I adjusted my headphones in but waited to press play, adjusting myself against my first class seat instead as I glanced out the plane window. I had 6 hours of flight ahead of me before landing in New York and they'd probably be the most relaxing part of my business trip. My plan was to sleep as much as I could in order to be ready to bite everyone's head off athe Apple headquarters in the city, they needed to know that I was the best and that I deserved a promotion. I knew this was a test, one I wouldn't fail. Everything was planned in my head, I'd get to my hotel room, get changed, then go straight to their offices. I took a sip of my coffee then set the cup back in the armrest next to me, closing my eyes and hoping that the seat next to me would stay as it was, empty.
"Am I being punked?" A voice broke into my thoughts and I didn't know if I was dreaming already, because that sounded like my eleven, but it couldn't be.
I opened my eyes fast. "Lila?" I blinked, not believing to my own eyes.
"Am I being punked?" A voice broke into my thoughts and I didn't know if I was dreaming already, because that sounded like my eleven, but it couldn't be.
I opened my eyes fast. "Lila?" I blinked, not believing to my own eyes.
When the guy behind her made a sound she quickly stuffed her carry on into the space above the seats and took her own seat, directly between the large first class windows and me. Great. "What are you doing on my plane?" She glared at me.
"Your plane?" I shot her an amused glance but she just glared at me and my face turned more serious. It was too early in the morning for me to deal with her attitude, and we were both in this situation where no one had any fault. "I have an audit meeting in New York." I said slowly. "The better question is what are you doing here?"
"Being a part of fates cruel joke." She muttered.
"Apparently." I groaned, my mood changing instantly since having her around had this effect on me. It was usually a good thing, but now after what she had told me everything had changed. "Don't worry I won't bother you." I added when she didn't say a thing, closing my eyes and focusing on the music I was listening too but f.uck it was hard, I could smell her delicious scent and it was going to my head already. I hadn't slept much tonight and I was counting on sleeping on the flight but now? It seemed almost impossible.
I felt her bony finger poking at my side and I groaned again, opening my eyes to glare at me. "You have to turn your music off."
I did as she said, tempted to throw my ipod somewhere since I was getting frustrated already. "We still have a bunch of minutes before taking off."
"I was afraid you'd fall asleep." She shrugged nonchalantly as she yearned, looking cute as f.uck, before eyeing my coffee.
I raised one eyebrow slowly, wishing I could fight the urge to take care of her, to hug her, to be all over her. "You can have it if you want." I said quietly.
"Okay thanks." She said hurriedly before grabbing the cup and taking a few big sips. She was adorable.
I couldn't help smirking, taking my headphones off, "Sleepy?" I asked and she shrugged, so I tried again, "Nervous?"
"Planes do make me nervous." She admitted with a sigh, shaking her head slowly.
"Then it's a good thing you found me, isn't it?" I joked, knowing we couldn't spend all that time ignoring each other or even worse with me giving her attitude. I couldn't do either apparently. Neither I want to.
Lila sighed. "Good thing." She nodded, looking out the window and I took that time to look at her instead.
"Lil." I said quietly, grabbing her hand and start rubbing my thumb over her, soothing her. I didn't know why we were like this. Nothing seemed to make any sense when it was about her, about me with her, still destiny kept pulling us together no matter if we were on different pages. Not that it had to do such a great job, since we seemed to be unable to stay away too long.
"How long will you be in New York?" She asked, leaning into the seat and letting my hand caressing her sooth away the nervousness.
"4 or 5 days depending on how fucked up the New York finances are." I said, glaring at the thought alone. I liked my job, I really did, I didn't mind being in the city for a while, but I knew it wouldn't be a vacation and now that Lila was going to be there? Well, that was a huge temptation.
She smirked. "If you want something done right you have to do it yourself." She teased, since she knew what a control freak I was. At least I was about my job.
"True." I grinned at her and used my free hand to push her bangs out of her face before running my hand down her cheek. She looked sleepy and had no makeup on but god she was so beautiful, looked so innocent and so sexy at the same time and I didn't know if I wanted to fuck her senseless of just take care of her more. "What about you?"
"A week. The Brookes Gallery is showing my collection at thier newest location opening."
"Wow." I gave her an impressed look because that sounded like a big deal to me. "Even I've heard of that. That's incredible for you Lil."
