a million hearts, you're the only one. by sassy
Cami forced a serious face, watching as Gabe wrinkled his nose and read the clue again. She'd told me she'd spent the whole morning and afternoon making clues and hiding them around the loft, the prize Gabe would hopefully find in the end was his suitcase which was packed for our trip in a few days. We hadn't told him yet since we knew once he'd find out, he'd be too excited to sleep. Also, I had had no idea of how to tell him, but fortunately I had her and her great ideas.
A sigh escaped him and I scooped him up into my arms, "Do you need help little man?"
He gave me a frustrated nod and extended his tiny arm in my direction so I could read the clue. "Alright, let's see," I grabbed the card and silence fell over us.
She grinned as she watched us look at the card. I had to say that Cami had done a great job, all the clues so far had been easy to get and silly too, every detail had been planned perfectly, but on this one she had put too thought because neither Gabe or I had idea of what it was about. Then again, her never-ending fantasy and imagination had always been something I really liked about her.
"Oh come on, it's not that hard," She walked over to us and leaned her body against mine, making a silly face at Gabe since he looked on the verge of throwing a fit. Both of us looked at her and she caved, "The clue is the backyard."
I raised an eyebrow before breaking into a grin, "I never would have guessed."
"Obviously," She grinned back and pulled away as I set Gabe back on his feet and watched him dart into the backyard.
The french doors slammed against the wall in the distance and his voice drifted through the air, "There's a pool papa!!"
"A pool?" My eyebrows shot up again and we started walking towards the backyard.
Cami's place wasn't exactly big, but it wasn't small either, she had somehow managed to find one of the few lofts in the whole Paris with a backyard, I had always guessed that she had wanted that because of the house she had grown up in, which was basically a mansion with a pool and everything. It was a nice place, really, but when Gabe was with me I wondered if she ever felt lonely. I never considered her boyfriend of course, silly me.
"It's one of those little pools, only a few inches deep. The last clue is in there and it'll lead him to his bedroom where his suitcase is," She explained.
"You planned everything, uh?" I slid my hands into the pockets of my jeans, fighting the urge to touch her and focusing on my son instead. He was already kicking his shoes off, his eyes not leaving the pool and his grin so wide I had expected him to start squealing in excitement. "He's loving it." I added when she didn't say anything.
She glanced at me briefly before looking back at Gabe, who was now in the pool, his shorts almost skimming the water. "It took me so long, but it was worthy." She said with a smile on her face that got my heart melt. Like always.
"I found it!" Our boy exclaimed and held a small box into his hands, his brows furrowed as he opened it to find another card. "Even little fishes need to sleep." He paused, taking a break from reading already since it was still hard for him. For being 5 only though? He was already so good. "But not in a pool!"
I bit back a grin as I watched him, his face lost in a thought. "So? Where's your next clue?" I asked, eyeing Cami who was smirking and looked pretty pleased with her job.
"I'm a little fish." He reasoned and chuckled, always amused by the nickname he had given to himself since he had started swimming. He couldn't get any cuter. His eyes moved to me, then to his mom. "But I sleep in my bed...to my bedroom!" He said a little too loud, already halfway back to the house when I caught him.
"Not so fast, we need to dry those tiny feet." I grinned at the pout on his lips, keeping his back against my chest as Cami reached for a towel and made faces at our son while taking care of his feet.
He broke into a fit of giggles, his smile so big and cute, "It tickles!"
"Oh really?" His mom widened her eyes and only made him giggle louder, his tiny body wriggling into my hold.
"Stop! Stop!" He begged and when Cami did, he took a deep breath as he reached for her neck, making it obvious that he had no intention to walk to his room.
"Are you ready for the last clue?" She smirked as she held him in her arms, while I followed behind them, wishing I could some way stop time in moments like this, and live them for forever.
"Yes." He nodded his head as a serious look crossed his face, "But can we do it again maman? It's fun!"
I broke into a laugh and poked his nose, "We're not even done yet!"
"I never want it to end!" He exclaimed with his face lit up, always loving whenever we spoiled him with attention and spent time together as a family. And he wasn't the only one to love that.
Cami kissed his forehead and stopped in front of his door, pulling her head back and frowning, "Should we not go in then? We can stay in the hallways forever instead." His eyes widened and then he made a serious face, "What if I get sleepy?"
I laughed again, feeling genuinely happy and content with my life in that exact moment. Running a hand through Gabe's hair and messing it up, I made a serious face that nearly matched our sons, "I think you're tired instead. Maybe we should just go to bed."
"I don't want you to go!!" Gabe rushed out with another pout, this time looking like he might cry.
That was enough for me to stop messing with him, his reaction killing me. He was smart and sure he had noticed how Cami and I had gotten closer lately, the thought of him getting upset because of his own parents killed me. That was why I had always been afraid of trying again with my ex. "I was joking," I pinched Gabe's nose gently and our boy was back to his normal happy self, grinning his handsome grin.
