find another one 'cause she belongs to me

"Lil....what is happening?" I asked, looking around my kitchen as Lila zoomed around.
"I'm cooking!" She said, smiling happily.
"Are you?" I smirked and opened the oven, more than surprised to be honest. Not only she had told me she wasn't able to cook, but she had also added that she had no intention to learn. "Nothing is burning."
She shot me a look. "I'm making pasta with chicken and garlic bread, there's wine chilling in the fridge."
I smirked, watching how hard my girl was trying to focus on everything she was doing. "I'm impressed." I pointed out and she grinned at me. "What's the occasion?"
She shrugged. "I just felt like doing something for you." She admitted. "I'll admit, Colbie helped a little."
I laughed. "It's cute to see you in an apron." I chuckled, pouring two glasses of wine and handing her one.
"I'm almost done I just have to add the sauce to the pasta and then wait 5 minutes to take out the garlic bread."
I lifted my glass to my lips, taking a sip and staring at her. I was...speechless. I had always told her in the past how I would've liked to come home to a cooking girlfriend, but it was more a dream than something I expected to really happen since Lila wasn't big on cooking. Apparently, she was changing, doing it for me to make me happy.
She poked my stomach, her bony finger pressing against my hard abs as she bit down on her lip, "Why are you staring at me like that?!"
"Because you're gorgeous and you're doing all this for me." I said softly, smiling at her as I cupped her face and kissed her gently.
She leaned into me immediately, closing her eyes and giving in to my kiss. "You better stop distracting me or our dinner will be ruined." She whispered against my lips.
"I'll be good, I promise." I grinned and pulled away regretfully, leaning against the kitchen counter as I kept my eyes on her, watching her, studying her, thinking how weird this was. Weird and good. "You look comfortable in my kitchen." I pointed out before taking another sip of wine.
"Who knows, maybe I could even get used to cook." She teased me, pouring the sauce over the pasta then she grabbed the plate with garlic bread.
"I could get used to this instead." I said back seriously, wondering if this was what had been missing in our relationship before. Maybe we hadn't been trying hard enough. She was trying now and I had to, wanted to too.
She shot me a smile, "I hope you're hungry." She said softly before breaking into a chuckle, "I hope it's edible."
I smirked at her as we sat at the table, eyeing the food in my plate, "It smells delicious." I commented, almost salivating at this point. I took a bite. Damn. "Baby we just discovered your hidden talent. It's delicious."
"Is it?!" She asked, sounding more surprised as I was and literally glowing as she took a bite herself. "It is!"
I nodded, swallowing another forkful. "You did good. Great actually." I said honestly, realizing that we had never been this...coupley? If that was even a word. "You should keep the keys of my home." I added, deciding that this is my way of trying. It didn't mean we'd go living together but it meant that she could come and go from my place whenever she wanted to.
"Okay." Lila shrugged and didn't add anything. What was I expecting? Maybe it was a good sign that she wasn't saying anything. "But don't expect Chef Lila every night, this was exhausting." She admitted, gulping down a big sip of wine.
I chuckled. "I wont cutie."
"How was your day?"
I reached out to tuck her hair back and she leaned into my touch, "It was long." I said shortly, more interested in how this day would end instead. "This is nice to come home to."
"Now you have a whole weekend free." She smiled, taking a bite out of the garlic bread.
"I do." I nodded. "I plan to spend it in bed."
She widened her eyes. "Are you sick?" She asked, cocking her head to the side.
I chuckled and laughed. "Nope."
"Sounds like a relaxing weekend." She teased, refilling both our glasses.
"I doubt it."
She laughed and leaned in to press her lips against mine gently. "I doubt it too." She whispered.
"What about you?"
"I painted for half the day and then I had my cooking lesson with Colbie." She smiled. "She was suppossed to stay until it was finished but she ran off. I think she's with Jax."
I rose a brow. "Is that still happening?"
"Apparently." She nodded and shrugged. "Colbie wont really talk about it that much, but...I don't know she's different. She's seems younger and happier lately."
I gave a long look to my girlfriend, for the first time in weeks I was thinking about something different from her or myself. I had been selfish and I knew it, pushing away even my brother an my family, but I had been through so much pain all I had been focused on was work. And not even that to be honest. "I don't know how good that could be." I pointed out slowly before starting eating again.
She raised one eyebrow, her jaw working then she swallowed. "Why? Don't you like my sister?" She asked.
"I don't know her much, but yes she's a lovely woman." I shrugged since this wasn't my point.
"What's bad about them spending time together?" She questioned slowly as she set her elbow on the table and stopped her fork midair.
"She has a son." I answered matter of factly, because that in my opinion was a deal breaker no matter how hot the woman could be. Hell it was what had stopped me to make a move on her in the first place and now I was happy about that...maybe it was destiny for me to meet the younger Trenton.
