I glanced sideways at Seb who kept looking in the rear view mirror, his nerves showing on his face. I'd told him a million times that he didn't have to come with me and the girls to Disneyland, but of course he had insisted on it and still kept doubting himself or that we could handle it. Reaching for his hand that wasn't holding the steering wheel, I gave it a squeeze. "We'll survive," I said quietly with a small smirk on my lips.
"If we don't get deaf first," He forced himself to grin back at me, nodding to our older niece who kept singing no matter if the song was over.
I smirked wider as he parked the car, leaning into him to press a quick kiss on his cheek before getting out of the car, "Go to Jules, I'll take Haylie."
He let out a sigh and did as told, walking to the other side of the car and opening the door for Jules. "Here we are," He told her with a smile while I unbuckled the seatbelt to Haylie's carseat.
"Finally," Jules said back with a sassy expression on her face as she jumped out of the car, making Seb raise one eyebrow.
"Are you ready little cutie?" I asked Haylie with a smile and she nodded, already wearing Mickey ears from the last time her parents brought her here.
"Mickey Minnie!!" She chanted, like she'd been doing for most of the car ride. I honestly didn't know how parents did it... put up with a lot of shit that the average person would find annoying. The girls were really cute though, I'd give them that.
"Mm, Mickey Minnie," I agreed with her and lifted her out of the seat, holding her against me, having an internal battle with myself on whether we should bring the stroller or not. My arms were going to give out if I ended up having to carry her all day. "Seb will you pop the trunk and get the stroller out?" I asked, grabbing her sweater off the seat for later.
"Yeah," He replied and lifted the beast of a stroller out of the back, closing the trunk and staring at it. "Do you know how to set it up?"
"It should just unfold..." I trailed off and wrinkled my nose, looking at Haylie who was watching us with a smile.
"I want to meet Elsa from Frozen," Jules told us, still holding onto Seb's hand.
I smiled at her and set Haylie on her feet beside them, messing around with the stroller until our little human could fit inside of it safely, "Alright! We're ready to go!" I said with enthusiasm after a few minutes, setting her inside of it and grinning as she kicked her feet happily.
Seb sighed as he started walking toward the entrance, Jules marching with him triumphantly while I smiled at the two of them and how dramatic my husband could be sometimes. After buying the tickets we finally stepped into the park and all of us stopped, the girl's eyes on Seb while he looked around uncomfortably. "What you girls want to do first?" He asked finally, since princesses and magic weren't his things.
"I want to see the castle!" Jules was the first to answer, pointing her tiny fingers in the air and both Seb and I followed it to see what she was talking about. It was the Disney castle you saw everywhere but I really had no idea of what there could be inside.
I smirked at her, "Do you know from what fairytale is it from?" Our niece shook her head and looked at me as if I could explain to her the meaning of life. "The sleeping beauty!" I added enthusiastically, pretty excited myself to be here.
The little girl frowned, "I don't know that one." She said seriously before turning to my man, "Sebby can you read it to me tonight?"
"Of course cutie," He smiled at his niece, perfectly aware that she'd probably fall asleep by the time we'd take them back home but I knew that she wouldn't forget so one day or another he'd have to keep his promise.
In that moment Haylie cut into the conversation, "Choo choo!" She exclaimed loud, getting our attention.
"I want to go on the train!" Jules said as soon as we realized that the baby's excitement was due to the silly train which was approaching the square in front of the castle.
Seb glanced at me, looking hopeless and cute. The girls were different ages and one of them was in a stroller at the moment. "I say that since aunt Aria's already been here she decides. Plus she was a princess before becoming a queen so she knows everything about castles and magic," He smirked at me, letting me be in charge since he wasn't interested in leading two little girls.
"I say we all go on the train," I smirked at Seb who looked like he'd rather stand around and watch the stroller. Luckily for us, every ride had its very own stroller parking lot. "We can leave the stroller off to the side," I added before my husband had the chance to offer sticking behind to watch our things. It was Disneyland and no one was going to touch a stroller, not when there were a million kids and families around.
"Have you ever been on a train?" Jules asked Seb as she gave his hand a tug in the direction of the strollers.
"A real one, yes," He replied.