"I want my prize maman," Gabe said seriously and tilted his head back to look at her.
She turned the knob and walked into the room, his eyes darting to his bed immediately and widening as his mom set him back on his feet.
"My suitcase!!" He said while springing it open and going through it despite the fact that everything was neatly packed. We let him look at his new clothes and appreciate his new swim shorts, there were even a few new toys inside that he'd had his eye on for a few weeks now. We tried not to spoil him, but every now and then we gave into temptation. "And toys!!"
"You've been busy," I said quietly, my body close to her as if there were invisible strings pulling us together.
She nodded her head before setting her chin on her shoulder and smiling at me, "I hope you brought your suitcase so I could help you go through it. You always over pack."
I reached for her cheek and brushed my thumb against her soft skin, unable to control myself, but dropped my hand down along my side a second later as I smiled back at her, "I did, but if there's someone who over pack? It's not me."
Her mouth dropped open in fake offense, her gorgeous eyes widening a little and I could swear she was blushing a little exactly where I had just touched her. "It's not me either." She smirked.
As if on cue, Gabe cut into our conversation and grabbed a sweater. "Where are we going? I'm confused." He frowned as his eyes moved back and forth between the heavy cloth and the light swim shorts laying on top of his suitcase.
Cami gave me a guilty face before looking at our son, bending over him to watch him closely. "You should ask papa, it's been his idea." She whispered, but loud enough for me to hear.
"Papa?" He blinked, a small grin on his face which matched Cami's. They were both so adorable I had no idea of how I'd survive to our vacation without spoiling them both.
"We're going..." I trailed off as I tried to keep a straight face, and taking my time since I love teasing my little man. When his lips slowly curved into a pout, Cami elbowed me gently and I finally smirked. "We're going to Nice."
"What's that?" He widened his eyes, looking both surprised and confused.
"It's a place with a beautiful never-ending beach." Cami explained softly, knowing that he'd love that.
There was a silence, my ex and I waiting for our son reaction. And a second later, he broke that silence with a loud shriek before starting to bounce around us like a crazy kid. "Are there fishes too? Can I see them? Will we swim all day?" He asked without even taking a breath, "When are we leaving? I want to leave now!"
Both Cami and I laughed, staring at our son. "We'll take our plane tomorrow." I grinned, one hand messing with his hair and the other laying on Cami's shoulder as I gravitated closer to her.
"And you know what that means," She lifted an eyebrow at Gabe whose face was serious again.
"Bath time and then bed?" He said with a pout while she nodded. "Can I play with my new toys in the tub?"
She grinned, "Only one. The rest need to be repacked since you made a mess on your bed."
"I'll go start his bath," I said into her ear and inhaled her sweet scent, which was so familiar and good that almost left me dizzy.
She tossed her head over her shoulder as I moved behind her, my hand moving from her waist to her lower back as if it was nothing. And it wasn't really much more than that, but even the smallest touch left me craving a lot more. "Thank you," She smiled at me and I forced myself to walk out of Gabe's room. Once inside the bathroom I got myself busy, starting the bath and grabbing everything my boy would need while I let my mind wander free. I couldn't stop thinking that, in 24 hours or so, Cami and I would share a bed again, and even if I had promised to myself I'd be good and innocent, I knew that my thoughts wouldn't be anyway. Having her close to me was enough to make me lose my mind, but with a kid around us 24/7 I'd better behave or I'd end up ruining everything.
"I got Iron Man papa!" Gabe's voice took me back to reality and next thing I knew, there was Iron Man flying through the bathroom and straight into the bathtub and my son was throwing his clothes around as he got naked.
I grinned and shook my head, wondering how we'd ever manage to make him sleep when he was so excited. "I like Thor more." I teased him and he glared, only making me grin wider. I helped him into the bath and kissed his forehead, "I'm going to get your pj's."
I made my way back to his room and I stopped in the doorway, taking my time to watch Cami who seemed to be...off? Very deep in her thoughts at least. "Are you okay?"
She placed a shirt back into the suitcase and eyed me before glancing down at the suitcase. "I'm thinking about what a handful he's going to be," She said quietly. "But I'm excited. What about you?" She grinned and set the toys back inside then leaned over to zip up the suitcase, giving me a great view of her ass.
I grinned back at her once she straightened her posture and set her hands on her hips, shooting me a silly look. "What about me?" I cocked my head to the side.
"Are you okay?" She used my same words, somehow managing to mimic my expression and making me laugh.
"I'm great." I gave her an amused look, my words genuine since I really felt good. I was about to spend so much time with my son and the girl I still loved like the first day, even if nothing was going to happen I was going to be perfectly content with just being with them. "The only thing I'm worried about is how he's going to sleep tonight after getting the big surprise."