She nodded. "It's a little last minute, but apparently one of the board members saw my painting at a friends house and called my manager that day." She smiled at the thought, the look on her face saying it all. That made her happy, and proud too, like she should be. She deserved that. "Anyways they're putting me up in some fancy Times Square Hotel and wining and dining me."
"Which fancy Times Square Hotel?" I questioned, wondering if that was close to mine and if I could accidentally end up there one night.
She pulled out her phone. "The Michelangelo Hotel." She read and I stared at her like an idiot. "What?"
More like what the fuck. "That's where I'm staying." I said after a few moments of silence.
She glared at me. "Are you stalking me?" She asked, joking because that was how it sounded. A joke.
"Not last time I checked cutie." I smirked.
"Well at least I'll have someone to booty call if I strike out after clubbing."
I raised one eyebrow slowly as I gave her an amused look, "And who are you going clubbing with?" I asked slowly, wondering if she had any friends in the city, if she already had plans for anything, finding myself wanting to know everything. I knew it was bad, but part of me wanted to run away not to hurt her more than I had already done and the other part wanted to keep her close to me and f.uck her senseless everytime I wanted her. Which was an awful lot.
She pursed her lips together, then shrugged, "Alone." She answered simply though I could see in her eyes she wouldn't really do that. Who would anyway? Not girls, not Lila.
"Yeah right." I let out a laugh as I looked at her, not letting go of her hand and squeezing it instead, "Would they even let you inside? I mean, look at you...you're a baby."
"Stop with this baby thing, I'm a grown up woman and I can go alone wherever I want, whenever I want." She glared at me, her attitude only making me laugh more and next thing I knew she was hitting my chest, "Ugh stop!"
"OKay okay, I'll stop." I still smiked wide, leaning into her to bore my eyes into hers. Her eyes did things to me...how I was going to survive this flight I had no idea. "But you're still a baby to me."
"It sounds so sexy." She retorted flatly as she broke eye contact before jumping when the plane take off and setting her head against the seat. She looked absolutely terrified. "Oh my god." She said under her breath, choking on her words.
"See you can't even take a plane alone." I teased her, mostly to take her mind off whatever she was thinking. I was good at distracting her and right now it was a good thing. It always was actually, I liked how I could always have her, even though I knew it wasn't fair. I wished I could stop caring so much, after all I had never cared before, but something about the way we had started sleeping together had brought me to where I was now. Where we were.
"Travis, really, this is not the moment!" She glared at me, sinking her nails into my hand but I didn't even flinch. Instead, I used my free hand to cup her face as I kissed her, unable to hold back. Her lips looked too tempting and they were so soft, so delicious, it'd be a sin not to kiss her. "What are you doing, people could think we're together." She whispered against my mouth, a ghost of a smile finally appearing on her beutiful face.
"I didn't see any f.uckable girl on this plane." I joked once again since I hadn't paid attention to anyone. It was a business trip and I had no desire to go girl hunting anyway. She groaned at my words and rolled her eyes, making me kiss her again, "And we're together on this plane, so..."
"God, you're the worst." She sighed, but didn't pull away, the nervousness into her eyes disappearing as she looked more relaxed again.
"I'm the best instead." I smirked then drew back regretfully, adjusting my body back against my seat as I closed my eyes. I had no self restraint around her and kisses always led to more, I definitely didn't want to end up with a bad case of blue balls...it was going to be a long flight, the only hope I had was to sleep.
"Were there extra cocky pills in that coffee? Should I be feeling the effects soon?"
I grinned wider. "As soon as your fiesty pills wear off yes." I smiled down at her and she did back to me.
"Smartass." She reached up and this time it was her who was pressing our lips together, swiping her tongue against mine. I liked the initiative, if only it wasn't leaving me want more.
"Lila." I growled against her lips, mentally counting how long had passed since the last time I had been inside of her. I didn't know, but it was too long anyway.
She nipped at my lower lip and pulled back with a grin. "Are financial audits fun?" She asked, moving our clasped hands to her lap and watching as my eyes followed. Sometimes she made no sense to me.
"Oh buckets full." I said sarcastically which made her laugh.
"Maybe you should take a break to come see the gallery." She suggested, trying to seem non-chalant but failing.