She wrinkled her nose and kept looking at him as if she were studying his face. "Is that one not real?" She asked eventually, still staring at him while I parked the strolled between another two and lifted Haylie out, keeping her in my arms. My arms were going to get a workout today.
"No," He replied honestly, catching the look I was giving him.
"It's a magic train instead!" I smiled at her with wide eyes, watching as both of the girls faces lit up with excitement.
Jules looked up at her uncle again and smiled, "I want to sit by you."
He smiled back at her and I swear that my heart melted at how cute the two of them were together. "I wouldn't have it any other way," He replied and lifted her up into his arms, climbing on the train and setting her beside him while I sat down on the other side, Haylie tucked in next to me. "Make sure you hold on," He added and she nuzzled his side, holding onto him instead of the railing in front of us.
I let out a soft laugh and smiled at Seb, "This is my first train ride."
He raised one eyebrow as he looked at me, doubting that it really was. "Your first magical train ride?" He asked and for a moment he ignored his nieces in favor of focusing on me.
"Yes," Jules answered instead, wrinkling her nose as the train started moving.
I let out a small laugh, and Seb was smirking himself for how cute the little girl was. "I think that uncle Sebby was talking to me cutie," I said softly but my amused face was still in place.
"Didn't dad take you here?" He asked and his eyes were back on Jules who was sporting an innocent face which didn't fit her that much. For what I knew she wasn't a bad kid, but there was no kid on earth who was completely innocent.
"Dad train," Haylie cut into the conversation, giving us a serious look and moving her hands as if she was trying to explain to us how the world worked.
I poked her side and made her giggle, "Is your dad a train?" I asked, both Jules and Seb chuckling.
"No!" Haylie answered shaking her head and holding onto me tighter when the train sped up, her cute face looking a little worried.
Jules instead, didn't seem to be fazed at all. Pointing to the castle we could see on our right, she looked up at my husband, "I want to go there next."
He glanced at the castle and looked confused, "Whose is that?"
"Cinderella's castle," She answered solemnly, looking back at us, "She's my favorite."
"I thought I was," I said back with a fake frown.
"But uncle Sebby said you're not a princess...you're my favorite queen aunt Aria!" Jules explained and gave me a big smile that made me melt.
"Thank you Princess Jules," I smiled back at her and her mouth fell open for a moment before her huge smile returned.
Her head rocked back to look up at her uncle, "Did you hear that Uncle Sebby? Aunt Aria said that I'm a princess!"
"Me too!" Haylie added, still clinging onto me.
"We need Minnie ears with tiaras," Jules told her sister while me and Seb exchanged glances. It was going to be a long day and a pricey one too. "And I want to bring mom and dad a present!"
I tore my gaze from my man's and looked back down at the little girl cuddled up to him, "What do you want to get them?"
"A stuffed animal," She said with a big grin. "A huge one that Uncle Sebby will have to carry because it'll be too big for even you to carry!"
He broke into a laugh and shook his head, "What will your mom do with a stuffed animal that big?"
"Daddy won't let us have a dog, so we can pretend the stuffed animal is our pet," She wrinkled her nose but had a mischievous grin on her face.
"Your dad would love that," Seb told her, still grinning at his niece while I watched the two of them, wondering why he was so good with the girls when he had literally no experience with kids.
She nodded her head at him, "Can I have a stuffed animal too? I want Ariel."
"I thought Cinderella was your favorite," I lifted an eyebrow at her.
She shrugged her shoulders, "I love all of the princesses."
He stopped paying attention to the biggest girls and focused on Haylie who seemed to confuse the hell out of him. The train came to a stop and he broke out of his daze, realizing that all the girls were looking at him and waiting for him to do something, or say something, "If you'll be good, you'll have your Ariel," He said eventually as he helped all of us out the train, one by one, saving a special treatment for me by giving me a quick kiss.
"I'm always good," Jules retorted, sporting a serious face that killed me a little.
I glanced at Seb then back at the little girl, "Do you think that if I'll be good, uncle Sebby will get me an ice cream?" I gave her a small smirk while Seb adjusted Haylie back in the stroller.
"Me too ice cream Seby!" His youngest niece cut in the conversation, looking as if she was set on that idea now and wouldn't take a no as an answer.