She frowned as she looked at me, showing me that we shared the same concern. "I'm afraid you'll have to cuddle him to sleep while I finish packing." She said seriously.
I laughed again, loving how silly she was even if I knew she actually meant that. "I will, but I might fall asleep with him if not before." I smirked at her, watching her as she adjusted Gabe's bed.
She turned in my direction again, "He'd love that." She let out a small sigh and for a moment there was silence in the whole loft. Which was something that didn't really happen unless our son was asleep. "We better check on him, when he's quiet I get nervous." She admitted.
"Someone's turning into an anxious mom." I teased her as we walked side by side to the bathroom, our bodies so close that our arms brushed against each other's at every step.
"Better safe than sorry." She wrinkled her nose before we stopped in the doorway. Gabe was still in the bathtub, his hands joined together as he moved them in the water, as if they were fins. At least, I guessed so. He looked very focused on doing whatever he was doing, and he was blinking his eyes slowly, as if he was fighting the urge to close them.
I leaned closer to her, my hand dropping on her hip as I whispered in her ear, "Five more minutes and he's going to fall asleep."
Cami tilted her head towards me and parted her lips, not speaking but letting her eyes flick down to my lips and then she smiled, "You towel off Gabe and I'll get Iron Man."
I nodded, wondering if she could feel that tension between us whenever we were just inches apart. If she wanted to kiss me as bad as I wanted to kiss her. It wasn't even tension, because it felt really normal to me. Or maybe I was just going crazy and starting to see things where there was nothing to see. "Did you wash your hair little man?" I asked and moved my eyes from hers towards the tub.
Gabe looked startled for a minute and then regained his composure, "I did! But maman has to turn around so I can get out."
"What?!" Her mouth fell open.
"I'm a man and I have man parts... it's inappropriate for you to see me naked," He said seriously while Cami shook her head.
"Where'd you learn that one?" She grinned as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Dylan said he takes baths and gets out on his own," He replied, quoting his friend who was an obnoxious brat. Thank god the little guy would go to another school next year.
"You're barely a man yet," I smirked at him and lifted him out of the bath, encasing him in a towel and squatting down to his level to dry him off. "You're closer to being a baby instead."
"No!!" Gabe protested but giggled as I tickled his sides through the blanket, making a game of drying him off. "That tickles!!"
"You know, I was the first person to see you naked Gabe," His mom said matter of factly.
His eyes widened as he lifted his head to look at me while I nodded, "It's true. Plus she's been wiping your butt for years."
His mouth dropped before he covered it with a hand and giggled, "Hey!! Not anymore because I'm a big boy!!"
Cami laughed and grabbed the doll from the bathtub, drying it off and shaking her head. "Hurry up because it's bedtime for cuties," She said and left the bathroom, letting me dress Gabe.
"I'm not a-" He started to yell before I set my hand on his mouth, almost cringing for how loud he was. One moment he was about the fall asleep and the next one he was wide awake. My little man was a handful.
"Don't scream." I said seriously as I stared into his eyes, lowering my hand slowly and helping him to step into his pj's shorts, "There are other boys in the neighborhood, we don't want to wake them up."
He set his hands on my shoulders and let me finish dressing him, "How do you know they sleep?" He asked, always a smarty.
I couldn't help but grin as I picked him up, "Because it's 10 and all the kids sleep at 10." I explained and tried to keep a straight face, but it was hard. I didn't even know what time it was, but I knew that it was time for him to go to bed or he'd never wake up rested the morning after.
He kept quiet as we walked back to his room, Cami standing in the middle with her hands on her hips and her eyes moving around. If I knew her? She was trying to figure if she was forgetting something. "Can I sleep with you?" Gabe said eventually.
His mom turned in his direction and walked over us, caressing his cheek gently, "I thought you were a man." She smirked at him as she used his words against him.
"But men need maman and papa too sometimes." He pouted, his voice tiny and sweet, which only meant that he was trying to get his way. Too bad we were used to that.
"That's true, and that's why we're here." I explained quietly as I gave him a reassuring smile, sitting on the edge of his bed and laying him in the middle, "But you still have to sleep in your bed."
He set his lips in a straight line, his eyes moving to his mom. "You'll dream of the beach, the sea, the sun..." Cami said in a sweet voice as she bent over him to cover his face with kisses. "Then you'll wake up and we'll make your dream come true."
I smiled at my ex, always a fan of her imagination. There was a whole world inside of her head and it was a beautiful thing. "Maman's right. The night will go so fast you won't even notice." I said to Gabe even if my eyes were glued on Cami.
He looked at us and rolled over onto his side, reaching for his favorite stuffed animal, "Promise?" He asked.
"Promise." She whispered as she kissed his forehead before lifting herself in a straighter position, "Sweet dreams baby."
I did the same and got up, "Night Gabey." I said quietly as I reached for Cami's hand without thinking, leading her toward the door and shooting my son a last smile before I turned the light off.
