life's a tour, I'm so sure.

life's a tour, I'm so sure.

I stared at the screen of my phone with a grin on my face, my eyes refusing to stop looking at the photo Cami just sent me, her pierced nipple staring at me through the screen and making me wish I could bite it. Instead, I was at the usual coffee shop, waiting for my best friend who was late.
"Thinking about the perfect sext message to send me?" Tristan joked as he magically appear and slipped into the seat across from me, reaching for the full cup of coffee I'd ordered her.
"No." I laughed and shook my head, making the screen on my iPhone go black before setting it down, "Cami was texting me."
"Naked pictures?" He joked, eyeing my cup which was half empty already.
"Actually, kind of," I replied and he grinned with wide eyes. "Hey, don't look so surprised! Just because we're parents, it doesn't mean we're old and boring."
He laughed and smiled at me, "So you keep telling me."
"Out of the two of us," I used a hand to motion between us, "I'm the fun one, remember?"
"How could I forget?" He winked at me.
I smirked and leaned back in my seat, "You're nearly half an hour late. What held you up? And if it was my sister, please spare me the details."
"Your mom did actually," He smirked. "Should I spare you the details still?"
I rolled my eyes but kept grinning, "Were you talking to her about moving offices?"
He shook his head, "You'll need an office before I can request the move to be by my best friend."
"Get ready because it's going to happen soon." I smirked at him, sipping my coffee as I looked at him.
"So you keep saying about many things..." He trailed off, a teasing smirk on his handsome face as he reciprocated the look I was giving him.
I broke into a ridiculously big grin, thinking about many things were going good right now. "Cami and I are engaged." I announced, happy to share the big news with my best friend.
He didn't look surprised even a bit, but shot me a genuine smile as he clasped his hand around my shoulder, "Congrats Ben!" He paused to shake his head, "It was about d.amn time." He added.
I nodded in agreement, since yes, it had taken really too long. I had always known Cami was the one for me...better late than never though. "I know. You're the first to know, after Gabe of course."
"I feel special." He grinned back at me, a hand to his heart as he made a silly face, "I'm honored, really."
"As you should be." I pointed out, leaving it at that as I focused more on the expression on his face. He seemed relaxed, in a good mood...a better one than he had been for a while now. I found myself hoping my sister was the cause of that. "You'll feel even more honored when we'll go shopping together. And now just us...Gabe too. He said he wants to match us."
Tristan broke into a laugh, "Will we all be matching?! If we show up in the same tux, I'll put you to shame and we can't have that happening on your big day."
I shook my head and laughed with him, "You're an ass."
"Maybe," He smirked. "And if the kid is matching us? What's the point in even dressing up? It'll be Gabe's big day instead of yours."
I grinned and nodded my head, "Now you have a point there. My son is pretty damn cute."
"I agree." I let out a sigh, a content one since I felt happy relaxed. I was engaged and my friendship with Tristan was back on its usual track, I had no reason to complain. "So have you set a date yet?"
"Cami suggested Spring," I started and got lost in my thoughts for a moment. "We agreed on April, but we haven't decided on a date yet. I guess it'll come down to when we can book the venue."
"Ah, the dreaded wedding planning," He lifted a brow. "Will you be helping her plan or are you one of those guys who expects the bride to take care of it all?"
"You know, if Cami was the kind of girl who starts obsessing and goes crazy wanting to organize everything, I'd probably step aside and let her do whatever she wants." I started explaining, hoping to get it right. I knew my girl, she wasn't the crazy kind.
"I can't see Cami becoming like one of those girls you see in wedding shows." He pointed out, basically agreeing with me.
"Do you watch that shows?" I asked with one eyebrow raised, amusemed on my face.
"Sure, I do while I knit." He answer back with a grin as big as mine, his sense of humor one of the things I liked the best about him.
I only smirked wider at his words, but went back to the subject at hand. "I told her I'll do anything she wants me to do. I don't really have an opinion about how things have to be at our wedding, all I care about is that I'm marrying her. So as long as I have Cami and a macaron tower? I'll be happy."
"No wonder why she's marrying you." He replied, bringing his cofee to his mouth to take a sip.