I gave her a look as I processed her invitation, trying to find a reason not to go when I already knew I'd never miss that chance. The decision had been taken the moment she asked. "I'd like that." I said finally. "Your art is incredible."
"Thank you." She whispered.
We were looking at each other in silence then, that connection so palpable, so damn strong, it was as if we were frozen in time.
"Can I get you a drink?" Whatever was going on between us broke as the flight attendant spoke cheerily, eyeing me which was obvious.
"A coke thanks." I said politely as I gave my attention back to Lila who looked almost annoyed, glaring at the girl while I was amused. But what was new, she had that effect on me, along with many others.
"Nothing for me." She said flatly, still holding my hand tight as the flight attendant walked past us.
I smirked from ear to ear, "I warn you, I'm bad at sharing." I teased her as I brought my plastic glass to my lips, taking a big sip but not taking my eyes off of her.
She finally smirked back at me as she leaned her head against the seat, the light coming from the window behind her making her look like a gorgeous angel. "I don't know about that, we shared things before." She said softly.
"Mhm." I muttered unintelligently as I swallowed and wondered what she was talking about. I had no memory of that, at all, but then again I didn't notice many things while girls were all about details. No wonder why they were all half crazy. "Like what?"
She shrugged nonchalantly and her smirk turned into a beautiful smile, "Your bed." She said simply but I knew she was holding back something, I could see it on her face, into her eyes, in the way her body was slightly tense.
"Once." I pointed out, running my thumb in circles against her soft skin as I thought about that night. F.uck that had been an intense one, more like a nightmare while we were at the hospital, but taking care of her hadn't been bad. That had been the moment when I had started caring about her. "But true. What else?"
"Do you need me to make you a list?" She said back like the silly girl she was, her good mood a contegeous one as I shook my head, smirking. "You should have taken more coffee, I might use some more."
"You're already caffeinated enough." I said seriously, "You won't give me any rest on this flight, will you?"
"You can rest." Lila replied seriously, pulling away from my hold to grab her ipad out of her bag. Girls, you asked them if they'd do something, and they'd do the opposite instead.
"What will you do?" I asked casually, wondering if she sketched on her ipad too or if she did that on paper only.
"Read." She smirked, pressing the kindle app and looking like the smartass she sometimes was.
"What are you reading?" I asked, leaning over to lurk her over her shoulder since I was curious about what kind of books she was into. I was curious about a lot of things about her.
She turned and smirked. "Why are you so interested? I thought you were tired."
I used the proximity we'd created to lean in and kiss her quickly, knowing the effect she had on her and using it to silence her too. Couldn't I ask questions now? "I want to know what books you read." I shrugged because it was that simple, there was nothing behind it.
"You can't guess?"
"Art books?" I offered as I thought about it. "Trashy romance novels?"
She scoffed, though blushed a little and that was enough of an admission for me, even if a silent one. Weird how she was so transparent to me but at the same time she was a mystery too.
"It's a murder mystery." She replied, flipping through the title pages.
"Huh." I grinned since I hadn't seen that coming at all. Then again she had grown up with a bunch of brothers, maybe they had had that kind of influence on her too, on the things she liked. "You continue to surprise me."
"Yes I'm full of surprises." She smirked, starting my book and then reaching up to press the button for the attendant.
"What do you need?" I asked, but she ignored me as the attendant came up to her.
"Miss?" The girl asked politely as I glanced at her legs.
"Can I get a gin and tonic actually?" She asked, giving her a forced smile that made no sense to me.
"May I see your ID?" She asked, making me start laughing as she growled and handed over her license to the girl.
"You're just jealous because you're old." Lila said under her breath as she put it away and pulled her hair to the top of her head, looking genuinely annoyed this time, and just because the universe was proving me right. She was a baby.
I watched her as she grabbed her drink and brought it to her lips, taking a small sip. "I can't be jealous of a baby." I said quietly, wondering if it was normal for her to drink so early in the morning.
She ignored me and shot another fake smile to the girl, "Thank you." She said before moving her eyes back to me, studying my face, "What?"
"I said nothing." I muttered as I shifted in my seat, running my hands through my hair and guessing that this flight was going to be harder than I thought. Being close to Lila always had a weird effect on me, thought now the circumstances were particular ones. It wasn't like I could just grab her and do to her everything I wanted, unfortunately, so that left us with two choices, either talk or be silent.