"I was starting to get nervous that he wouldn't sleep," Camille said seriously, stopping in front of her bedroom door and making me wonder if I'd have to go back home or I'd stay there instead. I had my things with me anyway, since it seemed logic to me to sleep in the same apartment considering that we had a flight to take early in the morning...but she had said nothing about it, so I wasn't sure.
I grinned and took our intertwined hands, bringing them up to my shoulder and letting go slowly as she let both of her hands on my shoulders. "Honestly? I was too," I admitted and pressed a soft kiss against her forehead as I wrapped my arms around her waist. It felt so good and so natural, as if I needed it.
She leaned her body into mine. "Do you still need help packing?" She set her chin on my chest to peek up at me through her lashes.
"I'm packed," I grinned wider. "But if you need help going through your things, I'm willing to waste the rest of my night helping you."
"Oh, do you have a hot date instead?" She smirked and wrinkled her nose, "Is Tristan going to come over and kiss you goodnight?"
"Sadly no," I said with a small laugh, my eyes flicking behind her body to look in her room before returning back to hers. There were little piles all over the floor, stacks of clothes on her bed, and I was sure that there was a mountain of shoes in a corner too, only I couldn't see it. "I have no plans and there's nothing else I'd rather do."
"Now that's a lie," She bit into her lip, making me fight the urge to think about all the things I'd rather do. To her. "But I'd love for you to stay and keep me company."
"As long as I won't have to do anything..." I grinned at her and held her tighter against me as I forced her to walk backwards until we were into her bedroom.
"Won't you help me if I need you to?" She asked, a small pout appearing on her lips and making me want to kiss her. Or groan.
I chuckled instead, trying to get a fucking grip because if this was just the beginning? I didn't know how I'd survive to the whole vacation. I had to get used to have her around so much again, like it had been in the past, only now I couldn't touch her or do...anything basically. "I will only if you'll let me use your kitchen after you're done." I said as I recomposed myself, trying to keep a serious face and failing.
"Are you hungry again?" She asked as she kept biting her lip, making it nearly impossible for me not to glance at her mouth again.
I nodded my head and thought about how having her close was making me starve, I craved her. "I'm a big man, I have needs." I finally answered, realizing how true my words were.
"I bet." She finally let her lip free, leaving me wonder where her thoughts were now. Her hands slid down my chest and stopped there before she pulled away slowly. "The sooner we start the sooner we'll be done."
"Such a wise girl." I took my hands away from her thin body regretfully and ran them through my hair instead, just to keep them busy, and looked around. "I can't even sit anywhere!" I protested as I shot her a grin.
She used the pair of shorts she was holding to hit my arm playfully, "That's the point. You don't have to sit, you're supposed to help me." She grinned back at me.
I sighed dramatically, always ready to be silly with her, "Tell me what to do, I'll be your slave tonight."
"How many pairs of pants will I need?" Cami tilted her head to a side and held up a pair of jeans which, I was sure, would make her ass look great. Not that she needed a pair of jeans to have an amazing ass. She folded them carefully and looked back at me, grinning at the look on my face as tried to push her clothes aside to make room for me to sit on the bed.
"None," I replied and looked up at her, smirking when I saw her grinning. I'd never get how women, who could be pragmatic mostly when it was about their kids, but lost their mind when they had to pack. "It'll be hot the entire time."
"I'll bring five pairs just to be safe," She decided and set five carefully folded pairs back into her suitcase. Good god. Next, she started on her shorts, adding more than ten I was sure. It was absolutely crazy. She wrinkled her nose as I helped her fold her tank tops and shirts, "This is probably boring you to death. I'm sure you have other things you could be doing," She added in a quiet tone, looking lost in a thought and making me wish I could read her mind.
"If I wasn't here, you'd be packing your entire closet," I replied, pulling her from her thoughts and cutting the pile of shirts in half since there had to be 30 there. "I don't think you'll need so many... you'll probably be in a bikini most of the time."
"What would I do without you?" She winked before standing back up and walking over to her closet to get her swimsuits, adding them to the suitcase which looked this close to explode.
"Your life wouldn't be so exciting," I grinned, leaning back with my elbows propping my body up behind me. "Almost done?"
"You're supposed to be the patient one out of us," She grinned, adding a few dresses and then shoes.
"Is that a no?" I smirked, watching as she laid down beside me on her stomach, folding her arms under her head so she could look at me.
"We just started. What happened to that stamina that used to keep me up all night?" She grinned at me.
I raised one eyebrow at her and let my smirk widen as my mind went back to those memories of us, tangled together, lost in each other for hours. "It didn't go anywhere." I paused, torn since I didn't really know if I was supposed to bring up the subject, "But there's a difference between watching you ride me and watching you fold clothes."
