I took one last deep breath as I squeezed Jakes hands that were resting on my stomach before we both stood up, said bye to the future parents around us and walked out the building. I had been obsessed with yoga for about two years now but since I had gotten pregnant I had decided to join a special class, forcing Jake to be with me. He, being the amazing man that he was, hadn't argued about it too much.
"That was a good one, wasn't it?" He asked, grabbing my hand as we walked down the street, a smirk on his face that said it all.
I narrowed my eyes on him, my free hand on my belly, "You're happy just because we only have two more lessons left." I said but smiled when he made a silly scrunchy face that I loved so much.
"I swear I learnt so much that now I could start a class myself." He smirked at me, looking amused by his own words.

I laughed lightly, picturing Jake in my head doing the most bizarre positions. Nope. "You're not gay enough for that." I said back as I relaxed, my mood a good one. It was kind of rare lately, the closer I got to become a mom the more nervous I felt...and now, I was really super close.
"Only a man who's really comfortable with his masculinity can do that instead." He laughed with me before pressing a kiss on my cheek, his eyes dropping on my hand and on my belly. "Is everything okay there?"
I nodded as I rubbed my now big tummy, "Yes, he's always relaxed after our lesson." I explained and felt myself smiling, now used to every movement of my baby inside of me.
"That's nice." Jake grinned and reached down to kiss me.
"He kicked!" I said, my eyes wide because I wasn't expecting that. "That was a big one."
"Doesn't stay relaxed that long I guess." He laughed and set his hand on my stomach, jumping back a little when Jackson kicked again. "Doesn't that freak you out?"
I laughed, the expression on my love's face a silly hilarious one. "At first yeah." I admitted. "Now it just let's me know he's okay in there."
He nodded, reaching for my hand and squeezing it lightly. "I can't wait to meet him." He said, grinning super wide and making me melt.
"Me too. Want to get some frozen yogurt or something? Now that I'm up and out I want to keep it up as long as I can before I get tired again."
"Sure." He agreed. "We can go clubbing too if you're still not tired."
I rolled my eyes. "So funny." I shook my head, now the thought alone of going dancing until late night enough to make me want to run to my bed instead. "I think our clubbing days might be over handsome."
"I guess I could trade too loud music and over priced beer for night time stories and warm milk."
I laughed again. "Oh god Jake....we're gonna be parents."
He nodded, looking shocked even though that wasn't exactly brand new information. "Yeah."
I turned my head as we walked, raising one eyebrow slowly and studying the expression on his face. "You're freaking out." I said, it sounding like I was pointing that out and not like a question like I was intending it to be. I alternated moment when the thought of having a baby scared me to death to others when I couldn't wait to be a mom, lately I had the second kind a lot more though.
He shrugged nonchalantly, but I knew he was forcing the nonchalance on his face. "Maybe a little, but isn't that normal? Aren't you freaking out a little too?" He asked casually.
I left his hand to hook my arm around his, leaning into his side. "I have doubts and worries, but mostly I'm scared of the moment when he'll come out of me." I said quietly, knowing that whenever I talked about my fears with Jake I felt better. Unless he said something stupid.
He furrowed his brows, "You mean..." He trailed off but it seemed as if he couldn't find the right words.
I smirked a little at the adorable expression on his face, kissing his cheek quickly, "I mean it's a baby coming out of my body, it will be painful." I explained and pouted a little.
"I could never go through that." He said honestly and made a face.
"Men." I sighed as I shook my head before we walked in front of the club where we had been gone to for years. Now it seemed so weird, and not just because it was day and it was closed. "Will you regret anything about our old life?" I asked quietly, my hand rubbing my belly while I thought that no, I had been a party girl long enough and I was ready for that change.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean I've turned you from a young hot stud into a dad who'll spend his nights changing diapers." I laughed, even thought the idea of him being the father of my child made him look even more perfect to me.
"First of all? I think the blame is on both of us for that." Jake smirked. "Secondly....are you telling me that once that baby comes I'll no longer be a stud?"
"No baby, if anything I'm sure you'll be even more attractive to everyone." I said flatly because it was common knowledge that puppies and babies were like magnets.
