TLC || I don't know where you're going, but do you got room for one more troubled soul? by nadiaa

I quickly jogged up the stairs of Brook's apartment building since the elevator apparently wasn't quick enough for me. I hadn't been this excited to go on a date in a long long time. It was a nice feeling…
I lightly rapped my knuckles against the wooden door as I heard a faint voice call out, "Coming!"
Seconds later Brooke opened the door, looking phenomenal. Beyond phenomenal… I tried not to react, but I let out a small breath and whispered, "F*ck…" I stared at her.
She blinked at me, "What's wrong?"
I shook my head, "I was not prepared for that dress…" I said seriously as I stared at her long legs. I pulled away and looked back at her.
"You told me to bring it." She reminded me but I still wasn't prepared for this.
"I did… I guess it's my fault."
"That I look so good?" She bit down on her lip as I took another peek at her thighs and then her chest, then back at her.
"Yeah…" I trailed off.
"You don't look half bad yourself… where are we going?" She asked me.
"Sushi." I told her, "You told me you liked it right?"
She nodded, "Love it, let me get my purse, give me a second." I held the door open as she walked away and then quickly reappeared, "Ready?" She asked as I nodded.

"Are you?" I grinned as I nudged her lightly.
"Should I be? Are we going on some crazy adventure?" She joked.
I shrugged, "Well I don't know if it'll be extreme or anything, but I think i'll be the best date ever."
"The best?" She teased, "You have to make it extra special for it to be the best."
I shrugged, "I think I'm up to that challenge."
I opened the passenger side door for her and helped her in as I jogged to the other side quickly before getting in, "Thanks for that. You're hot and a gentleman… I must have hit the jackpot." She gave me a beautiful smile.
"My mother pretty much drilled it into me. I'd get in trouble anytime she saw me acting like a d*ck."
She giggled, "Really?"
I nodded, "Yeah, very big on manners. Her father was in the military. So she just passed those on to me." I grinned.
"Wow, so do you have any siblings?" She asked as I drove to the restaurant.
I nodded, "Yeah, a younger sister, Jacquelyn. She's about to graduate high school. Total opposite of me, I mean she did great in school and she's got a scholarship to Stanford. Pretty much the golden child. What about you?"
She shrugged, "No siblings, just me and my parents… I just have Mason." She grinned, "Are you close to your parents?" She asked.
I swallowed, "My mother and sister… yeah, my dad not so much recently."
She raised a brow, "Why not?"
I shrugged, "I'm still angry at him. My mother and him are divorced… and he was the cause of it. He cheated on her and I haven't been able to forgive him yet." I said, trying to not get angry.
"Wow, I'm so sorry." She gave me a sympathetic look.
I shrugged, "He didn't do it to me, he did it to my mom." I said, trying not to think about it too much because of how angry it usually made me feel.
She shook her head, "No offense to your dad, but cheating is a very selfish thing to do. Especially if you have a family. He hurt you and your sister just as much. Plus he ruined the role model a father should have been. That's not fair. Even if he didn't think the marriage was working, there are always better options."
I stared at her, never hearing it being said that way before. Mom wanted me to forgive him and talk to him, but I couldn't. Alex also urged me to talk to him, but it was such a sore subject for me, I wouldn't have known what to say to him.
I swallowed, "You're right." I shook my head as I pulled into the restaurant parking lot.
"I didn't mean to sound like a therapist or something." She blushed.
"No… I mean…. god Alex always just told me to go talk to my dad. She didn't understand why I couldn't…" I told her.
"You'll be able to someday. Most likely on the day where you feel comfortable telling him how you really feel."
I winced at that thought… how I felt was that my Dad was an a*shole for doing that to Mom, Jaq and I.
"It's going to take a while for that."
She smiled, "It would take me a while too." She admitted. "I'm starving. Should we keep up the deep talk inside the restaurant?" She suggested.
I laughed and nodded, "Hot and smart. I'm a lucky man." I winked at her before quickly stepping out of the car and jogging to her side to open the door.
"You didn't need to do that twice." She teased me.
I shrugged, "Can't help it. It's ingrained in my brain for life."
"So you're saying if we keep dating I might never have to open another door for myself?" She asked with a grin.