"Thank you," He muttered to me as he stood back up, "What if I'm good instead? What will I get?"
"You can choose between ice cream and a stuffed animal," Julie answered then started giggling, even covering her mouth as if she couldn't help herself.
He poked her nose and smiled, "Hilarious cutie." He commented while already looking like he was busy at making his plans, "What do you girls want to do now?"
I lifted my eyebrow since his eyes were on me and I had no idea what to do next. The train had been such a short ride and my guess was that the other rides would be short too, only with long lines. "Let's get ears!" I said with a big smile, moving my gaze back and forth between the girls to get them on board with the plan. As much as I hated standing in a long line? Seb was seriously going to loathe it. "And we'll grab a few fastpass tickets on the way so we won't have to stand in a million lines forever."
"Good idea," He replied, probably having done research and knowing that getting fastpass tickets would come in handy.
"Can we go on all of the rides?" Jules asked while we walked past a few little kid rides, Seb grabbing the correct tickets for them so we could come back later.
I smiled at her as she slipped her hand into mine, "As long as all of us can go on them."
She nodded knowingly, "Haylie might be too small for some of the rides... me too. Even if I'm a big girl," She added with a shrug.
"Well those ones are too scary anyways," I told her with a small frown. "Even I'm afraid of them."
Her eyes widened before she turned her face to Seb who was pushing Haylie in the stroller, "Are you afraid too??"
He shook his head, offering a smirk to the little girl, "I'm afraid of nothing." .
Jules looked at him with wide eyes then looked back at me, "Is it true aunt Aria?" She asked, as if she didn't believe him.
I shot my so called fearless husband a smirk before answering to Jules, widening my eyes myself, "Yes. Once he even swam with sharks!"
"They could eat you!" Jules said back and ran to him to wrap her arms around his leg, stopping him from walking further as she looked up at him with her big gorgeous eyes, "I don't want Uncle Sebby to die!"
He grinned, running his fingers through her hair gently, "I'm alive little girl."
"Nothing or no one can stop your Uncle," I smirked at our niece then smirked wider when Jules tried to climb on his leg and he had to pick her up, leaving the stroller to me again while Haylie looked at us completely unfazed.
"Only aunt Aria can," He said in a teasing tone as he glanced at me, me sticking my tongue out at him.
Jules laughed and nuzzled him while looking at me for confirmation. "I'm the queen of everything," I said with a shrug before winkling at her and grinning.
"Aunt Aria the queen of everything!!" She dubbed me and I laughed.
"It has a ring to it," I nodded my head and looked down at Haylie. "What do you think cutie?"
"Princess Haylie!" She joined the conversation and clapped enthusiastically. I smiled at her and looked at Seb who still had Jules in his arms, a smile on his face while the little girl told him a story about her first week of school. It amazed me how we could handle kids... then again, it was different when they weren't your own and you were related to them. "Ears!! Minnie!!" She broke me out of my daze and I lead the way in the direction of where the tiny finger was pointing.
"Which ones do you like?" I asked her after bending down to her level, grabbing the pink sparkly ones she was staring at.
She made a grabby gesture back and smiled when I put them on her head, "These please!!"
Seb put Jules back on her feet and watched her try on a few pairs. "Where are yours?" He grinned at me.
"Where are yours instead?" I smirked, trying to picture Seb wearing ridiculous Mickey Mouse ears.
He took advantage of the moment to wrap his arm around my shoulders and pull me against is side for a quick kiss since both of the little girls were too busy with their ears to pay us any attention. "Nowhere. I'm no mickey mouse," He said against my lips and grinned, staring down into my eyes that would always be his greatest weakness. That and my ass.
"I'm no Minnie mouse either," I said back as my smirk matched his, my hand set on his chest gently. "But since I'm silly I might get a pair of ears anyway."
"That's because you're cute," He kept grinning, then we both pulled away from each other when Jules started tugging at our clothes.
She raised a crown towards me, it being sparkly and borderline ridiculous with all that glitter and a bunch of feathers too, but still cute. "This is for you!"
I looked down at our niece and smiled big as I took the tiara from her hand, thinking about how adorable she was. "No ears for me?" I asked softly and wore the crown.
Jules shook her head and Haylie clapped her hands again, "Queen Aria!" She said in her tiny voice.