He shot me a look. "Does that include you? Because that's really all I care about...."
I shrugged, feeling happy no matter what, because that gorgeous sexy soon to be dad, was all mine. "Maybe. We'll see."
"I'll keep my fingers crossed." He teased back, grabbing my hand and squeezing it.
"I meant will you miss being able to go out whenever you want, to party and stay out too late and drink too much." I went on since I really wanted to know, I was worried he could got bored...it was a big change for us.
He shook his head. "Nah. Plus when was the last time we did that anyways?" He laughed. "I'll miss you though."
I blinked, slowly connecting the dots. I knew how my boyfriend's mind worked. "Is that you calling me fat again?!"
"I would like you to assume that I'm never calling you fat, until I actually say the words "You're fat." Which will never happen." He said calmly.
"Meh. Then what did that mean?"
"I mean after the baby comes I have to wait a while before we can start practicing for Jax's brothers or sisters. That will suck." He explained as if that was the biggest concern he had.
I sighed, then chuckled, "Men."
"You say that as if you won't miss me." He winked. "I'm a stud remember?"
"Yeah sure." I dismissed his words, not because they weren't true, but he was already enough full of himself as he was. When he frowned I squeezed his hand, giving him the wrinkly nose face that always got him smile. "I will miss you, but you'll going to be with me, right? Or you'll going to dump me as soon as I give birth?"
He laughed before wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me against his side as we walked. "Oh yeah, that was the plan."
"I thought so..." I trailed off as my stomach grumbled, making my baby kick too. "Where's my froyo?!"
A sigh escaped his lips as he looked down at me with those eyes full of love that made me feel like the luckiest woman alive. And I probably was. "Close."
"Right." I pouted impatiently as I got lost into my thoughts. I always had so much on my mind lately and it was normal. There was still so much for me to do before giving birth and my energy wasn't at its highest, plus I was too stubborn to let anyone but Jake to help me but of course he wasn't always willing to help. I had given up on some things, on other he got better and the others still made us argue. "Will you be with me when I'll give birth?" I asked eventually, a thing I'd been meaning to ask him days before but for reason or another I always forgot.
He made a face, as if he could faint at the thought only. Men. "I don't know do you want me there?" He asked back.
I pursed my lips together because I hadn't made up my mind on the matter yet. "I don't know either. I think I'd want your support because I'll be probably scared to death, but I don't want you to see you our baby's destroying my vagina either. I don't want you to get traumatized or something....will your mom come to the hospital?" I asked because in a way she was as if she was my mom too. I loved her as if she was, that was for sure.
"Baby someone will have to fight mom off with an army if they wanted to keep her away." Jake told me softly, his words making me want to cry because I was a big hormonal mess. "Oh god baby please don't cry."
"I love your mom." I choked on my voice and he scooped me up into his arms.
"She's your mom too, in every sense of the word." He said softly, kissing the top of my head and only making me want to cry more, just because.
"Jake." I sniffled and grabbed handfuls of his shirt.
"And just so you know I'm not going to be trumatized. It will be the best day of my life." He assured me. "But maybe I'll stand up by your head." He added.
I chuckled against his shirt, feeling tiny in his hold even if I was as tiny as a whale could be. "I cant wait." I whispered and tilted my head up to look at him, feeling as if my heart could literally explode from all the feels.
"Violet." He choked, his face changing and making me worry.
"What's wrong?" I asked, reaching up to run my fingers in his hair.
"You're mine right? Forever?" He asked, pulling me closer and not caring that we probably looked ridiculous in a tight embrace in the middle of the sidewalk.
"Always." I nodded because if this was just about him needing me to reassure him? I could do that easily. The only other man in my life would be our son.
"Marry me." He asked, emotion and desperation and love coating his words even if they were few.
I cupped his cheek, boring my eyes into his and melting a little for how sweets his words sounded. "I will one day baby." I said softly, my voice as full of emotion as his.
I looked him swallow, his jaw tensing, "I mean now." He breathed out, not breaking eye contact and looking at me seriously. My head was starting to spin.