"Maybe not." I grinned, holding the restaurant door open for her as she gave me another beautiful smile.
"I'm lucky." She bit her lip, blushing a little bit.
"I think I'm pretty my lucky too…" I trailed off as the hostess led us to a secluded table in the lightly dimmed restaurant.
I quickly pulled out the chair for Brook and she sat down, "Okay, this is too much now." She joked.
"I can't pull your chair out for you?" I grinned, sitting down across from her.
"No, it's nice." She grinned, tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, "It's still rare to see it though."
"Your last boyfriend must have been a complete as*shole." I joked.
She laughed, "Compared to you, yeah. You're almost perfect…"
I shook my head, "Not even close, just have manners." I shrugged.
She nodded, "I like it."
"I like you." I grinned.
I could see her blush again as the waitress came over, taking our orders, tea for the both of us, california roll for her and spicy tuna for me.
She ran her hands through her hair, "Are you going to let me try yours?"
I shrugged, "Are you?" I repeated her questions.
"Do you like Califonia rolls?" She asked, making me nod.
"Almost as much as I like the idea of you feeding it to me."
She laughed and shook her head, settings her hands down on the table, "I'd love to."
I shrugged, looking at her one more time, "How are you still single again?" I asked, the question baffling me, "Even the waiter was hitting on you."
She rose her brow, "You mean waitress. She's a girl."
I nodded, "Exactly."
She bit down on her lip and shrugged, "I have a hard time moving on. Unlike you who seems to be able to move on just fine." She teased me as I smirked.
"Maybe both of us were just supposed to move on together." I said simply as I reached across the table for her hand and stroked it with my thumb.
"Maybe…" She trailed off.
"Do you think that's why?"
She furrowed her brows, "Why what?"
"That we get along so well? Maybe our sh*tty relationships led to each other? Because I don't think it has ever been this easy with anyone I've dated." I shrugged at her.
"Maybe…" She gave me a small smile.
"I mean I'm not a big believer in fate and destiny and soul mates." I grinned, "But maybe somethings just happen… for a purpose."
She giggled, "Isn't that just a fancy way to say fate?"
I shrugged, "I guess, but fate sounds so cheesy. Like it's out of a romantic comedy or something."
"Well we don't have to call it fate… but I think I understand what you're saying…" She nodded.
I grinned as the waitress set down our food and I broke apart my chopsticks, "So are you still wanting to feed me?" I winked at her, making her giggle.
"Will you feed me back?" She asked with a small grin.
I nodded, "Sure." I grabbed a piece and held it out for her, "Open."
She grinned and took the piece into her mouth and as she ate, I couldn't help stare at her lips… She lightly licked them and nodded, "It's delicious."
"I agree…" I trailed off as a piece of sticky rice was stuck to her lip. I leaned over and instinctively wiped it and then quickly caught myself, "Sorry, I didn't mean to do that."
She shook her head and grabbed her napkin, wiping the spot, "No, it's okay. Are you ready for your piece?"
I grinned, "Definitely."
She took a piece in her hand, but quickly started to fall apart so I wrapped my lips around the piece and some of her fingers.
"I think I'm better at feeding people than you." I said after swallowing the food, "But damn that's good." She just stared at me, maybe I had crossed a line…
"Are you okay?" I asked her, confused.
"Yeah. Great." She said, clearing her throat, "Is this talent of feeding people something you've honed over the years?" She added, teasing me again.
"I think I'm just a natural honestly." I said, puffing my chest out, leaning back into my chair as I smirked at her.
"Lucky you." She smiled at me. I could see her eyes wander as she changed her posture.
"What was that?" I asked, pointing my chopsticks at her.
"What was what?" She questioned.
"You just changed a little. Your posture."
She smiled and leaned in, "Do you want me to be honest?" I nodded, "I was just feeling a little superior because there are quite a few girls in this restaurant that are jealous of me right now." She admitted.
I was not expecting that, "You're going to be a problem for my ego Brooke." I said, shaking my head with a small laugh before taking another bite of food.
"Can I ask you a question?" She spoke up quietly.
"Shoot."
"You're… well you're gorgeous. You have to know it. Don't you have like… wild oats to sow? Shouldn't you be off f*cking half of L.A. just because you can?"
