Try to do right until my heart breaks by nadiaa featuring mary jane high heels
I paced the
entrance of the Louvre as I waited for Braden to show up. My phone started
ringing as I quickly answered, "Braden, where are you?"
"You're
going to hate me." He said before anything else.
"What?"
I said, immediately hurt, "Babe, this is the 3rd thing you've backed out
of in the past month. You said you wanted to come with me to make up about
Disneyland."
"I run a
nightclub Mila. I'm sorry, but you know my job is pretty much my life. I have
to take care of an issue." He told me over the line.
I knew that, but
he said he loved me, but never spent anytime with me… He always found something
to do instead.
I sniffled,
"But babe, you've been working every night for the past week, can't you
get the manager to take over tonight?"
He sighed,
"Don't cry babe… I know it sucks, but this is really important. We have
some sponsors coming out to check the place. This is going to be good. You'll
see."
I sighed, knowing
that arguing wouldn't help anything. He always found some excuse and some way
to back it up.
"Okay…"
I trailed off before he hung up on me.
I sighed, staring
at all the people walking into the Louvre all dressed up and together… I knew
this wasn't Braden's thing, but I was actually looking forward to it. I was
wearing a f*cking gown… for nothing. I slipped my phone back into my purse as I
slipped my heels off to give me feet some relief. I started walking back
towards the street where I could get a cab before I accidentally ran into
someone.
"Watch
it!" He yelled out. I muttered a quiet sorry as I kept walking,
"Wait, are you okay?" He guy asked again as I stopped suddenly. No, I
wasn't… I had a jacka.ss boyfriend who was entirely selfish.
I
breathed out and turned around as I wiped my face, making sure it didn't seem
like I had just shed a few tears, "I'm fine."
I
turned towards a guy I hadn't ever met, but he was definitely gorgeous in that
California surfer way… which in Paris was different.
"You
sure?" He gave me a small smile.
I
nodded, "Eh, my boyfriend got caught up at work… So i was just going to
head home, get in my PJ's and have some ice cream." I said jokingly, but
it was a good idea.
"But…
you got all dressed up." He said with a grin and I knew he was trying to
appeal to me.
I
gave him a small laugh, "There will always be other times." I shrugged,
"It's no big deal."
He
gave me a small smile and turned to look at the building, "Well… honestly,
I wasn't looking forward to going to this thing, but if I've got a gorgeous
girl on my arm, it might not be so bad." He gave me a small wink.
I
chuckled, "Thanks… you don't have to flatter me. I can see how desperate
you are." I joked with a small wink, "Sure." I nodded as I
slipped my heels back on and we walked inside, "So what's your name
mystery guy?" I asked, looking at him.
"Alec."
He smiled, "And yours?"
"Mila.."
I told him.
"I
never met an ugly Mila." He said smiling, flattering me.
"Thank
you, I think." I said with a small laugh, "How many Mila's have you
actually met?" I asked him, knowing that answer would be small. Mila
wasn't a common name.
"Just
you, oh and Mila Kunis. I haven't met her yet, but she's hot." He said
making me laugh… she was hot.
"Well
that is always nice to." I told him, "So why are you here alone
Alec?" I asked him, "I mean, I don't think many guys go to museums…
at least alone."
He
sighed, "Long story short, I am trying to be more sophisticated." He
said rolling his eyes, "As you can see that has gone so well for me."
I
raised a brow, "Sophisticated?"
He
nodded, "Yeah, and I thought a night at the Louvre would help with that.
The most sophisticated thing from SoCal is girls who's shorts don't show their
asses." He joked making me laugh.
"You're
from California?" I asked grinning.
He
nodded, "Yeah, I moved here for modeling-"
"Wait
a minute; do you work for BMM?" I asked, remember hearing about some guy
who just moved here from California, but I had yet to meet him. He was supposed
to come to the interviews I had for my blog, but never showed.
He
nodded, "Yeah, how'd you know?"
"I
work there too." I grinned, "I run the website."
"Oh!"
He exclaimed, "…I'm sorry I forgot to show up to the interviews…" He
trailed off, scratching the back of his head.
I
smirked, "Don't worry about it. You just won't be on the blog."
He
shook his head, "I didn't do it on purpose. I had band practice that ran a
little too long."
"You're
a musician too?" I grinned.
He
nodded, "I play guitar…"
I
smiled, "Well it seems like you just do everything."
"I
try to." He said with a small grin, "But there is one thing I am
terrible at."
"Only
one?" I asked, teasing him.
"Well
about one hundred, but the relevant one right now is art. I just don't get
it."
"Music
is art isn't it? So you do get art after all." I told him as he nodded.
"True,
I must be perfect then."
"Now
that's a little c.ocky." I grinned at him.
He
shrugged, "I think I deserve to be…" He trailed off, "I do have
the most gorgeous girl on my arm right now."
I
rolled my eyes, but I couldn't help but blush a little bit, "Oh, you are
something else. Do they teach you that in California?"
"Actually,
its just something we're born with. Only us Californian's have it in us."
He gave me a small smirk.
I
shrugged, "Well then I guess I'm very lucky to be on your arm. I'm glad I
have a date with you before all of us Parisian girls fall for you." I
winked at him.
"I've
heard not to trust them…" He trailed off with a small grin, "That all
they'll do is break my heart."
I
shrugged, "Some can… but not all of us. I'm not usually the heartbreaker
when it comes to relationships." I said with a small frown.
"Is
there more to that than your leading on?" He asked with a brow raised.
I
shrugged, "I'm a hopeless romantic… that leads me into some bad
situations."
"I'm
sure you'll find that love you're looking for." He said with a smile,
making me think about it… Was Braden that guy? Or just another guy who was
going to break my heart?