"Let's take a picture," Seb announced as he freed Haylie from her stroller once again, setting her on her feet while I bent on my knees to level the little girls who were already hugging me, one for each side. "Perfect," He grinned, snapping the picture before slipping the phone into his jeans pocket.
"I want to see it!" Jules protested as the hug was broken.
"Later," He said quietly, then his eyes moved to Haylie who was walking a little weird, doing what looked like the pee pee dance. "What's wrong?" Seb asked slowly, more to me than to the little girl.
Haylie frowned, "I have to pee."
I checked her pants to make sure they weren't wet and the swooped her up into my arms, glancing at Seb who looked beyond uncomfortable at the thought of his youngest niece ruining the day by peeing in her pants. "Let's get you to the nearest bathroom," I smiled at Haylie since she looked on the verge of tears and I didn't know how to deal with a toddler pissing her pants and crying in my arms. As much as I loved her? It sounded like a nightmare. "Seb, I-"
"Over there," He pointed towards a line of women, the line looking like it was leading to a ride instead of a bathroom. My lips fell open and I got a sinking feeling in my chest. "I'll pay for everything and then wait with Jules for you guys," He added, reaching for the crown on my head and the ears that Haylie had one.
"Thank you," I said with a quick smile before walking as fast as possible to the bathroom.
"I want my ears," Haylie pouted up at me, her lips starting to quiver.
"Uncle Sebby has to pay for them. After you pee, you can have your ears," I grinned at her as wide as I could.
She nodded her head and her pout remained in place, "I have to pee so bad."
A few women moved out of our way to let us go to the front of the line, noticing the look on my face and the way Haylie wouldn't stop grabbing her crotch. We must've been a sight because I only begged two people before finally getting her in a stall and on the toilet. She kicked her legs and smiled wide at me as she peed then waited for me to help her wipe. I got her back on her feet and then lifted her up to wash her hands, finding Seb and Jules waiting with the stroller right by the exit to the bathroom. "She barely made it," I told Seb in a hushed voice, taking the silly crown from him as he held it out for me with a smirk.
"Thank god she did," He replied with a small sigh.
"Ears!!" Haylie clapped her hands like that entire episode hadn't just happened and Jules was busy playing with a doll she didn't have before.
Seb shrugged when I raised an eyebrow at it, "She asked for the doll. Said she needed it for her collection."
I melted a little and smiled, "No wonder you're her favorite."
"We made a deal," He explained as he glanced at Jules who was adjusting the ears on her sisters head.
When she noticed our eyes on her she turned her head and gave me a serious face. "Uncle Sebby told me I could have Ariel or the doll so I chose the doll," She said nonchalantly, killing me a little for how she talked as if she was a grown up girl. "But I think that Haylie still wants Ariel."
Seb's face dropped while I laughed and Haylie started singing the Ariel song, dancing and jumping around us like a crazy kid. "Don't try tricking your uncle, I did before and it never worked," I whispered loudly to our older niece, as if I was telling her a secret.
Jules put a hand next to her mouth, thinking Seb wouldn't hear the secret she was sharing, "Tell him it's for you aunt Aria."
Seb smirked and shook his head, then let out a sigh, "Okay, enough nonsense girls." He grabbed Haylie and she started kicking her legs, making it clear that she had no intention to stay in her stroller again. "Alright, no stroller for you."
"I want to stay into the stroller!" Jules said out of nowhere, already on her way when I stopped her by taking her hand.
"Us big girls walk instead," I said softly and smiled at the little girl.
Haylie looked up at Seb, raising her arm and moving her fingers in his direction, "Hand Seby."
He gave her his hand, using his free hand to push the stroller, "What should we do now?"
"Is anyone hungry?" I asked the girls who both shook their heads.
"Princess Sofia!!" Jules said from beside me and pointed to a young girl who was dressed up like a princess. I'd seen plenty of Disney movies in my life and still had no idea who the hell Princess Sofia was. "Can we meet her? She's my favorite."
Seb's eyebrow raised up since we'd heard that line from her more than a few times today alone, "I thought Cinderella was your favorite."
"I said they all are," She gave him a silly grin. "Will you take a picture of me with Princess Sofia? Please Uncle Sebby!!"