"True." She said quietly and bit down on her lip, her cheeks turning a little pinker while I wondered if I should have kept my mouth shut. "Thanks for helping me anyway."
I rolled over onto my side as I smiled at her, pushing my dirty thoughts out of my mind, "I did literally nothing." I said quietly.
"Lies."She wrinkled her nose, looking at me with those intense dark eyes, "Where's your suitcase?" She asked, changing the subject and it was probably for the best.
"In my car." I answered and pursed my lips together, feeling slightly stupid because I had assumed we would've slept together. I mean, in the same place. It seemed like the most logical thing to do since our flight was early in the morning, but right now? It seemed just presumptuous from me. "I wasn't sure if I'd go back home or not." I added.
"You can stay here." She said simply, making me wonder if she had told her boyfriend about this vacation with me.
"Are you sure it's okay?" I asked seriously, never wanting her to do something she could regret later. Truth was, since I had broken up with Celeste, I had stopped worrying about me and if I was doing the right things. I was a single man and I could sleep or do anything I wanted to, but Cami? I didn't know how things were with that man, still I had the feeling that she wouldn't cheat on him with me like she had done in the past.
She shot me a silly face which hid something else, even thought I couldn't put my finger on it. "I thought I'd have the bed all for me at least for tonight..." She trailed off and sighed before grinning, "I'll make room for you too."
"You're just too good to me." I shot her an amused look as I reached for her hand to kiss her knuckles.
Cami smiled wide at the gesture, adjusting her body to face me and leaning into my body like there were magnets pulling us together. "You deserve it," She said quietly, bringing our tangled hands up to my neck and letting go in favor of playing with my hair. "What are you hungry for? I'll make you something."
"You're doing it again," I grinned slowly, setting my hand on her hip. When she was so close, I couldn't help touching her, my fingers danced across her bare skin which felt like silk, sliding under her shirt and caressing her back.
"What am I doing?" She asked curiously, lifting an eyebrow after freeing her lip.
"Being too good to me," I replied simply, wondering where exactly her thoughts were.
"I'm hungry too... It's the least I could do," She cupped the back of my neck and glanced at my lips again for a second, that second being long enough for almost giving in to temptation and kissing her. Almost.
"What do you feel like?"
She grinned, "You're the guest. I'm supposed to spoil you instead."
"Finish packing and I'll make us something," I pulled back slightly, dropping a hand down to her ass and patting it.
"Hey!" She rolled onto her back and let her eyes follow my body as I stood up, stretching and making my shirt rise up.
"Yes?" I asked as I stopped in my tracks, shooting her a straight face or at least trying to, my eyes travelling down her body and lingering on her perfect ass a little too long.
She bit her lip once more, catching me staring, "Oh nothing." She said in a silly one.
I walked over her again, bending over the bed and setting a hand next to her body to support. "Hurry, and don't pack half your room. And don't cheat, I might check later." I grinned as our faces were dangerously close and for a moment I forgot why I was there and got lost into her eyes instead. I pressed a noisy kiss on her cheek eventually and I stood back up, winking at her before heading to the kitchen and leaving her smirking.
I ran my hands through my hair and sighed, wondering how I'd survive to a whole vacation where she'd be half naked most of the time when I couldn't keep my hands to myself even for a night. The attraction between us was just so strong that it was nearly impossible to ignore it, the only chance we had to stay apart was Gabe and sometimes that wasn't enough either. The thing is that we had spent years with absolutely no contact, almost as if we were just brains and thoughts and words instead of bodies too, but now something had changed and whatever it was it was bringing us back together. At least physically. I let out another sigh as I tried to shut my brain off, opening the fridge instead and thinking about what I could make for me and Cami. Focusing on other things, keeping myself busy, had been the way I had managed to get over our breakup, only I wasn't over her at all. I reached for all the ingredients for a turkey sandwich and set them on the kitchen counter, slicing a loaf of bread and kind of spacing out in the process, my thoughts going back and forth between the food in my hands and my ex in the other room.
"Was I fast enough?" Cami's voice broke the silence, surprising me.
I turned my head in her direction and grinned, wondering how long she had been leaning against the doorframe and looking at me. "Never enough." I teased as I cut the large sandwich in two, setting each half on two plates and moving them on the table, them being followed by two glasses of water. It was weird how comfortable I felt in her kitchen. Or everywhere in her house. "Are you all packed cutie?" I asked with a smile on my face, helping her to sit down before taking a seat myself across from her.
"I am and I'm not sure how I fit everything," Cami admitted and grinned, picking at the breads crust and eating a crumb. "You'll have to take my word for it because there's no way I'm going to let you check it."
I grinned wide, the kind of grin that showed all of my teeth. I smiled often, but only Gabe and Cami were able to make me smile that big. And when my son smiled just like me? I nearly died. "Is that your way of telling me you over packed?" I asked and bit into my sandwich as she did the same.
She swallowed as her smirk fell back in place, "No. Definitely not."