I grinned, "Oats to sow?"
She nodded, "Maybe not that cheesy, but yeah? You just got out of a two year relationship and you don't want to go out and have a ton of rebounds?"
I shrugged, "I'm not really that type of guy…" I trailed off, "I don't think I'm the wild oat sowing type. I've been in a few relationships, hooked up with girls outside of relationships, but I'm not a manwh*re." I grinned.
She shrugged, "I know, but I'm sure if I was a guy, and I looked like you, I'd be having tons of sex." She grinned.
I shrugged again, "I don't know. I'd rather have sex with someone I know…" I trailed off, staring at her. I would be lying if I said I hadn't pictured her riding me, on more than one occasion, "It's usually better that way."
"Hmmm.." She mumbled, thinking about something.
I raised a brow, "Hmm?" I asked her.
She grinned and nodded, "You're definitely different than most guys I've known."
I shrugged, "I'd just rather date than have meaningless sex. Taking a drunk girl home for the night ends up pretty bad… I mean neither of us know what happens and someone is making the walk of shame." I grinned.
"That sounds like you know from experience." She chuckled.
I shrugged, "It's happened once. It's not fun."
"No… you're right." She nodded.
"Now you sound like you speak from experience." I told her.
She smirked and shrugged, "I used to do the walk of shame a lot." She admitted.
I shook my head, thinking about that, "That's so weird to me."
She stared at me, "What do you mean?"
I shrugged and ran a hand through my hair, "You blush every time I touch you." I told her, grinning widely, "I can't see you trolling for men at bars."
She laughed, "I was a pretty different person 5 months ago." She admitted quietly. She seemed like she was going through a tough time and I hated seeing her like this.
"I like this person." I said, reaching for her hands again.
"You probably would have liked that one too." She smirked as I thought about exactly what she meant and I was groaning internally.
"Might have liked her, but I wouldn't have gotten to date her. This is better." I told her as she blushed at me as I reached forward to push her hair out of her face.
"So then we'll have a second date?" She asked slowly.
"Hell yeah." I nodded, sipping my drink.
"Well okay then." She said, with a big grin, "So what's next?" She asked once our plates were empty.
"You want to come back to my place?" I suggested as she rose her brow, "To just hang out." I grinned, "If not I can take you home."
She nodded, biting her lip, "I'd like to hang out some more. I'm having a lot of fun."
I nodded, "Me too." I paid for dinner and then helped her back into the car, opening all the doors for her before heading to my apartment.
"You know, because you're being so nice and such a gentleman, I might actually put out for you." She gave me a small wink as I cleared my throat.
"Really?" I wouldn't say no…
She grinned, "No, I want to make you work for it." She winked, "It will be so much better then."
I nodded, "Definitely…" We stood outside the door to my apartment and I took a leap of faith and leaned into kiss her and thankfully she didn't pull away, but instead deepened the kiss even  more. I grabbed her waist and pulled her close to me, massaging her tongue with mine.
She pulled away and let out a sigh, "So maybe it's going to be hard for me to make you work for it."
I laughed, "Oh, I'll still work for it, believe me. You want to head in?" I nodded my head towards the door.
She nodded as I opened the door and flicked on the light and as soon as my eyes landed on the scene in front of me.
"Hi baby." Alex gave me a grin before she frowned.
I turned towards Brook who's eyes were widened. There was my ex, sitting on my couch in what used to be my favorite nightie of hers. F*CK.
"What is she doing here?" Alex stood up and placed her hands on her hips.
Brook cleared her throat, "Well, we were on a date… Which is now over. I'll see you later Nick."
"No!" I shouted, "Don't go."
"Excuse you!" Alex yelled at me.
"What are you doing here Alex?" I glared at her.
She bit her lip as she walked towards me, "I wanted to talk about how I made the biggest mistake of my life… and how I want you back."
I pushed her away, "Really?"
"I'm really going to leave." Brooke said, turning around, but I grabbed her wrist pulling her back towards me.
"I swear I didn't know she was going to be here…" I furrowed my brows, not wanting her to go.
"On your couch? In her lingerie?" She added, wincing a bit.