She shrugged, gulping another sip, "You were looking me weird." She pointed out.
"Because you're doing something weird." I retorted simply.
"Don't you like my hair up?" She smirked at me then bit down on her lip, the look into her eyes a naughty one but we were on different pages right now.
I shook my head because of course I did, I liked her always, she was a real beauty no matter how her hair were styled. "You're drinking." I said instead.
"So what, I'm old enough for that and I proved it." She said in a silly voice and I could only pray she wasn't planning to get drunk on a fucking flight to NY.
I rolled my eyes, finding myself not liking that at all. "It's like 9 in the morning Lila." I groaned, tempted to grab the glass from her hand myself.
"8:45" Lila corrected, taking another sip and then blinked her eyes. "Oh sorry are you too old to appreciate morning drinking?" She teased him and I glared further. "Relax Travis it's just to calm me down a little. One gin and tonic never made anyone drunk."
"Still." I said back flatly, annoyed because she didn't even see where the problem was. Who drank so early? Maybe only people with drinking problems.
"Still what?" She snapped, looking annoyed herself but she could suck it up or go sitting somewhere else.
"Nothing Lil....just...don't have another." I groaned, knowing that I wouldn't allow that anyway.
She raised her brows and then lowered them into a glare. "I wasn't planning on it, but if I want to I will."
"Try it and see what happens." I said back darkly. I didn't care if my attitude was pissing her off, I was a man who always got what he wanted, even if that meant changing a person's will.
"You know I have quite a few brothers. I don't actually need any more."
"I have no desire to be your brother Lila." I said back, looking into her eyes. It wasn't like I was babying her, that behaviour was one I wouldn't stand even if she was 60, plus I could never see her as a sister. I wanted to fuck her senseless, worship every inch of her silky body...I needed to stop.
"I don't understand." She whispered, both the tone of her voice and the look into her eyes changing. I knew where she was trying to go with that. Again.
I was an a.sshole for not only not loving her back, but also because I couldn't let her go and I tried to silence her everytime she came up with questions. "What don't you understand?" I said quietly as I pretended not to get her.
She shrugged, setting the half empty glass into the cup holder as she broke eye contact. In that moment, feisty Lila was gone and small fragile looking Lila was back. That was the Lila I felt guilty towards, but also the one I wanted to protect, which was odd because the only thing I should have protected her from was myself. "You. Me. Us." She answered.
I sighed, tempted to hit my head against the seat in front of me, "Lil, we can't go through this again. And not now that we're forced to be together for one million hours." I paused as I reached for her chin, lifting it up until she was looking at me again. Even though the way she was looking at me killed me too. "What if you don't like what I tell you and you want to be as far from me as you want?" I went on, trying to make the moment lighter even though that was definitely something that could happen, if only I ever told her what I thought. I didn't even know what I thought.
"Yeah, that'd be a problem considering the circumstances." She said eventually and offered a smile, making of me a lucky man because she could've taken my words in a different way, and with different I meant bad. But that was how Lila was, she had a really nice personality.
"I like when you agree with me." I smiled back at her before grabbing her glass and downing her drink quickly. Yuck.
She hit my arm, but it was too late already, "Travis! Oh god you're the worst!" She narrowed her eyes on me.
I reached for her and wrapped my arm around her, laughing as I pulled her against my side, "Violence is never the answer cutie." I teased her.
Lila reached out and bit my lower lip, making me growl and kiss her. I didn't care where we were, when she acted like this I lost my mind. My tongue thrashed against hers and my hand reached out to grip her hip tightly. I was clearly holding back. "Travis." She let out a quiet moan and I pulled back, feeling guilty as I shook my head and ran my hands through my hair.
"Sorry." I muttered with no certainty.
She bit her lip and leaned into my frame, pressing soft kisses against my neck slowly one after the other. There were no ways to explain how good that felt. "Sorry for what? Stealing my drink? Or kissing me senseless." She teased, grinning wickedly at me in the way she knew drove me nuts.
"Not for stealing your drink. Though I am sorry for drinking it. It was disgusting." I made a face and she laughed, setting her hand on my thigh. I was this close to tie her.