"Lies," I kept my gaze locked on hers and her cheeks turned a darker shade of pink.
"You're just looking for an excuse to see my panties," She joked with a wink, taking another bite before blushing even more.
I laughed after swallowing, even if a part of me was cussing because now it was basically impossible for me not to wonder if her bra matched her panties too. "I got a good look when you were laying down on the bed."
She covered a hand over her mouth and tried not to laugh, chewing and swallowing then shaking her head. "That was nothing compared to what you'll be seeing on our vacation," She smirked. "I look pretty good in a bikini."
"You're going to give me a heart attack." I said as I faked a straight face but, truth was, I was serious. Thank god for Gabe being around or I'd walk around with a hard on constantly.
She licked the corner of her mouth as she looked at me with an expression which was a mix of silly, amused, and flattered. "You saw me in a bikini before." She pointed out, reaching for her glass and using it to cover her face as she drank, her eyes still on me though.
"I saw you naked too, but still." I shrugged as if it was nothing, hoping that my face wasn't giving me away. What would I give to touch, kiss and worship every inch of her perfect body. I was starting to think I'd get to a point of our vacation when I'd have no choice but tie my hands.
She swallowed the last bite of her sandwich, breaking eye contact with me in favor to glance at something behind me. "Gabe and I need you alive silly man." She said eventually, getting up and reaching for the now empty plates to set them in the sink.
"I'll wash them tomorrow before leaving." I offered as I got up too, changing the subject because I had no idea of where her thoughts were and I didn't want to take the risk of making her uncomfortable.
She turned around, her silly grin back in place, "I feel like that comes with a price..." She trailed off.
I bit my tongue, forcing myself not to think how I wished she'd pay me, and laughed instead. "I'd ask you a t-shirt for the night, but I doubt yours can fit me." I said with a smirk as I moved closer to her, "This time's for free, it's your lucky night."
"If you're sleeping in only boxers, it definitely is," Cami grinned, joking of course. I knew as a fact that she still found me attractive, I knew that she loved me too, and lately it was easy for me to get carried away with the hope she'd still feel for me what I felt for her. Sometimes I thought I was just becoming delusional. "But if you're dying for a shirt, I still have the one I borrowed the last time I stayed at your place," She said and turned around to start towards her room, waking me up from my daze once again.
I flicked the lights off as I followed behind her, making it to her closet as my voice broke the silence, "Keep it. It looked better on you."
"I don't believe that," She grinned and looked over her shoulder at me, picking the shirt off her dresser and holding it in her hands along with panties. "But thank you... and thanks for the sandwich."
"You're welcome," I smiled at her, leaving out the part where I'd do anything for her and she'd have to thank me for nothing instead.
She took a step back and held the clothes up a little, "I'm going to change and get ready for bed, but make yourself at home."
I grinned at her choice of words, "Make myself at home?"
"Take your pants off and get comfortable," She winked before disappearing in the bathroom, leaving me alone.
I took a deep breath as I took my t-shirt off, my thoughts wandering just like my eyes. I wonder if her boyfriend had been there, keeping her company while I was with Gabe, how their relationship was going, if he knew about this vacation and what he thought about it. Part of me wished that he knew and he didn't like the idea to the point of breaking things with her, so that she'd be free to be mine again. After my shoes and pants came off, I laid down on her bed, the scent of Cami coming from the pillow intoxicating.
She opened the door sooner than I was expecting, looking like an angel. "You're not asleep already, are you?"
I shook my head, keeping my eyes on her and watching as she walked over the bed. Her legs looked never ending and smooth, my t-shirt barely hiding her panties and showing the peaks of her breasts, and then her face...god her face. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. "I don't think I'll get much sleep tonight." I said eventually, noticing the blush on her cheeks when she caught me staring. Could I be more obvious than that? Probably not.
She climbed on the bed and laid next to me, her back resting on the mattress and her head turned in my direction, "Isn't my bed comfortable?" She asked and faked a pout.
I glanced briefly at her lips and grinned as I looked back into her eyes, "It's not like that, actually is almost more comfortable than mine."
Her pout turned into a grin that matched mine, "Oh good. I was about to suggest you the couch." She said as she bit down on her lip and rolled over onto her side, her body a little closer to mine but enough for me to inhale her sweet scent. "Are you too excited?" She asked next, her choice of words making me bite my tongue.
"I've been waiting to leave since the day you said yes." I answered with a smile, giving her the most simple answer and a sincere one too. Only there was so much more to say.
She wrinkled her nose and made a silly cute face that only made me smile wider, her hands sliding under her pillow as she stared at me, "You're just like our Gabey." She said while I wondered what else she was thinking.
"So I've heard." I grinned at her and inched closer as I adjusted my head on the pillow. I kept quiet and still for a moment, not knowing if I could make that contact I wanted so desperately. I stretched my arm out eventually, and tucked her hair behind her ear. "It's been so long since the last time we got to be together for a while."