"Nah, she's marrying me for my looks and because we make cute babies." I joked as I shrugged my shoulders.
Tristan cracked a grin, "Yeah, Gabe mentioned that the other night."
I lifted my brow at him, "Oh, have you been hanging out with my son?"
He laughed and nodded his head, "I was at Chloe's when your mom brought him over... You might need to watch out, Gabe might soon take your place as my best friend."
I laughed along with him and rolled my eyes, "I'd be heart broken."
He grinned wider and shook his head, "Can we go back to what you were saying about your wedding requirements? Did you seriously say a macaron tower? What the fuck is that??"
"Right. I forgot you were Australian," I said with an exaggerated sigh, like he was the crazy one.
"I know what a macaron is... but why?? Why do you want a bunch of macarons shaped like a Christmas tree?" He asked while trying not to grin even more like an idiot.
"First of all? It's not like a stupid Christmas tree. It's a cone. Didn't you do geometry in high school?" I asked back, with a teasing grin playing on my lips. "And I don't know, I love macarons." I added, shrugging.
He kept smirking, looking beyond amused, "Sure, who doesn't, but why? It's so random."
I thought about it, then again, there was no reason. "I won't get to decide anything...I just like the idea of eating my favorite sweet on my wedding."
He shook his head, but his grin didn't fade. "I swear, you kill me Ben."
"You still look very alive to me." I pointed out, sipping what was left of my coffee. "And wait a moment. Did you just say you spent time with Chloe and my son? Damn." I said as I grinned a little, knowing how he wouldn't do that if things weren't going really good between him and my sister.
Tristan grinned and nodded, "We babysat him. You're welcome."
I laughed and shook my head, "The coffee is on me today, so you're welcome."
"Thank you," He said with a grin, pausing and looking lost in a thought for a moment. "So have you ordered another baby yet?" He added with his grin widening.
"I put in an order this morning, so we'll see," I winked and he tossed his head back to laugh.
"Too much info," He replied.
"Too much info?!" I said back, "I only told you that I had sex with my fiancè."
He grinned, "Still."
"I didn't tell you we were in the shower and-" I started and he cut me off, raising one hand.
"I got that, thank you." He laughed and I did too with him. "If you keep that up? You'll have your kid before you get married."
I kept smirking at him, felling almost high for how happy I was, "I doubt that, but never say never."
"Kids are a lot of work, you might want to think about that." He pointed out.
"I know that, I have one already, remember?" I said in a teasing tone.
"But Gabe's a big boy now." He went on, and I knew he was right.
I faked a serious expression, staring at me, "Are you worried I won't have time for our dates anymore?"
Tristan snorted and shook his head, "No, our dates would still happen but your sex life would be toast."
I grinned and raised a brow, "Because I'd choose our dates over having sex with my fiance?"
"I'm glad you agree," He grinned back, wide and goofy. The waitress passed by and he asked for a refill, along with a croissant. I was shaking my head at him and still grinning. "Gabe mentioned that you guys were going to paradise for your honeymoon. Do they have cell reception there?"
I laughed and kept my eyes on him, "You're sounding so needy."
He shrugged his shoulders and tried to fake a serious face, "Who's supposed to give me advice? You're my only friend."
I let the grin on my lips widen, something that happen a lot wheneve I was with Tristan, "I'm not going to lie and say it doesn't make me feel good."
"What? That you're my only friend?" He asked, a hint of amusement in his tone.
"I'm the best, how could anyone ever compare to me?" I asked as I tried to keep a straight face but failing miserably.
He laughed lightly at my words, shaking his head too, "You're too confident and it's probably my fault."
"But." I paused when the waitress approached our table again and set a chubby croissant under Tristan's nose. "It's only fair because you're the best too."
"Now, that I like better." He grinned before sinking his teeth into the croissant, looking famished. "But you have other friends." He added after swallowing.
"Like who?" I asked as I raised one eyebrow. I didn't have much time for friends anymore, I was always with Cami, my son, my family or Tristan. Or I was working. Honestly, I didn't need anyone else in my life either.
"Sean." He answered simply.
"Jealous again?" I grinned, "I'm done with models. From now on I'll date only successful businessmen."