"If we were alone and you'd kissed me like that? I'd already be riding you fast and hard." She whispered softly, knowing a dirty mouth affected me just as much as it did to her.
"Lila." I growled and readjusted myself in the seat, feeling my jeans getting tighter and my frustration getting worse.
"Or maybe you're a little bit of an exhibitionist and you're picturing me doing that right now? Climbing into your lap right here, taking all of you deep and not caring who saw." She added and I growled again but didn't say anything, my hands turning into fists as she pulled back. "Something to think about during the flight." She laughed as she turned back to her book.
I grabbed her ipad from her hands and got a glare, though it was a silly one since the mood was relaxed again. "Do you really think I'll let you read after the thoughts you put into my head?" I asked, smirking again.
"I didn't do anything." She said innocently, even blinking her eyes at me as she tried to take her ipad from me but I was holding it in the air and she just couldn't grasp it. It was crazy how one second we were about to jump each other, the second later we were trying to avoid a heavy conversation and another second later we were just being silly. "I thought you wanted to sleep old man." She added as she gave up.
"Later." I said simply as my eyes dropped on the screen, my fingers itching to go through her apps and find the one she used to sketch. I wasn't even sure that she did that, but I was curious anyway. "Now, let's talk about something else."
She raised one eyebrow slowly at me, this time her turn to be the curious one. "Like what?"
"Have you ever been to New York?" I asked, relaxing in my seat as I kept my eyes on her. Sometimes I got the feeling that the longer I looked at her the more beautiful she seemed to me, which barely made sense considering how incredibly beautiful she was to start with.
She nodded her head and smiled, "While I was in college." She answered softly, her voice like music I could listen to for hours. "
"Do you know anyone there?" Was my next question, part of me wondering what she'd do while being in the city, other than staying at the gallery and, if I knew girls just a little, shopping.
Her smile slowly turned into a smirk, "Why are you asking me so many things?"
"Why aren't you answering now?" I retorted quickly, my smirk matching hers as that electricity between us got so intense it was hard to control. That was what she did, she made me lose control and I hated it, but also liked it, because it made her different from any other girl.
"You're good at deflecting but so am I." She chuckled, from silly to smarta.ss in one second. God this girl drove me insane.
I shrugged as I broke eye contact, turning my head to stare at the seat in front of me. "Fine. I think it's time for me to nap." I said simply and closed my eyes, but even then all I could see was her.
"I have a friend in New York I'm having dinner with tomorrow." Lila told m feinally and I opened my eyes to look back at her.
"That's nice." I replied, kind of dying to know more but not sure if it was a good idea. It wasn't any of my business after all. "College friend?"
"College boyfriend." She shrugged, playing it off like it wasn't a big deal.
"Oh." I said unintelligently, my curiosity only getting worse.
She grinned at me. "Don't be jealous Trav I'll take you to dinner too if you want."
I laughed, because a better idea would be having her after dinner, that way we could skip the talking and go straight to serious business. Like fucking each others brain out. "With you I prefer dessert."
She rolled her eyes. "Does that line usually work for you?"
I gave her a slow grin. "I don't need lines Lil." I replied in a low tone, my eyes dropping on her legs as she recrossed them.
"No I'm sure you don't." She licked her lips and grabbed her ipad back from me when I wasn't paying attention, flipping to the app I supposed she used for sketching since a second later she took a stylus out of her bag while I watched her closely. "What?"
"I didn't know you had a boyfriend in college." I said, though I was more interested in what she was starting to draw. Okay maybe both.
"On and off. We weren't in love or anything."
"The guy you had a threesome with?" I asked, curiosity in my tone as I tried to imagine the guy in my head. He had been a lucky one, no doubts about that, and if I had gotten to know her a little during the last months I could guess that he had to be very different from me.
She nodded as bit down on her lip, keeping her eyes on the screen as if it was talking to her. "Yep." She said simply, her cheeks turning a darker shade of pink.
I felt my grin getting wider as I watched her closely, loving that look on her face. "Are you embarrassed?" I asked in a teasing tone.
"Of course not Trav, it takes me a lot more than that to get embarrassed." She rolled her eyes, starting to draw quickly.
I brushed my thumb against her cheek, her skin warm and as soft as a peach, "But you're blushing." I pointed out simply.
