked up to my girlfriend....a little too close and she smiled at him.
"In the bedroom, up against the far wall."
"It's a big bed for such a tiny thing like you." He ran his hand down her arm and she smirked as she saw me behind him right before I grabbed the guys arm and twisted it behind his back.

Your heartbeat of solid gold.

"Where do you want the bed Miss Duchannes?" One of the movers asked as he walked up to where I was standing, furniture everywhere and quickly filling up our new house.

I smiled, "In the bedroom, up against the far wall."

"It's a big bed for such a tiny thing like you," He ran his hand down my arm and I smirked as I noticed Dean who grabbed the guys arm and twisted it behind his back.

"She shares it with me," He said darkly.

I knocked on the door to Jackson's apartment and heard him groaning, making me smirk. Lazy man.
"I thought you were with Trav." he said, his brows furrowing together.
"Why, did he tell you he was with me?" I asked quickly, making me wonder if what he had told him was the same thing he told me.
"Nope. He told me he was busy tonight and I assumed he was with you." he shrugged, stepping aside and then letting me follow him into his living room.
"He told me he was busy too. Now I know that was true." I said and slumped on the couch and followed him with my eyes as he went to the kitchen and grabbed two beers, handing me a bottle.
"We got both dumped." he teased and I laughed as he clinked his bottle to mine.
"Cheers to that."
"What are you watching?" I asked, raising a brow at the TV where a busty blonde was dancing on a pole. "Oh my god is this porn?!" Jax rolled his eyes.
"Please. It's some cop show." he shook his head.
"Oh." I laughed and leaned back against the couch.
"What's going on in that pretty head?" He asked, looking over at me with a concerned expression.
"I dunno." I lied. Jax sighed and ran his fingers through his long hair.
"You're upset."
"Did your friends like me?" I asked. He nodded.
"Everyone likes you Lila. That's not what you were worried about you know they did."
"I just-" I shook my head and bit my lip.
"You want to ask about Karlie." He finished for me. Fu.ck sometimes I thought Jax read my mind sometimes. Or maybe I was just that transparant.
"I do." I agreed.
"I would tell you if you asked." He said, shooting me a look.
"I want to know." I admitted. "But it's not for you to tell me. Whatever happened was personal enough that I want to hear it from Travis." Jax nodded, grinning at my answer.
"Okay. So then what's up?"
"...I don't need you to tell me what happened. But I need you to tell me something else.
"I'm ready." I took a deep breath before I spoke.
"Is she still in love with him?"
"Eh..." he trailed off, making a frustrated face, clearly trying to decide how much to tell me. I respected that about him. I liked that he was protecting his brother. It was the same thing I would do, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to know more.
"Is that a yes?" I asked, kicking off my shoes and turning my body towards his as I crossed my legs beneath me. Jax reached over and squeezed my knee, giving me an amused look.
"In love is not the right word." he said eventually, shrugging and taking a big gulp of beer.
"Then find the right one!" I said back, feeling desperate to understand so that I wouldn't lose Travis.
"Are you trying to kill me or what?" Jax breathed out, smirking.
"Don't get distracted." I said,, thugh I smirked too.
"She's not...I mean, I don't think she is. She's my friend too but we're not that close." I relaxed a little, but not much.
"Like you're friends with me?"
"You shouldn't really compare yourself to Karlie. You're nothing like her." he said, and even though he was grinning? I knew he was serious too. "You're like a breathe of fresh air for Trav, she's still suffocating him instead."
"What do you mean?"
"She's obsessed with him. Addicted...he's her rock to lean on whenever she's having a breakdown and no matter how hard Travis has tried to change her behavior, it keeps repeating itself." he explained softly, though I could tell he wasn't telling me everything.
"Oh god." I groaned and felt nauseous. "That might be worse than love." I admitted with a grimace.
"How so?"
"Obsessed? That sounds miserable. And you're talking about it present tense. Which means that sometimes? Travis is with her. Alone with her. And it's not that I don't trust him, but I don't know her and therefor can not trust her." I was sure Travis would be a man and break up with me if he wanted to be with his ex. It was just the ex convincing him that's what he wanted I was afraid of.