Tristan's lips quirked into a smirk, "Oh, you have a type now? I thought you preferred adorable, doe eyed brunettes with a hidden kinky side."
I groaned at his last words, "I'm never going to talk about my sex life again. You forget nothing." He laughed and took another bite of the croissant, shrugging his shoulders. "Do you have plans for this weekend?"
He started to shake his head while swallowing, clearing his throat, "Chloe's making me dinner since the last time she offered, we ended up babysitting and eating pizza. And watching The Avengers. Twice."
I laughed and relaxed in my seat, "Gabe loves that one."
"I've noticed," He replied.
"He was so excited when he came back home." I explained, a smile on my face while I thought about my adorable son, "He said he had a great time with you and Chloe and he's happy that you two are coming to the wedding so that he'll have someone to play with."
My best friend laughed lightly, "It sounds like I'll be too busy with your son to pay attention to you too."
"Don't you dare." I said as I kept a straight face only to break into a grin a second later. "Luckily for you there will be Chloe to help you with him."
"Yeah." He nodded, a small smile on is face that I was sure hid more.
I studied his expression, "You two are spending a lot of time together." I pointed out quietly.
"We are," Tristan nodded once more. "I have fun with her... she's unlike anyone I've ever dated."
I snorted, "She's one of a kind. That's for sure."
He laughed and then smiled at me, "So you two are okay now?"
"We are," I nodded my head and got lost in my thoughts for a second. "I told her about the job position our parents offered me."
He widened his eyes, looking surprised. "And how did that go? You're still alive, so I'm assuming well?" He grinned.
"Yeah it went well." I grinned back at my friend and how silly he could be sometimes. Rarely. But when he was? That was a really good sign. "For a moment I thought she was about to lose it and I'd have to give up on everything."
He raised one eyebrow slowly, "How so?"
"When I started talking, telling her I wanted to take the agency over...she thought I wanted to cut her out the family business. As if I was stealing her dream." I explained to my friend.
"I thought she liked modeling instead." He pointed out, never missing a beat.
"Then why do you think she was going to school?" I widened my eyes, making a silly imitation of my sister that made him laugh. "Really though, part of me was hurt she'd think I'd go behind her back. But as soon as she gave me time to explain it all...she seemed excited instead. Maybe now we can stop fighting and have a nice brother-sister relationship."
"Well I'm glad," Tristan said seriously. "It's good to hear that you two are talking again, even if you guys have a weird relationship at times," He added, which was also true sometimes.
"Speaking of weird, did you tell her that you don't like her modeling in her underwear?" I lifted a brow and grinned, approving since she was my little sister after all.
He shook his head, "She's a lingerie model, its her job." I nodded while I waited for him to get to the part that bothered him. "I made the mistake of googling her the other night... It's the topless pictures, the fully naked ones. When my dad hears that I'm dating her? He's going to Google her and see my girlfriend naked and that is what I have a problem with."
I raised one eyebrow at him, "Why should your dad google her?" I asked back.
"I don't know, it could happen." He shrugged nonchalantly.
"If it makes you feel better I don't like seeing those pictures either." I cringed, because it was never nice when I got remembered that my sister was actually a woman. To me, she was my little Chloe. "But they're out and even if she's going to stop with that kind of shoots, old pictures are still going to float around. Honestly, I don't know what I can tell you to make you feel better."
He deflated into his seat and I could see the frustration on his handsome face, "Would you like it if there was Cami in those pics instead?" He asked, trying to make a point and I realized that maybe I hadn't explained myself properly.
"Are you kidding me? I'd never share her dressed, let alone naked." I grinned at my friend then forced a serious expression again, "I'm with you on this one Trist, I even tried to talk to her but all I could get was her bringing up my pictures instead." I explained with a sigh, "You know my sister and how she is, but if she's willing to stop posing naked because of you? That says a lot."
Tristan nodded because I had a good point and he knew it. "You're right," He replied eventually and I grinned at him.
"It doesn't change things though, huh?" I questioned, knowing that if I were him, I'd go crazy. Hell I went crazy even without being him,
"I'll get over it," He said with a shrug. "So when are you getting your new office?"
I laughed and raised a brow, "Done with that topic?"