"What? Now? Jakey, you don't even have a ring." I said back in an attempt to tease him, truth was I was confused and the way he kept staring at me was freaking me out a little. I wondered if I looked at him the same way, with the same need. I was probably worse instead. He didn't say a word this time and grabbed my hand to set it on the pocket of his shirt, on his heart too. Not only I could feel it beating hard under my touch, but I could also feel that between my hand and his heart there was a little bump. A ring. I stopped breathing, realizing that his face was so serious because he was serious. "Oh god, you want to marry me." I whispered, feeling shocked because I wasn't expecting that...well not, now.
He encircled my waist with his strong arm, "You shouldn't be so surprised Vi, I've been wanting to marry you for a long while now. You look pale." He said quietly and shot me a small smile while he urged me on a bench, taking care of me as he always did and sitting next to me.
I leaned into his body but refused to let the shock prevail, instead I angled my head to look into his eyes. "I know that too, but when I asked you..." I trailed off, remembering that painful and embarrassing memory.
Jake saw that and tilted his head down, leaning his forehead against mine as a sigh escaped his mouth, "It wasn't the right time." He said back quietly, the tone of his voice sounding like he was sorry, then again I still didn't understand fully why he had rejected me back then. And a moment later, it hit me.
I pulled my head back, opening my mouth slowly as my hand left his heart to go to my belly. "You're asking me because I'm pregnant." I said and thought I'd be sick. I knew that Jake loved me and that he wanted to spend his life with me, but for some reason he seemed to be skeptical about marriage. Correction, he used to be, because now he had a ring in his pocket just like I had a baby in me. It made sense.
He had to read my thoughts on my face and shook his head, hurrying to cup my jaw and pull me back to him. "No baby no. I don't want you to think that for even a second. I want you to marry me because I'm crazy in love with you and I can't find one single reason not to make of you my wife." He explained quickly, surely sounding as anxious as he looked.
"But when I asked you you said no. No because I was a crazy girl obsessed with you who needed to be more indipendent instead of wanting to marry you for the wrong reason." I retorted, trying to remember his exact word.
He opened his mouth then closed it again, "That's not what I said Vi..." He trailed off.
"The hell it isnt." I said back with a brow raised, remembering that a little too well.
"You'll use that against me forever, right?" He asked, looking like a lost puppy and I didn't know if he was doing that on purpose or not, but it worked.
"Yes." I nodded my head as I leaned into him again, letting my lips curve into a wide smile. "And I'll marry you too." I added, biting my lip as I realized that in a bunch of second I'd be engaged to the love of my life. The excitement was starting to make me dizzy.
"You have to know that I was wrong when you asked me, that I was thinking like a dumbbass man instead of the man who's in love with you and-" He blinked as my words sunk in. ".....is that a yes?"
I nodded, my eyes bright and my face flushed. We were really one kind. The first time I asked him to marry me we were in a cafè and he said now, now we were in the middle of the street. "Yes."
"Really?!" He asked, his brow furrowed as he looked down at me.
"Are you that surprised?" I asked because sure I wasn't completely over the fact he rejected me once, but was I going to lose the chance to marry him? Never.
He scratched his head. "Honestly I thought I'd have to convince you a little more." He admitted.
I laughed, a real true laugh where my head fell back a little. "Ask me again." I smirked.
He grinned, taking the ring out of his pocket and getting down on one knee. "Violet...I have wanted to spend my life with you since the day I met you and you were just a little girl. Even then I knew you were special. That we were soul mates. You've always been my best friend, even before you were my girlfriend, but it's not enough for me because you're my soulmate. Will you marry me?"
I swallowed and just nodded. This was crazy. I was living in a movie. "Yes." I said simply and he stood up, cupping my face and kissing my as he slid his grandmothers ring onto my finger. "Jake" I whispered, looking down at the ring in awe and adoration. I couldn't explain how much I had been wanting that ring.
"Do you like it?" He asked.
"It's the most beautiful ring I've ever seen in my life." I said seriously, holding his hand and then looking back at him. "We're engaged." I whispered, my eyes big. He kissed me again. "Now the whole world knows you're mine." He growled against my lips.
"If the baby bump didn't give them a hint." I laughed and he laughed with me.
"Marry me right now." He said and I laughed again.