"He's with you Lila." He pointed out.
"Yes. But he doesn't love me." I shrugged, convinced that I just had to wait it out, that he was still trying to figure out how to be with me. Jax grabbed my hand and tugged it back so I'd look at him.
"He does instead." He said, full eye contact and serious eyes that he almost never had.
"If he does he doesn't know it. And if he doesn't know it he's much more likely to fall back into whatever he had with her."
"You think too much." He said, his serious expression gone as he sipped his beer.
"And you don't think." I smirked, throwing a pillow at him. "Enough serious talk, tell me something interesting."
"You know that girl I was with when you came out with us?"
"The redhead?"
"Yeah. Her ti.ts were real." I turned back to him with a shocked expression.
"No way."
"Serious. Couldn't believe it myself actually." I started laughing as I pictured Jax's expression after getting her naked.
"Oh god, please tell me you didn't comment on them being real." I said through chuckles, grasping his shoulder. He let out a loud laugh and shook his head.
"Do you think I'm that bad?!"
"Aren't all guys?!" I said back, laughing myself and feeling better already. "I take it as you'll see her again."
"God no." he said with a shrug.
"See? Bad!"
"Bad?! It's called survival. Didn't you see how she was the other night? All over me...too needy!"
"Oh yes, you looked bummed." I said sarcastically, shooting him a big grin and remembering that he had actually been the one all over her instead.
"Girls like that?" he said seriously, pausing to finish his beer, "Are good only for one night." I stared at him for a long moment, understanding not wanting someone to be needy, but not getting the not liking a hot girl all over him.
"It's fascinating to see how a boys mind work."
"You seem to forget I'm one of a kind." Jax grinned.
"Just like your brothers."
"Nope. I'm the best." he winked at me as his phone beeped and he grabbed it, whatever it said making him grin even wider.
"Uh, I got it now...there's someone else already." I shot him a suggestive look.
"Nah." he shrugged. "It's platonic."
"Is she gay?" I asked, raising a brow.
"No." He laughed.
"Ugly?" I guessed.
"Not in the least bit." He smirked and I blinked back at him.
"You're platonicly friends with a girl for no reason?" He folded his arms over his chest and glared at me.
"I'm friends with you!" He exclaimed.
"That's different!" He narrowed his eyes at me.
"How?"
"First of all? I'm dating your brother. That makes me basically a sister to you."
"Meh." He replied to whoever he was texting and I shook my head.
"And we wouldn't just be friends if there was no Travis." I added non-chalantly.
"Wait what?!" he shot up from his relaxed position.
"I'm saying if we had met first I'd probably have ended up being one of your one night stands." I admitted. Jacksons grin was so wide I thought about slapping it off of him. He was so taking this the wrong way.
"Did you just admit to wanting me? I always knew it." he made a show out of wrapping an arm around me and pulling me close. "You're just using my brother to get close to me." I laughed and started poking him hard in the stomach.
"Don't be crazy! Lucky for me I met Travis first, he's much better looking." Jackson's jaw dropped and then he reached out and pulled my wrists away before grabbing on to my sides and tickling me in just the right spot to make me squeal and roll off the couch. I tried to pull away but he tickled me harder.
"Who's better looking now?" he asked, finally taking pity on me as he stopped and pulled me away from the couch.
"Still Travis." I breathed out softly, but hey I was telling the truth.
"Damn he must've brainwashed you." Jax sighed, shaking his head as if I was a lost cause. I laughed as a thought popped into my head and Jax shot me a weird look.
"I was about to say something really unappropriate." I confessed, biting my lip and blushing.
"Tell me." he said seriously. I shook my head fast.
"Nope."
"Do you want me to start tickling you again?"
"Trav brainwashed me with his penis." I surrended eventually, breaking into giggles as he groaned and tossed his head back on the couch cushion.
"Oh good god Lila. I didn't want to hear that."
"Hey, you insisted!" I kept smirking, squeezing myself between him and the couch as I propped myself up on one elbow to look into his eyes.
"I won't next time." he muttered.
"Smart man." I grinned. "I'm full of things you don't want to hear."