"Yes," He nodded his head seriously.
I sighed a silly sigh and smirked as I kept my eyes on my best friend, "It seems fair. I'm already shocked enough you talked to me about it at all."
This time it was his turn to raise a brow, "Forgive me if I wasn't sure to share my annoyance because your sister has naked pictures all over the internet."
"You're right. Let's drop it." I made a face, not liking to think about that myself, "Let's talk about work instead."
"Boring." He retorted, his signature smirk back on his face, "But I'm still interested in when I'll be start my day knowing my best friend is working next to my door."
"I can see your excitement." I teased him even though it was true, "I'll start on January I think...new year, new life."
"That'll be here faster than you think," Tristan said seriously. "Are you sure you'll be able to get any work done having to see this handsome face all the time?" He added and grinned wide at me.
I laughed and shook my head, "I guess I'll have to try."
He matched my laugh and leaned back in his seat, looking content. "Do you and Cami have plans for New Years Eve?"
"Not yet, but we were thinking about leaving for a little while... a small vacation," I shrugged my shoulders.
"Where to?"
I thought about the conversation I had had with my fiance, "Not sure yet. Cami's taking care of it, but we agreed on going to the Alps." I explained.
"To do what?" He asked back, looking as if I just told you I was going to the moon.
"Ski? Be lazy? Make babies? Make snowmen?" I said back, making a list of all the random things crossing my mind as I felt a smile widen my lips, "How does that sound to you?"
He smirked as he kept his eyes on me, "It sounds silly just like you. Relaxing too."
I pursed my lips together for a moment, lost in my thoughts as I considered what I was about to tell him. I didn't know if it was a good idea. "You and Chloe should come too for a few days." I said eventually, knowing how much my sister needed a vacation and I could use some time with all the people I loved the most in the world. Weren't winter holidays done for that? Plus, Gabe would be electrified.
Tristan's eyes widened and stared at me for a moment. "Come again?" He said slowly and I rolled my eyes.
"I'm serious," I shrugged it off like it was nothing. "Chloe's been hinting about going away anyways and Gabe would love it if you were there to play with him."
He grinned and nodded his head, "I see. You want us to babysit your kid while you and Cami make babies."
"Well now that you mention it..." I trailed off and grinned before laughing, giving my head a shake. "Not at all. I just think it'd be nice to get away... all of us."
He nodded his head, looking lost in his thoughts for a moment, "When are you guys leaving?"
"I think the day after Christmas. My mom would get crazy if we missed the annual dinner." I said as I grinned, thinking about how many things had changed in a year.
"And how long are you going to stay?" He went on, raising a brow.
"Until the weekend after new years eve." I explained and did my best not to think what was waiting for me in the new year. It was both terrifying and exciting.
"So...one week? A little more?"
I nodded, "A deserved break before January craziness."
He groaned since in our industry January was always a nightmare of a month. Fashion weeks happened and you wished the day was made of 48 hours because time was never enough. "I don't even want to think about it."
I smirked at the expression on my friend's face, "So you're coming with us or not?" I asked, pushing him a little.
"I'll have to look at the dates and think about it..." Tristan trailed off and I raised a brow in response. "You know how I am about missing days at work."
"You'll already be getting most of them off since the agency will be closed for the holidays," i pointed out and he nodded his head. "You'd be missing one or two days tops. My mom won't kill you, you know?"
He grinned at me and lifted his own brow, "But since it'll be the new year, won't you be my boss instead?"
I laughed and nodded my head, "Exactly. Now you really have no excuse."
"I feel like your playing favorites though," He said while trying to fake a serious expression.
I shrugged, "Well you are my favorite casting director, so..."
He laughed and looked real relaxed for once. "Everyone's going to hate me since I'm your favorite and all," He joked back.
I shrugged again as I kept my eyes on him, "What's new? I'm sure everyone will expect that."
He grinned, "I'm not sure if I'm ready to be hated though."
"You already have me as best friend, why would you need anyone else to be your friend?" I reasoned out loud as I tried to keep a straight face, but failed.
"You make awfully good points." He commented, his grin still in place.
I smiled at my friend, happy that our friendship now was stronger than ever, "As long as they convince you."