"Uh uh." I shook my head. "I'm going to fit into a regular wedding dress, you're just going to have to wait."
"You're punishing me." He pouted down at me. "You look beautiful now."
"Thank you baby." I smiled at him, always liking a compliment even though I didn't feel at my best these days. But for the first time in my life I didn't care about my looks, because inside I felt great. "But I'm not punishing you, you're just having bad timing." I added, grinning at him.
"Uh?" He raised one eyebrow at me, "Bad timing? What does that even mean?"
"It means if you had said yes the first time we would've been married now." I told him, teasing him but it was also true.
"Ha. Here it goes again." He smirked at me and wrapped his arm around me, "I guess I have to get used to hear you torturing me only for a little mistake I made."
"Little my ass." I said back but kept my smirk in place, too happy to be bothered by...anything. At this point I didn't care about the past anymore, the future looked fantastic to me. "I have a question to make you though." I added, faking a serious expression.
"Anything baby." He said quietly, smiling at me sweetly as he pulled me closer.
"Did you say no because I had no ring?" I asked but barely made it to the end of the question before bursting into a laugh.
My handsome man laughed with me, even tossing his head back a little. "Yes, that's exactly why." He said and sighed before smiling again, "I'm happy that we're able to joke about that now Vi."
I nodded, happy about that too and about how we were keeping growing up together. I got up, looking down at my hand as I set it on my tummy where Jackson just kicked and I stared at my ring. I had seen it in old pictures at Jake's house and I had heard about it in his mom's stories, I couldn't believe I was wearing it now.
"Where are you going pretty girl?" He asked, his voice breaking into my thoughts.
I blinked at him before recovering, offering him my hand to take, "I'm still hungry you know. And we need to talk about our wedding, you should sedate me with froyo if you don't want me to start freak out."
He got up then grabbed my hand, grinning. "Are you going to get planning crazy?"
I shook my head, because I didn't even know where I would start with that. I had so much on my plate right now. "No Jakey, I'm already stressed about about my little bean coming out of me." I said seriously.
"He's no bean anymore." He said back, squeezing my hand, "How did you imagine your wedding when you were little?"
I bit down on my lip, trying not to smile too big like a moron, "With my Jakey and a big white dress."
"Is that all?" He asked and I nodded while we stopped at the froyo shop.
"Yes, that's all." I shrugged nonchalantly and felt weird because I didn't know what I wanted now. I was confused because I was very pregnant and I wanted to marry Jake, but I didn't know when it'd be the best time considering that we'd have a baby real soon...at the same time, I didn't want to wait too long. "I want it with with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and chocolate."
Jake raised one eyebrow, "Our wedding?"
I giggled, "No, my froyo silly."
"Damn a strawberry chocolate wedding sounded awesome." Jake smirked and I laughed, a real laugh that came out of me only when I was with Jake, it'd been like this since we were just kids.
"I'll keep it in mind." I grinned. "You should call your mother."
"You want to tell her on the phone?"
I shrugged. "I just want to tell someone!!!" I said excitedly.
He nodded. "Alright." He took his phone out and put it on speaker phone for me to join in when I wanted.
"Jake? Are you coming to dinner on Sunday? Is Violet still not eating beef because I need to go to the store for chicken." His mom answered without even say hi. She killed me.
"Ma, stop talking real quick." He laughed.
"What's wrong? Are you okay? Is the baby okay?"
"We're engaged!!!!!" I said, practically jumping up and down.
His mom's excited squeals made him hold the phone away from himself and towards me. "You wanted this?" Jake mouthed towards his phone and I nodded. I knew I wouldn't get the same reaction from my own mother and his one was the closest thing I had to a real mom. She had always loved me and I loved her just as much.
"Honey did you hear?! They're getting married!!!!" His mom shouting for his dad even made some people on the street turn to look at us. "Jacob put Vi on the phone only I want to talk all about it!"
Jake rolled his eyes, though he was still grinning as he put the phone off speaker and handed it to me. "I'll go get the froyo and bring it to this bench maybe." He teased.
I nodded because that was a good idea instead, I had no time to get a froyo but I still wanted one real bad. "Okay, hurry!" I told him and his face dropped before he sighed and sighed again, shaking his head as he entered the shop.