"I know it." He grimaced and pulled back. "Why are you here making me want to throw up anyways?"
"You love having me around, it's refreshing to hang out with a hot girl who also knows basic math." Jax laughed.
"Yeah that's you. Basic math."
"What does that mean?"
"You went to Yale Lila, you're in a completely different leauge than most women."
"Is that a bad thing?" I asked, blinking back at him and wanting the honesty that Jackson always gave me.
"Of course not. You're not snooty about it. You're smart but you don't need people to know you are. Half your family is famous, but you don't name drop like most people would."
"Name dropping my own brothers would be pathetic." I said seriously. "They're all dumbas.ses anyways."
"And you have kind of a potty mouth. It's no wonder my brother is crazy about you. You're perfect."
"Okay stop that." I felt my cheeks flush and I shifted on the couch. "I'm far from perfect. I piss off your brother every other day."
Jax raised a brow at me before brushing his thumb against my cheek softly. "I doubt that, Trav is not that easy to p.iss off." he said finally, making me scoff at him.
"Are we talking about the same person? He is so easy to piss off instead."
"When he gets mad, he get really super fucking mad. But with you? I'm having a hard time imagining him mad at you." Jax propped an elbow on the cushion nest to him, leaning his face against his hand.
"Weren't you watching the other night?" I said, rolling my eyes like it hadn't hurt as much as it had. Jax just shrugged.
"He was in one of his moods, nothing personal Lil." he explained, and I knew he was saying it knowing Travis his whole life but still. I knew something....something was off.
"Yeah sure." I muttered crossing my legs as I thought about last night. "But even if you were right-" I started again but he cut me off.
"And we both know I'm not." Jax said with a big grin, obviously reading my face.
"And you're not." I repeated as I shot him an amused look, "I don't like that anyway. If he's in an awful mood he shouldn't pick on me."
"I agree on that one."
"Did I say that I really really like you?" I asked, grinning at his smug face.
"A couple times." he said back and shrugged nonchalantly.
"I'd like you even better if you..." I trailed off, looking for the right words, "If you could talk to Trav or something." Ugh. Those weren't the right words at all. I didn't need Jax to fight my battles for me. But maybe Travis just needed to talk to someone about us. Sometimes I needed to too.
"I'm never going to do that Lil. I like you an awful lot too, but I have to mind my own business."
"God I know and that's not what I meant." I groaned, feeling frustrated wiht how I was feeling, "I mean...I don't understand if there's something wrong with me, something that Travis doesn't like and he doesn't want to tell me. It'd be nice if I could get some hint from one of the persons who knows him the best."
"I'm 100% sure that my brother is crazy about you and that there's nothing wrong with you." he said quietly. "I don't need to talk to him to know that...but I'll see what I can do, okay?"
"There's plenty wrong with me by the way." I added.
"Oh? Like what?" I shrugged.
"I'll buy new clothes sometimes instead of doing laundry." I admitted. "And I have totally irregular sleepig habits. Also if I don't get my coffee I'll be a raging bit.ch." Jax was laughing.
"I'd love to see you even attempt to be a raging bit.ch." He said seriously.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Is it a bit.chy one?" He asked, his eyes twinkling in amusement.
"Have you ever had a girlfriend?" He widened his eyes at me and nodded.
"Yes." He said simply, his curt answer reminding me of his brother.
"Did you love her?" He shrugged.
"I was young. Who knows what it was?" I nodded.
"So the girls now, do you just fu.ck them once and then you're done or do you keep them around for a while?" Jax widened his eyes again and leaned back.
"Why?"
"I'm just wondering what goes into the mind of a playa."
"I don't think you can pull of saying playa." he repeated, shaking his head. "And to answer? It depends on the girl."
"Depends on what exactly?"
"What are you getting out of this?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at me.
"Why do I have to have an ulterior motive besides getting to know you better?" I asked.
"Because you're a girl." It was my turn to laugh.
"Okay okay, I'm thinking maybe if I can get into your pervy head I can find a way to make a good girl stick around."