"We're together now," Cami said quietly, keeping her eyes on me.
I grinned at her words and moved my fingers down her jaw line, letting them barely graze her neck. I wanted to lean into her and kiss her now, but I knew better. "You know what I meant, silly girl," I grinned, using the same hand to pat her ass lightly.
"Get on your stomach," She said out of nowhere, getting onto her knees beside my body. I stared at her with curiosity showing on my face, lifting an eyebrow. "I'm going to help you relax," She explained before I had the chance to talk. I didn't even know what to say, if not yes please.
"Oh?" I grinned, rolling onto my stomach and folding his arms to rest my head against them. "Have you put more thought into becoming my personal masseuse?"
She let out a soft laugh as she straddled my back side, leaning over a little to grab the lotion off her night stand and squirt some onto her hands. "You couldn't afford me," She grinned and slid her hands up his back, all the way to my shoulders and squeezing them. "But luckily for you, I'm in a very giving mood tonight."
I let out a deep breath mixed with a low groan, loving how her hands felt on me even if her touch was very innocent. "If I get lucky tonight, I'll get lucky every night." I said seriously as I adjusted my head so that I could watch her from the corner of my eye.
She shifted against my back, basically sitting on my a.ss while her fingers worked on my lower back while I wondered which color her panties were. "Why do you think that?" She asked, amusement in her tone.
"Because I get spoiled easily and I'm already getting used to your hands on me." I explained as I closed my eyes, hoping that my face wouldn't show my real thoughts that at the moment were focused on the innuendo I accidentally made.
She bent over me, her hands trailing up my back again and then moving past my shoulders, all the way down my arms. "What if you don't instead? Will you throw a fit?" She cocked her head to the side and I felt her hair brushing against my shoulder, her breasts resting against my back through the fabric of the tee.
"I will and you'll have to deal with two kids, not just one." I opened my eyes and found hers looking at me, her face so gorgeous and close that I couldn't help glancing at her lips. It would take me less than five second to turn around, keep her against me and tell her everything I had on my mind before kissing her. Only I couldn't, I didn't want to take the risk of scaring her away when we were supposed to leave for our vacation. Then again, what if Tristan was right about her?
Cami grinned back at me, biting down hard on her bottom lip looking as if a lot was going on in that pretty head of hers but she had no intention to say anything. "You're lucky I'm so patient," She said quietly, forcing a serious face as my lips quirked into a smirk.
"You?" I laughed while staring at her, her eyes leaving mine to explore my bare back. "You mean me instead."
"So then you're the one dealing with two kids," She wrinkled her nose and then grinned wide. "You'll have your hands full this week."
I kept staring while she moved her eyes further down, "Just this week?"
She lifted my eyes back up to mine and moved her hands down to my sides, "How long do you want to stay?"
I pursed my lips together, pondering on her question or more likely pondering on the answer I wanted to give to her. Forever was the only amount of time that sounded good to me, only I couldn't tell her. My face turned serious as I rolled onto my back, her tiny body still straddling mine and giving me a great view of the lace between her legs. "I don't have anything planned until the end of the month." I said quietly as I dropped my hands on her thighs, fully aware that the position we were in wasn't the best one to have a conversation but trying to ignore it anyway.
"That's a long time." She answered just as quietly, her teeth torturing her bottom lip, that being the only thing that gave her away. "I thought you were more successful than that." She added with a grin.
I let out a small laugh, my fingers moving further up the silky skin of her legs on their own. "I'm getting old, they want fresh meat." I joked as I stared at her, too lost into her eyes and warmth by the feeling of how natural and familiar this was being.
She kept her grin in place, even if it looked a little forced now. What was she thinking? "Did you want to stay at your parents house the whole time?" She asked casually as her hands moved up my chest.
I shrugged, "I don't know, I just want to spend all summer with Gabe." I said honestly because that was the reason why I had turned down a few shoots. Even if we'd end up back in Paris? I wanted to make sure I'd be with my son, take care of him, have fun and make him happy. I already knew where Cami was in this equation, but I couldn't make that decision for her, mostly when she had a boyfriend. Also there was my dad's premiere where he wanted to invite her with that idiot, so I wasn't going to bring it up. "And with you." I added carefully, forcing my hands to stop on her knees as I stared at her. "But I don't know if you're busy with work or something."
"My boys are my top priority," Cami smiled back at me, making my own smile stop wavering and setting her hands on top of mine to run her thumbs across my knuckles. "But I'm not sure I've packed enough for an entire month..." She trailed off and grinned at me to make light of the moment and cut through the tension that was always there.
I turned my hands over to take hers in mine, giving her body a good enough yank that she was laying flat against mine. "Good thing we have a washer and dryer there," I grinned at her as she adjusted her body on mine, while I hoped she could feel my heart pounding in my chest.