She slapped my hand away but bit back a smirk, "Stop distracting me, I'm working." She sighed, acting all bothered when I knew she wasn't.
I also knew I wanted to see where those lines on the screen would take, so I decided to give her some time and some space too. I definitely had a soft spot for her art, and it wasn't because I had a soft spot for her too, it was because I genuinely found it beautiful. "Okay cutie." I said quietly as I gave her a smile before reaching for my own ipad and adjusting my headphones again as I started one of the movies I had on the device.
After what felt like a few minutes Lila poked my arm with her stylus, looking at me with a cute smile on her face. "What are you watching?" She asked.
"World war z." I replied as I turned the volume down in order to hear her small voice.
"Brad Pitt is hot." She pointed out with a shrug before going back to her sketch.
I let out a small laugh, "And you say you don't have a type." I teased her, getting back a roll of her eyes as I peeked at what she was working on. It was a face of a woman, a beautiful one too, very expressive and intense just like all her drawings I had seen so far were. "Who's that?"
"It's my mother." Lila said simply, working on her curly hair in the front. It amazed me how it seemed so easily and completely natural for her to draw.
"Ahhh." I nodded since that explained everything and she shot me a look. "She's very beautiful."
She nodded. "Yes she is."
"She never got remarried?" I asked offhandedly, but regretted it as soon as she blinked at me. I didn't know if that was a touchy sujnect or something and I didn't even know if I had any right to even ask.
She shook her head eventually, "She went on a few dates here and there....but she's so in love with my dad. I don't know if she'll ever move on as much as we would all be okay with it. We just want her to be happy."
I nodded again, looking at her with interest. I knew what she meant, my mom was that same way with my dad and him with her.
"Having 7 kids and being on your own is quite a feat." I replied after a while.
She laughed, surprising me with her reaction. "More like angsty teenagers." She shook her head. "I was 14, Josh was 17 and Derrick 18. The rest of the kids had moved out already, but moved back to help out. I was probably the hardest one to deal with."
"Really?" I grinned, imagining her as a teenager, she had to be as beautiful as now only more innocent. I couldn't really picture her as angsty, not now, now back then, but then again teenagers were odd, my niece was the living proof of that. "How so?"
She shrugged. "I didn't take it that well, and with Dad gone that was when my brothers took it upon themselves to be mine." She sighed before shaking her head and turning back to me. "I'm sorry this is kind of deep for airplane talk isn't it?"
I shook my head, always liking hearing her talk because the things that went out of her mouth were either interesting or naughty and I liked them both. "I like getting to know you Lil."
She smiled a half smile, the kind that let me knew she had something else on her mind she wasn't sharing with me. "Okay well now it's your turn. What was Travis Cole like as a teenager?" She smirked more genuinely. "Already a ladykiller I'm guessing....dating all the cheerleaders?"
"Oh yes, all together." I smirked and she rolled her eyes, but bit back a grin, "No actually they had turns, brunettes on the weekdays and blondes during weekends."
"You're not into blondes, give me something real." She retorted with a grin on her face, raising her eyebrow slowly.
I reached for a loose whisp of her hair, twirling it around my index finger as I looked into her eyes, "And what are you?"
"The exception." She said simply and wrinkled her nose a little, making me grin wider because she was just too f.ucking cute. "Are you going to tell me something or I'll have to wait to run into your brother again and ask him instead?"
I shook my head as I thought about what I could give her, which could be anything or nothing. Sometimes when I thought about it I felt like forever had passed since I had been a teenager...damn, I was really getting old. "I was like this, only with no facial hair." I grinned at her, still being silly even though that was something true, only it was a little obvious. She stared at me with a straight face, blinking at me and making me chuckle. "Let's see what I remember...you know, I was a teenager forever ago." I winked at her as I paused before going on, "I was angry and awful lot, every excuse was a good one to pick up a fight. I didn't care if it was with my parents, my brothers, or guys at school, it was as if I had a switch which was very easy to flip and it turned me into a mad boy."
She listened to my words carefully, nodding her head slowly and with a look on her face which was weird and hard to read. "It sounds like a lot of trouble." She commented shortly, waiting for me to go on.
"Oh it was." I agreed, making a face since I wasn't exactly proud of that. But then again, teens were always hard to handle and they always found a way to f.uck up. "They almost kicked me out of school."