"Ahh, you see that's the trick. I never go home with the good girl." He winked at me and I smirked.
"You mean the good girls don't agree to go home with you."
"Are you crazy? Good girls love bad boys." he smirked back at me making me roll my eyes at him again.
"That's bullshit." I retorted, just making Jax's grin wider.
"You're the living proof that it's 100% true." Shit. He kind of had a point. Kind of.
"I'm not that good and Travis is not that bad." I replied, crossing my arms over my chest.
"You can't resist longer than 30 seconds without mentioning my brother, uh?" he teased but what the hell? He'd been the one to bring him up this time.
"If what you say it's true, you should have plenty of good girls at your feet."
"I do." he shrugged.
"I see none." I pointed out, looking around the room for his imaginary girls.
"You know, the problem with good girls is that they're dying to get with the bad boy, because we're admittedly the most charming ones." I elbowed him, "But once they get us? They don't know how to handle us."
"I handle your brother just fine." I said back.
"I thought you weren't that good and my brother not that bad."
"We met halfway." I grinned at him before pushing my hair back, noticing his phone vibrating once again, "Is that one a good girl?"
"I don't know, you tell me." he shrugged and waited for him to describe that cryptic comment. "It's your sister."
"Oh my god you're kidding me." I said, feeling my mouth drop open and when he shot me a smug grin, I recovered. "Don't play games with her, she already have enough on her plate."
"Don't worry Lil, I told you...it's platonic. I like talking to her, and if she didn't have a son? She could be the perfect woman for me."
"I don't like how you're talking about my nephew." I said seriously, more protective of my family than anyone else.
"Calm down Lil, I like him a lot. I'm just saying that I couldn't give her what she needs and having a kid makes things more complicated, that's all." he explained. "And beside that, I'm not looking for a serious relationship so stop playing cupid."
"Do you want to fuck her?" I asked, raising my brow.
"She's beautiful." He shrugged. "But I told you, it's platonic." I nodded slowly.
"Colbie's no good girl." I smirked sipping my beer and Jax rose a brow at me.
"No?"
"Hell no." I laughed. Colbie had been a bit of a wild child and only settled down when her ex knocked her up and she realized she was going to be a mom. She settled down, got married and then got her realtors liscense all before she even had the baby.
"Interesting." He smirked.
"My sister was the one who'd sneak me beers when I was in high school, and find ways for me to hang out with boys without my brothers finding out."
"You seem close." I nodded.
"We are." I agreed. "She's different now though. Like the old Colbie always wants to get out but she can't let it. She does sometimes with me though."
"Tell me more about her bad girl phase." He smirked.
"She got grounded for a month when Reece found a joint in her purse." I laughed. "He threatened to call the cops on her."
"For a joint?"
"Reece is a little intense." I admitted with a wince. "That man needs a girlfriend to focus on so he can stop obsessing with his family." Jax laughed.
"Tell me about you and your brothers when you were growing up." I smirked. "There must be plenty of stories there"
"Why are you asking me?!" he protested, though he was still grinning, "Ask my brother!" I poked him and he grabbed my hand.
"I already did...ouch!" I pulled away after he nipped at my finger.
"That didn't hurt." he said nonchalantly, watching me in amusement as I rubbed my finger.
"He told me something...but I want to know the juicy details about him, the ones that he'd never tell me."
"The embarrassing ones you mean?"
"Yep." I nodded, bumping shoulders with him. "See, you always get me."
"I don't know...let me think."
"Faster!" I urged, desprate to know as much about my man as I could get. "Please."
"I don't know, I don't think he ever did something embarrassing...not that I remember." he shrugged, which was bullshit again.
"That's impossible." I pouted, "Do you really want me to think your brother is perfect?" Jax laughed again.
"You should ask my mom, I'm sure she has a lot to tell you. We were all hard to handle, but Travis? Damn he was a hurricane when he was little. If he disappeared and you didn't see him for longer than a minute, he had to be up to something for sure. He was the master of mischief and would do anything to get some attention...being the little one was hard on him sometimes, but he made sure to step up and prove he was just as bad as us."