"Oh Violet, we're so happy. We've been hoping to hear those words since you and Jake were kids, but I had no idea it was going to happen now. He didn't tell me anything, would you believe that?" She told me.
I bit down on my lip, imagining her in my head, rolling her eyes and waving her hand in the air. "You weren't the only one clueless trust me. It was such a surprise...the ring is amazing, really." I said as I looked at it, once again amazed by being engaged to my very own prince charming. Or bear charming.
"Do you already know when you'll get married? Or where? What kind of wedding do you want?" She started asking, making my head spin for a moment because those were a lot of questions I didn't have an answer to.
I held my tummy, knowing that right now the baby bear had the priority since he could pop out literally any moment now, "I don't know, it happened like ten minutes ago and I haven't made up my mind yet. And I'm very pregnant so I don't think the wedding will happen that soon." I explained, still smiling like an idiot. "I'd hate to be a whale bride."
"A wha-" She cut herself off and laughed, "Vi, you'd be gorgeous even wearing a plastic bag or a sumo wrestler costume. And you have to know that Jake would agree on me on that one."
"I know and he's super impatient, but there's only so much I can stress about and now our baby Jackson needs all our attentions because he could join us any day." I went on, being reasonable which was something that didn't happen much.
"I thought you were dues in ten days honey!" She retorted.
"I am but it could happen now too. Ten days aren't enough to arrange a wedding anyway." I said back, rubbing my belly as I smiled once I saw Jake coming out of the shop holding a huge froyo with two spoons.
"You're right, of course. I'm just so excited!" She squealed once again, "We can think about together when I'll see you on Sunday."
"I'd love that. I can't wait!" My excitement matched hers before I said bye and gave the phone back to my fiancè, exchanging it with the froyo. I brought a huge spoonful to my mouth, dying for how good that was.
Jake watched me closely, raising one eyebrow, "What can't you wait for?" He asked eventually and I could tell he was dying to know more.
"For your mom to join me in the wedding craziness." I grinned at him leaning into him as I waited for a kiss which he gave me a second later.
"Aren't you crazy enough as it is?" He asked, looking amused and really happy. Of course we had been happy for a while now...but now it was a whole other thing.
"If I'm crazy, you're crazy too- ouch." I made a face as Jackson kicked. He had to be a big strong baby boy already, because he kicked like a football player. "And the baby bear too of course."
"Did he hurt you?"
"Your son kicks in his sleep like his dad." I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Does he?" He grinned, looking full of pride as he stared at his ring on my hand when I set it on my stomach.
"Yes." I smirked. "You're beaming." I pointed out.
"I have everything I've ever wanted, why wouldn't I be?"
My eyes went glassy but I then rolled them. "Don't be so cheesy Jake everyone will hate us."
He laughed and reached over to take a spoonful of froyo, putting it to his mouth as I grinned at him. "I'm not sure I care about that, but I'll be less cheesy if you care." I grinned and then I pouted. "What's wrong?" He asked, used to my sudden changes in mood by now butalways so worried that I was feeling sick.
"We just got engaged and I want to celebrate it but I'm so fat you won't want to make love to me." I told him even though...it wasn't going to happen. I knew he wanted me, always, even now.
He widened his eyes and then laughed. "Baby when have I ever not wanted to?" He asked.
"It wont even work, his tummy will be in the way." I went on, testing him.
"Don't be ridiculous Violet, there are plenty of ways around that." He gave me a devlish grin and I bit my lip as he cupped my face. "Besides baby, seeing you pregnant with my baby is just as sexy to me as when you got that ridiculous lingerie for my birthday last year." He said seriously.
"My body was perfect then." I sighed, always over confident about the one thing most girls weren't. I was going to work out real hard to go back to my shape.
"Your body is always perfect to me because you were made for me in every shape you are."
"Cheesy again." I sighed.
"Fine, let's get that fine a.s home so I can bend my new fiancè over my bed." I said seriously while I widened my eyes and then grinned. "How's that for not cheesy?"
"We're going to get married." I whispered softly instead of answering.
He nodded, pulling me against him. "About damn time."