She blinked her eyes, curiosity in her look more than surprise, "Why?" She asked slowly.
"I broke someone's nose." I shrugged nonchalantly and she shook her head, "What?"
"I don't know why but I saw that coming." She sighed in a teasing tone and I didn't bother to get offended or annoyed.
"Yeah because I'm a cave man that use his hands more than words." I smirked at her instead, joking and making her chuckle. "Did I tell you enough?"
She bit down on her lips, her face changing, "You didn't tell me anything about girls."
"You didn't tell me anything about boys either." I said back quietly, still staring at her and forgetting about the movie completely. When Lila and I talked like this, the rest of the world became irrelevant. I didn't know if it was amazing or scary, probably both.
"I only had one boy in high school and you've already met him."
I gave her a look, thinking that I should have known that already, but for some reason that episode had slipped my mind. "That guy from the party." I spoke slowly. It was his fault if I had missed a chance to start fucking her a few weeks earlier than I had.
She nodded. "The only one brave enough to go through a beating to be with me." She shook her head, but I smirked.
"Brave man." I commented, vaguely amused since that sounded insane to me. Her brothers sounded like bullies.
"Sometimes I wish I'd had sisters instead." She fake pouted.
"A whole family of girls who look like you? The male population wouldn't be able to survice that." I teased but I also thought that it'd be great. Lila was gorgeous and Colby was too, even if in a different way.
"Stop that." She smirked, shaking her head at the deserved compliment.
"So...." I trailed off and she shot me a look. "He was your first."
She shook her head. "Actually no." I raised my brow and she shrugged. "Riley and I dated off and on in high school, but after my junior year I went on a study abroad trip to London. Lost my virginity there."
"Interesting." I commented shortly.
"Why when was your first?" She smirked. "And if you say it was the head cheerleader I'll never stop teasing you about it."
"She might have been a cheerleader." I thought about it, trying to remember more details about the girl when truth was I couldn't really. I remembered her face, her gloriously naked body riding me slowly, her dark hair framing her face and grazing her firm breasts...her name was Lucy. That was all.
"Did you even know her?" She asked slowly, breaking into my thoughts and giving me a look that screamed I'm about to judge you. If there was something I really disliked about Lila was when she judged me.
I nodded and snorted, "Of course I did. She was friends with my brother."
"Jackson?" She asked, eyebrow raised and curiosity into her green eyes.
"No, Adam." I asnwered flatly, not wanting to answer to any more questions because I could already see that it wasn't taking anywhere good.
She blinked at me as she looked lost into her own thoughts, before she broke into a smirk, "I thought you liked your girls young." She joked, surprising me.
I couldn't help but smirk too, lifting her chin with my index finger, "That's true for you only." I said as I kissed her lips slowly, capturing her mouth gently and savouring her as my eyes stared into hers.
She lifted her hand to cup my cheek, kissing me back just as softly and I was pretty sure she was holding her breath too. "Did you kiss her like this?" She asked in a whisper, her lips still on mine and her eyes refusing to look anywhere but into mine.
"No." I smiled a little at the question, her small voice, the way he looked at me...surely she was making of this flight a very nice one. "I was too impatient."
"Because you're so patient usually." She chuckled and scrunched up her nose as she pulled her head back a few inches, "How old were you?"
"I think 15. Or 14. I can't remember." I shrugged, not even bothering to make an effort either. It didn't matter, there hadn't been anything sentimental about my first time, I was a horny teen that couldn't wait to f.uck and once I had started, well...it had been all downhill from there.
She shook her head slowly, looking at me weird, "The more you talk about it the less romantic it sounds."
I raised one eyebrow, "Because yours was all roses and serenades?" I asked, not that I was really interested. The past was just the past, and something like that rarely influenced your whole life, though I was surprised she hadn't given her virginity to that brunette version of Ken doll she called her best friend.
"Ha!" Lila laughed at my sarcastic words. "No." She replied before turning back to her sketching.
"No?" I pressed, never liking short answers unless they came out from my own mouth.
Her lips tilted upwards into a smirk. "Are you curious?" She teased me.
I shrugged non-chalantly, because that was definitely not curiosity. I just like hearing her talk, I liked talking to her too, it was easy and something I wasn't used to, not with girls. "You brought it up." I pointed out.