"How old was he when all of this happened?"
"He was like this until high school." he shrugged, then added, "You would've loved him even back then. But where were you? In kindergarten?"
"Oh ha ha, I'm so young." I rolled my eyes. "I was in like the 5th grade instead." Jax laughed harder, shaking his head.
"Leave it to Travis to fall for a baby." He smirked and I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Shouldn't you be going out by now? Aren't there slu.tty girls waiting for you at all the clubs?" I asked, leaning back against the couch.
"Probably." Jax grinned and wiggled his brows at me. "Do you want to come with and be my wingman?"
"What would that include exactly?" He shrugged.
"I'm not sure, I've never had a woman do it."
"What do Trav and Adam do then?" Jax shrugged.
"Mostly we just get a booth and women come to us." I was tempted to smack him, but honestly? All three Cole men in the same place were pretty much a woman magnet. Too bad for them Jax was the only one left single.
"And since they're both taken you get your pick."
"Lucky me." He agreed.
"You're awful." I laughed.
"Is it because I look too good? That's not even my fault."
"Stop it, silly man!"
"No need to use violence." Jax shook his head, massaging his arm as if I had actually hurt him. I sighed and rolled my eyes, leaning to press a kiss against his cheek.
"Better now?"
"Your kisses are magical." he grinned finally and nodded. I felt my face blush at the intimate compliment.
"Thank you." I said simply. Travis studied me for a moment as I licked my lips and looked away from him.
"You're welcome." he paused to offer a smile, "So, do you want to go out or not?"
"I dunno, do you?"
"Hey, I asked you first."
"Fine. Maybe I'll get you a higher class of woman." Travis laughed.
"My guess is with you next to me no women will come up to us." I blinked.
"Why?" He shrugged.
"You're hot. Why would they try if they thought I already had you?"
"I'll pull them aside and tell them we used to be together but I wasn't enough for you sexually." I laughed at myself as Jax laughed with me.
"That might work." He said finally, grabbing my hands to pull me up.
"Go put a new shirt on though....something blue."
"What?" Jax wrinkled his eyes at me. "Why?" I shrugged.
"Just trust me on this one." I said, knowing how the blue would bring out his eyes and make him even more gorgeous than he already was.
"Fine." he pulledo off his tee and tossed it on the floor on his way to his bedroom. Good lord men were slobs.
"Is the floor your new hamper?!" I called after him.
"Don't stress me Lil and don't talk like youre my girlfriend." he yelled back and I followed him, leaning against his door frame and wincing at the awful state his bedroom was in. Good thing he was so good looking.
"I'm a damn good girlfriend if you ask me." He ran his fingers through his hair, which only messed it up worse.
"I should ask to Travis instead."
"That shirt is not blue." I pointed out, not adding that it still looked good.
"I'm aware of that but thank you for telling me." he smirked wider, putting a pair of boots on before he grabbed his phone and wallet and sliding them both into the pocket of his jeans.
"I'm offended you didn't trust my fashion sense instead." I said, faking a small pout.
"Don't I look good in green?" he asked, pouting when I didn't say something on purpose. "All the blue ones are dirty." I confessed.
"Probably because your laundry is strewn across the apartment like a frat boys." I said sweetly.
"If this is how you are as a girlfriend? You must be epic in bed for my brother to put up with you." I grinned.
"I am." I said seriously, walking out with him and pulling my phone from my purse when it went off.
"Who is it?"
"Trav." I told him before hitting the accept button. "Hey."
"What are you doing?"
"I'm about to go get a drink with Jax. How was your day?" I felt myself go warm and gooey talking to him. I loved Jax, but it wasn't the same way I felt about Travis.
"Good. Come over." I looked up at Jax who was looking thoughtfully at me. He had the same look as Trav when they were really thinking about something.
"Okay." I hung up and grinned at Jax. "I have to go."
"You're ditching me for my brother?" I faked a thoughtful face.
"Let's talk it out....getting naked with my super hot boyfriend or helping his not as hot brother get laid.....which sounds better?"
"You're the worst and I hate you." He said semi-seriously. I leaned in and kissed his cheek.
"I'm the best instead. Good luck tonight."