She watched me closely as she chewed, her brows furrowing together and making me smirk a little for how silly she looked right now. "So what?"
I gulped a sip of wine, keeping my eyes on hers, "Oh come on Lil, you know what I mean. Will is a great kid but Jax is not the best choice for Colbie."
"They're just having fun." She pointed out, stubborn as always. I liked that she seemed to be back to her usual self.
"For now." I retorted then I bit into the garlic bread, tempted to sigh too while I wondered when I'd get a dinner like this again. If ever.
She broke eye contact in favor of focusing on what was left of her pasta, "I like them together." She commented in a final tone.
I finished my food, leaning back in my chair and looking at Lila. "I haven't talked to Jax much lately, but I will soon. I'll figure out how things are between them."
She nodded, licking the extra sauce off the corner of her mouth, "Do you really think what you said about me and Jax?" She asked point black.
"No. I know you're just friends." I answered without missing a beat, then leaned into her with a smirk on my face, "But I'm an asshole. One that loves you, but still an a.sshole."
She grinned back at me, closing the distance between us with a kiss, "I'm glad you finally admit that." She said, literally glowing as she pulled back.
"That I'm an ass?" I teased her, pouring more wine into our glasses, "I've always said that instead."
Lila laughed. "Maybe I just like hearing you admit it."
"Silly girl."
"You're trying to get me drunk." She teased, tipping her glass to mine.
"I don't need to do that." I grinned.
She ate the last bites on her plate. "No you don't." She agreed as she set her food aside and climbed onto my lap, wrapping her arms around my neck.
"What's up Lil?" I asked because there was that look into her eyes-
She shrugged and kissed me softly. "I like you."
I laughed and grabbed her hips. "I like this apron." I teased, fiddling with the ties behind her back.
"Oh god I forgot I was even wearing it." She laughed. "I feel super coupley." She added.
"Me too." I agreed. "Is it bad?"
She shook her head. "No....no it's just...different. In a good way."
I held her tighter and started kissing up her neck. "I can think of some coupley things we can do that will feel more like us."
She leaned her head back. "Oh? You should tell me them." She arched into my lap and I groaned.
"Lil."
She reached out to trace my lips. "What's up?"
"Thanks for dinner." I said honestly, genuinely thankful.
She smiled. "You're welcome." She took a deep breath, making me hold mine as I waited for her to go on. "I'm so glad I have you." She whispered softly, her voice breaking a little.
"Let's see how long it lasts." I said in a teasing voice but realized how wrong that sounded.
She frowned immediately, "What do you mean Trav, you said-"
I cut her off, placing a hand on her mouth gently as I bore my eyes into hers. "It came put all wrong. I was just being silly..." I trailed off, sliding my and back down before motioning between us. "I want us to last. I meant there will be days when you won't be this happy to have me. I'm not the perfect guy you'd probably deserve with you."
She seemed to be relieved by my words, running her fingers through my hair, "I know. But I fell in love with you, with your flaws and all. And even when you'll drive me crazy for how stubborn you are or with one of your tantrums, I'll always be glad to have you with me." She said softly.
I pressed my lips against hers, hoping she won't change her mind ever. "I'm a lucky bastard." I grinned and watched her roll her eyes. I squeezed her a.ss in return before standing up and setting her on her feet. "I need a smoke."
She glared at me, shaking her head, "Now, that's something I don't really like about you." She pointed out.
"I'll be fast...you can wash the dishes in the meantime." I said with a shrug, faking a serious face.
Her eyes widened, letting me know she was buying that. "You better be kidding me."
I laughed, setting a cigarette between my lips, "I am. I'll was them later baby. You already did more than enough." I said honestly, having good manners because my mom taught me so.
"You're going to freeze." She sighed as I headed out.
"You'll warm me later." I said loud enough for her to hear and lit my cigarette.
"Couldn't you smoke weed like everyone else I know!?" Lila shouted after me.
I peeked my head in the door and rose a brow at her. "We're going to revisit that when I come back." I heard her laugh and finished my sigarette before heading back insted. "Now what was that about weed?" I asked as I wrapped my arms around her while she made coffee.
"Oh nothing." She laughed.
"Did you actually do the dishes?" I asked, looking at the sink.
"No I just put them in the sink." She wrapped her arms around my neck. "We should go out or something this night is making me feel old."
I laughed. "Super old." I shook my head. "Hey I turn 25 in a few months. That's halfway to 50!"
I laughed again. "What about tonight is making you feel old?"
"Well for one thing I just brewed a pot of decaf at 6:00 pm on a Friday."
"That was your idea not mine."
"I never said you were old." She teased.
"Baby if you are? I'm ancient."
She laughed as I poked her sides. "TRAV!" She giggled.
"Did you know...that I have a hot tub?"