She laughed again, this time shaking her head as she crossed her legs and her calf brushed up against mine. "You did actually. But I'll humor you." She winked and I rolled my eyes, though I didn't point out that she was wrong. She was too stubborn anyway and I'd rather save my breath. "It was less romantic than it was "let's just get this over with." She admitted. "It was a one night stand, but hey at least he had a sexy accent right?"
I glanced at her and at her joke, wondering if she ever regretted that or anything. For what I knew girls gave a higher value to their first time than boys did and I had proved that with my own hands. "You gave your virginity to a one night stand?" I questioned, beyond surprised since she had always said to me that she didn't do one night stands.
"Well it wasn't like boys were breaking down the door at home! I couldn't be little innocent Lila who's brothers will beat you up if you get near her for forever. And stop judging me! You didn't even remember the name of your first and I didn't judge you."
"I never said I didn't remember her name. And you judged me a little." I retorted, having a point and a good one too.
She smirked and shook her head. "The only time I judge you is when you smoke. And that's for good reason." She said seriously and I forced myself not to groan. Everyone had bad habits, that was mine. "Or maybe when you turn me down to do things like work or coach boys teams....so silly." She teased me and this time I laughed instead.
"How you manage to piss me off and amuse me at the same time is a damned miracle." I admitted, shaking my head as I moved my eyes on her ipad screen. Wow, how could she be so fast? "You have your mothers smile." I commented as he nodded towards her ipad.
"I do." She agreed with a nod. "But my fathers eyes."
"You have beautiful eyes." I commented nonchalantly because she had to know that already, but she blushed at the compliment anyway as she turned her head to stare at me. She was smirking in a way that clashed with her dark pink cheeks.
"Yours aren't bad either." She said back and bit down on my lip, studying my face shamelessly and I let her. "Do you look more like your dad? Or your mom?" She asked after a few seconds of silence, not an awkward one though.
I shrugged since I couldn't really tell, neither I paid too much attention to that. "I'm a mix I guess." I answered simply, watching her sliding her finger on her ipad and causing the drawing to disappear, a blank page replacing it. "Why did you erase it?" I asked with my brows furrowed.
She chuckled, "I didn't. I needed a new page." She explained in an amused tone before boring her eyes into mine again, "You were talking about your mother though, don't let me distract you."
"Nice try, I wasn't talking about her." I smirked at her serious face, giving up on watching my movie because I had something more interesting to look at. Plus, she couldn't stop talking, not that I was complaining. On the contrary, it was really relaxing.
She glanced at her ipad as she started drawing again, but I was too busy looking at her face, "I was trying to picture her in my head." She said simply.
"Why?" I asked quietly, my body finally relaxing completely because I knew we had been together enough to be safe on that plane. There wouldn't be fights, arguments or anything, we'd be just us.
"I'm curious." She glanced at me, staring a few seconds before breaking eye contact, "Where do you get your colors from?"
"My mom. My dad is basically bald, I can't thank him for my amazing hair." I winked at her, making her laugh at my silly words.
She tossed her head back, looking so damn cute, "Oh god I can't really picture you bald!" She chuckled.
"He's still a good looking man you know." I said back as I grinned, glancing down at her ipad and freezing when in her drawing I recognized my eyes. There wasn't anything else, just my eyes. What the fuck...I hadn't even noticed she had drawn that much. Her gaze follwed mine and she bit down on her lip, looking guilty. "I'm speechless." I said eventually, surprised in so many ways.
She open and closed her mouth a few times before speaking, "I take it as a good sign." She went for the silly road, winking at me but still blushing.
"Yeah, but no more drawing me." I muttered under my breath, feeling weird. This was so f.ucking weird. Was that how I looked at her? Godd.amn.
"Okay." She blushed some more and flipped her ipad sleeve closed before putting it away and giving me a smile, "What now?"
I took a deep breath, then smiled when she yawned, "I think it's nap time for the baby." I teased her though she mostly looked adorable. And young. What was new.
She nodded and reached for my wrist, lifting my arm up and adjusting her body against my side before wrapping my arm around her shoulders. "Good idea." She said seriously and I laughed. She killed me.
I held her tight, letting her rest her head against my chest as I tilted my own head down to kiss her cheek, "You're too cute Lil."