I stared absintmindedly at my tv, barely focus on the show I was watching and debating if getting up to grab another beer or just leave my ass rest on the couch a little more. I didn't really like spending the night home alone that much, but when all your friends are busy and your brothers too, also you got no girlfriend, what could you do? Tv was the answer, my brain refusing to work enough to read a book. Or anything else. The only thing that was keeping me entertained was my phone, buzzing from time to time from a women which not only was a view for my sore eyes anytime I saw her, but she was fun and smart too. We were totally platonic, always would, and that was probably what made me appreciate her even more.
A knock on my door forced me to get up from my couch, the motion followed by a groan as I made my way to the door. Then I blinked when I saw Lila. "I thought you were with Trav." I said to her pretty face, furrowing my brows together.

I'm from a little city with expensive taste.

I'm from a little city with expensive taste.

I closed the door behind us and stared at Chloe, trying to gauge her reaction but she looked lost. Her eyes took in the space, the way the whole room lit up simply by the daylight. Turning to me, she frowned, "Are we having a picnic? I thought we were going to try that new bistro a few doors down."
I laughed and shook my head, "Lunch can wait. I wanted to show you this place first."

there are certain people you just keep coming back to

I ain't easy and I make you mad, least I ain't sleazy I'm just trying to put the world to rights

I ain't easy and I make you mad, least I ain't sleazy I'm just trying to put the world to rights

I took one last deep breath as I knocked on Tristan's door, keeping my fingers crossed that he'd be home. After talking with Cami, I had decided that it was time for me to see my best friend again, I had come to the conclusion that the amount of time it'd take me to get over him and my sister having some kind of relationship, no matter what kind it was, would be a long one and I couldn't really stay that long with my best friend out of my life. When he opened the door, a surprised look appeared on my face and I lifted the bottle of wine I had in one hand, without saying a word, then when he blinked I lifted the other hand, holding a bottle of whiskey. "I didn't know what your mood would be." I said as I offered a grin to break the ice, realizing that I was really happy to see him.

First things first, get what you deserve.

First things first, get what you deserve.

I made my way to my front door, not bothering to hide the shock on my face when I found Ben standing there. Before I could say anything, he lifted a bottle of wine he had in one hand then lifted the other which had a bottle of whiskey. "I didn't know what your mood would be," My best friend said as he offered a grin to break the ice, looking happy to see me and god only knew that I was happy he was here.

I grinned back at him, feeling relieved for a moment as I opened the door further, "I'm not sure either."

I tapped my food against the tiled floor as I looked down at my rolex. Carl stood there with a smile on his face as the two of us waited for Olivia to get ready and join us. Today was her first day working and the boss was already annoyed. We needed to leave and even though I’m in charge, I dislike being late.
“I’m sure she wants to make a good impression on you Mr. Reid.” He said to me.
“Not being late would be better…” I trailed off, “OLIVIA!!!” I yelled out to her.
“Jeez, relax Mr. Boss-Man. I’m coming.” She said back as I could hear heels clacking against the floor as she walked towards the two of us. If I wasn’t frustrated about being late, I would have thought she actually looked beautiful… Dressed very professional without looking stuffy. It was nice.
“Finally.” I told her with a stare as she smirked at me.

I was born sick, but I love it.

I could practically hear Dominic tapping his foot in the other room, my eyes scanning the clock on my phone to see that I wasn't running behind of schedule. Not too far behind at least. “OLIVIA!!!” He yelled out, his voice echoing through the loft as I peeled the fourth dress I'd tried on off my body and grabbed something simple instead, plain and boring, covering all of my best assets. I stepped into lucky number five and zipped it up by myself, examining myself in the mirror before running my fingers through my hair to give it some volume.

“Jeez, relax Mr. Boss-Man. I’m coming," I said back as I left my room, heels clacking against the floor as I walked towards Dom and Carl.