She rose a brow. "You do?!"
"I do." I grinned.
"I don't have my swimsuit."
I raised one eyebrow at her, pretending I didn't notice she was deliberately teasing me. "So what?" I said back with a grin.
She ran her hands up my neck before she looped her arms around my neck, "I'm sure your neighbors will enjoy the show."
I groaned and rolled my eyes, grabbing her hips tightly. "Maybe that's a bad idea." I muttered, not wanting to share her with anyone. It wasn't that I was jealous, but she was mine and mine only to watch and touch.
"Don't get grumpy for nothing." She whispered against my lips before kissing me softly yet temping me.
I bore my eyes into hers, giving her the look that meant I wouldn't change my mind. "You're not going to get naked into my hot tub." I said seriously.
"It was you're idea silly man." She said back but was still smiling, "What do you want to do instead?"
I tilted my head down and kissed her neck, thinking, "Do you want to go out?" I asked, guessing that some time out would do us good. Now that we were back together we had to try to go out with my friends again and I could pray this time would be better.
She shook her head after shivering, "I just got you back Trav...I want you all for me tonight."
I grinned at her, liking her answer. "Here I am."
"Let's go upstairs." She smirked back at me and wriggled out of my hold, pulling away then taking her apron off and dropping it on a chair.
I grabbed her a second later, wrapping my arms around her and keeping her back against my chest. "What do you want to do?"
She leaned into me as we headed to the stairs, "I asked you first." She paused as we walked up the stairs and straight to my bedroom, "You don't have a Christmas tree." She added.
"Where is that coming from?" I asked with a brow raised, taking my hands off of her regretfully to get out of my work clothes. She just shrugged, letting her body fall on my bed. "I always buy it and decorate it with Poppy."
Lila let her mouth drop open as I shrugged out of my dress shirt and pulled my undershirt over my head. "That's really adorable." She said seriously, leaning back against the bed and watching me carefully.
"I hope you're talking about Poppy."
She smirked. "Yes."
"You should come with us. Poppy loves you." I suggested, loving the idea of two of the girls I loved the most together with me.
She smiled as I pulled on a pair of loose sweatpants and crawled onto the bed with her. "That sounds like a lovely day." She said seriously, leaning into kiss me.
"You didn't have a tree either." I pointed out.
"I've never had a place big enough for a real tree...and lately I wasn't really in the mood. But I should get one you're right."
"I'm smart." I winked and scooped her up into my arms.
"What do you want for christmas?" She asked as I pulled the covers over both of us and reached for the remote to the tv mounted on the other side of the wall.
"Nothing." I shrugged.
"That's not fair." She poked my side as I started flipping through channels, cuddling up to me.
I ripped my eyes way from the tv screen to look down at her, raising one eyebrow at her, "Why not?" I asked, a hint of amusement in my tone.
"Because I have to get you a present...it's Christmas!" She retorted with a serious expression on her face that only made her look silly at my eyes.
"You didn't get me anything last year." I pointed out slowly, realizing how fast time had passed and how far we had come.
She rolled her eyes but a smile was tugging at her lips anyway, "We weren't really together last year." She said back.
"But I don't want anything." I retorted stubbornly because I didn't need anything really. All the presents I usually got were silly things or thoughtful ones, I'd dint care much for presents, I cared more about the spirit people did that. "What do you want instead?" I asked when she only sighed.
She tangled her legs with mine as she furrowed her brows. "I'm not going to give you a hint, it'd be too easy."
I laughed at that even though that was the same reason why I wouldn't tell her anything either. "I was only curious baby...I already know what I'm going to get you." I said casually before looking back at the tv and stopping on a movie I had already seen before.
She pinched my side to get my attention again, "Oh my god really?! Now I want to know what it is!" She exclaimed with wide eyes.
"You'll have to wait baby." I grinned and kissed her nose before taking my eyes away from her once again.
"Why?!"
"Because it's weeks from Christmas silly."
Lila pouted. "I should have let you wallow without me until the new year so I wouldn't have to come up with a gift for you."
I shut the TV off and grabbed her. "I'm going to spank you for that." I said gruffly.
"Oh?" She smirked. "I think that's a pretty awful punishment."
I grinned, even if I was struggling to be serious. "Why because you like it?"
She nodded. "Yup."
"My punishments should be to not touch you at all."
She pouted again,  "Yeah that would work. But also it would suck for you." She pointed out.
I pulled her into my lap so she was straddling me. "It would. Stop being bad then." I leaned into nuzzle her neck and she sighed.
"If I stop will you spank me?" She asked softly, making me chuckle against her soft skin.
"If you're lucky." I tugged on her earlobe with my teeth before pushing her hair out of her face when I cupped her head in my hands.
"I'm super lucky." She said, meaning so much more than our silly banter.
"I love you Lil."
"I love you too."