Her eyes skimmed my lips and before I could make the mistake of tasting them, she hid her face against my neck, her breath hitting my skin and making me think of when she used to pant in my ear while I was buried deep inside of her. I felt her lips curving against my skin, brushing against it in the process. "Are you going to wash my clothes? I could always pack more," She whispered and I groaned. That wasn't what I was expecting, plus I could barely remember what we were talking about.
"You won't need more," I said seriously, dropping a hand down to her lower back, directly above her ass.
She parted her lips. "You're probably right," She replied quietly, not moving and staying in my arms instead. "Plus if I run out of clothes, I can always cut up a few sheets and run around like a jungle woman."
I let out a small laugh that caused my chest to vibrate against hers, the thought of her going around half naked and sexy as hell didn't really make me laugh but I needed to push it out of my brain someway or it'd be the stuck there the whole night. "Will you go wild too?" I asked with an eyebrow raised. Then I realized that once again, my words sounded bad.
She pulled her head back just so slightly to look at me and I could see the blush creeping on her cheeks. " I can't, moms need to act proper for their kid's sake." She said back and bit down on her lip.
"You're the perfect mom." I said quietly as I stared at her with adoration, my hand lifting to push her hair behind her ear before cupping her cheek and smirking, "But for the record? I think that Gabe would love us to dress up like savages."
She broke into a wide grin as she leaned into my touch, her eyes on mine always, "Would you be Tarzan?"
"I don't know, would you be Jane?" I let my grin match hers then pulled her head down, my eyes glancing at her mouth and I was so close to kiss her, but I knew better than give up on temptation, so I let my lips land on her neck instead. For a brief moment, while I places a trail of kisses from behind her ear to her shoulder, I felt like an a.ss. I knew she had a boyfriend and I wanted to respect her, but f.uck me, I was just a man and the right one for her. I closed my eyes tight, focusing on how good she smelt and how soft her skin was as I kept her head in place.
"Didn't she have normal clothes though?" She asked in a tone which was weird, half breathy and half not really, which let me wonder if she was okay with what I was doing. But she didn't move, she didn't pull away, instead she tangled her legs with mine.
A second longer of that and I'd rip her shirt off, I swear I was going crazy. I forced myself to pull my head back and adjust it on the pillow, a smile on my face as I looked at the girl who once was mine. "Tarzan will take you shopping if it's what you need." I winked at her, taking the silly road since the sexy one was sending me straight to hell.
Cami grinned slowly at me and captured the tip of her tongue between her teeth, glancing at my lips once more. "I'd like that," She said softly, setting her hand on my chest and then leaning her chin against it. "Did you pack the speedo?"
"Why do you ask?" I grinned back and listed an eyebrow.
"Because it's sexy," She said while forcing a serious face. "Tarzan wears a loincloth and a speedo is pretty close..."
I stared at her for a moment, wondering how we had gotten to this point, up until she nuzzled my neck again. "I'd hate to tempt you," I replied in a low voice as my hands slid under her shirt to grasp her hips. Adjusting her just slightly, my erection ground against her, the friction feeling so good that I had to bit my tongue until I tasted blood not to groan. At this point? I couldn't think straight anymore. Correction, I couldn't think at all.
"Too late," She whispered back and for a moment I wondered if I had heard it right.
"Cami," I replied, desperate to see her face and trying to read her, but I couldn't even bring myself to touch her more, too afraid of what I could do.
"We should get some sleep," She breathed out with her chest practically heaving against mine. "We have to be up in a few hours."
"Right." I swallowed as I closed my eyes, trying to compose myself. My body was too tense, my breathing too heavy, and on top of that I felt as if my heart was about to jump out of my chest. And I didn't even want to start with what was happening in my boxers. I was losing my mind already and it was the first night.
The room fell quiet, my thoughts still loud in my mind instead, I wondered if we'd sleep like this, tangled one to the other. I was sure it wasn't a good idea, but I didn't want to let her go, I wanted her against me with her warm body resting on top of mine.
She let out a deep breath which caused me only to hold her tighter, then she broke the silence. "Ben?" She asked in a barely audible whisper.
"Yes?" I said back, my voice not even sounding like my own but a lower and croaky version. Talking about being obvious.
"Didn't your mom teach you to say good night before sleeping?" She looked up at me though her dark lashes and I felt my heart explode. I knew what she was doing there, trying to ease the tension between us, and for that and many other things she couldn't be any more perfect.
I smiled genuinely, fully aware that by the end of this vacation I'd only love her more. "I wasn't sleeping just yet." I said quietly and tilted my head down to brush my nose against hers before pressing a kiss on its tip. I wanted so much more than that, but I should have been grateful to be lucky enough to hold her against me instead. Normally I wasn't impatient or greedy, only Cami had the power of turning me into the opposite. "Night cutie."