"Brooke, why would I bring you home with me if I thought she was going to be here?!" I exclaimed, trying not to have an internal meltdown. This was not what I wanted.
"I don't know why you brought her home at all." Alex snapped and I whipped around to face her.
"God Alex, shut up!!" I yelled at her, frustrated.
She winced, but recovered quickly, "I love when you're bossy with me baby, just let her leave and we can talk this out!!" She reasoned.
Brooke snorted, "Yeah, you really look like you're into talking right now." She mumbled under her breath.
"I'm sorry… and your dress screams 'respect me'?" Alex spat back at her, "At least I'm in love with Nick!!"
"But I'm not in love with you!!" I yelled back at her, taking her aback. I stepped in front of Brooke to shield her.
"Nick…" She trailed off, with a hurt look in her eyes.
"You f*cking dumped me Alex! You can't just leave and pick back up whenever the hell you want!"
"But I'm not going to leave anymore…" She trailed off, "How could you be out with anyone so soon?! How could yu be with her?!"
I set my jaw, "Don't you insult Brooke, Alex. I swear you will regret it." I told her, standing up for Brooke.
"Why are you standing up for her?!" She yelled back at me, "I'm the one who loves you! I'm the one who was there for two years."
"And you were the one who left when you thought I was cheating… and that I didn't love you." I sighed, "I did love you… and now I can honestly say I don't."
"Really?" She said, trying to catch the lump in her throat. I knew the tears were coming.
"Yes." I said finally, "It is really f*cking over between us Alex. I'm sorry." I told her simply, not wanting to fight, or anything. I just needed her to realize it's over.
But instead she reached over and gave me a hard slap on the face, "You're going to realize what you had and what you let go. I hope you're happy with this skank."
She said, grabbing her trench coat and putting it on before she stomped out.
I sighed as I threw my head back, "I'm sorry about that. I had no idea that that's what we would have been coming here too."
"It's okay. I believe you… I don't think any man would be stupid to bring a date to his place when his ex is already here…" She smirked.
"What about the guys who want to have a threesome?" I joked back at her.
"They're idiots… and they sure wouldn't accomplish it." She laughed.
I grinned, "Thanks for understanding. I know I come with a lot of baggage and stuff, but thanks. Plus I really don't blame you if you stormed out right now."
"I'm not storming out." She said slowly.
I grinned, thanking god for that, "Good… great… I really am sorr-" She interrupted me by pressing her entire body mine and I stopped speaking.
She slid her hands slowly up my chest and around my neck, "Brooke…" I breathed out slowly.
"Are you going to make me work for it?" She smirked as I laughed before shaking my head.
"No…" I trailed off, my hands moving down towards her waist, dangerously close to her a*s, but I didn't want to offend her."
"No? Are you pretty easy?" She smirked, tilting her head up so she was speaking extremely close to my lips.
"Maybe… but Brooke, we don't have to do anything that you're not comf-"
She placed her finger against my lips, "There are a lot of things I am comfortable with though…" She whispered, killing me as she almost kissed me and then trailed her lips down my neck
I groaned, pulling her tighter against me, "Show me baby…" I trailed off.
She slipped her hands underneath my shirt and dragged her fingernails across my abs.
I swallowed thickly as she pressed her lips softly against my lips, teasing me.
I decided to deepen this kiss and pulled her into my body, holding on to her.
"God." She breathed out against my lips making me smirk.
"You have to cry out to a deity?" I joked with her.
She breathed out and nodded, "Yeah. Honestly I might jump your bones right now…" She trailed off.
I grinned, "I don't mind that at all…" I cupped her chin in my hand and pulled her into another kiss.
She nibbled on my lip as I groaned, "Now I think I'm going to be saying God."
She giggled, "You're cute."
"I like making you laugh…" I trailed off, pushing her hair out of her face, "I think you're much more cuter than I am and all I can think about is kissing you and never pulling my lips away from yours."
She blushed, "You're amazing… and if I don't leave now, I'm know I'm going to end up in bed with you and I still want to try and make you work for it."
I grinned, "I respect that…" I pulled her into another deep kiss and then pulled away, "I'll drive you home."
She nodded, "But I do expect another date."
"You have nothing to worry about Brooke." I gave her a smile.