"I will," He said simply while we headed in the direction of the tiny princess.
"Princess Sofia used to be a normal girl like me, but then her dad married a king," She told us while we walked, her eyes brighter than they had been all day and she'd been pretty excited a few time already.
I grinned at her, "You're far from normal."
She flashed me a smile then looked at her sister, "Don't you want to meet her too, Haylie?"
"Princess!!" Haylie echoed.
We stopped and watched as the girls took each others hands and spoke to the Disney princess while Seb took a picture. "They're so fucking cute," I said quietly while beside him, not taking my eyes off the little girls since I was constantly afraid of losing them.
He turned his head to look at me, giving me all of his attention for a moment since with the girls it was as if two eyes weren't enough, two weren't either, and we had to stare at them constantly. "They are," He agreed before glancing at our nieces again, Haylie tugging at the poor girl's dress while Jules was talking to her like a machine. "But they're a handful too."
I leaned my body against his side as I laughed, "Seb, they're being angels so far."
"That's why I could never have kids," He said more seriously, because I was right. You never knew what to expect with kids and so far nothing big had happened. So far being the keyword. "We better go rescue that poor girl," He added, his eyes still on the girls as he reached for my hand and we walked towards Princess Sofia.
She seemed to notice from the corner of her eyes while she was bent to the girls level, "Mom and dad are looking for you-" She said as she straightened her position again, but cut herself off and widened her eyes as soon as they met me. "Oh my-" She cut herself off again, this time covering her mouth with a hand, "You're Aria Gates, right?"
I smiled at the fake princess and nodded my head, being kind as I always was with people. "Yes that's me," I answered politely, pushing my hair behind my ear while Seb looked ready to escape the scene.
"I'm your biggest fan, I saw all your shows and movies, I can't believe you're really here," Princess Sofia said in an overexcited tone, her hands moving fast until she produced a phone out of nowhere, "Can I take a picture with you?"
Seb took the girls hands, both of them looking confused. "Sebby why Princess Sofia knows aunt Aria? She didn't know me!" Jules asked.
He looked down at her and shrugged, making a long story short, "Princess Sofia went to the movies and saw the movie with Aunt Aria acting."
Her eyes widened and she still looked confused, "Aunt Aria is in movies?"
"Only the best movies," Princess Sofia smiled at me and handed her phone to Seb, Haylie not dropping his other hand. I smiled at the princess who was giving me a nice confident boost, wrapping an arm around her and posing for a picture as Seb snapped it quickly then handed it back. I could already imagine it being uploaded to Instagram then second we walked away. Technologies always worked in our favor and against. "Thank you so much," She said with her giddy tone.
"You're welcome," I kept smiling at her, watching her eyes flick at the ring on my hand then at Seb, wheels working in her little head quickly.
She leaned closer and whispered, "You're so lucky. Sebastian Pitt is so hot."
I let out a soft laugh and nodded my head, glancing at Seb then back at her, "Trust me, I know."
She sighed a little, "I wish I had your life!"
"I've been pretty blessed," I started walking backwards, taking Jules' hand in mine while Seb loaded Haylie into the stroller. "It was great meeting you. Girls, say bye to Princess Sofia."
"Bye Princess Sofia!" They said in unison, waving their tiny hands.
"Bye! Have a splendid day," She said all princess like and I swear I heard Seb snort.
We started walking away in silence while I glanced sideways at Seb, "Princess Sofia has a crush on you."
"Yuck!!" Jules said before Seb would respond, shaking her head fast. "You're Uncle Sebby's queen instead!"
"That's right," He retorted flatly, pushing the stroller and looking in front of him.
"He doesn't seem too thrilled about that," I said from beside him, making a silly face at Jules who was amused to the point she was giggling.
Seb sighed and smiled again at us, "There was no better princess than Aria, so I had to pick her to be my queen."
"Oh, Sebby," I grinned at him, using the name the little girls called him on purpose as my free hand wrapped around his arm.
Jules nodded, getting all serious again and killing me, "I love all the princesses and queens but Aria is my fave!"
Both Seb and I laughed since by now we had gotten that being Jules' fave didn't really counted much. At the same time though, it did, because while all the other princesses didn't exist, I was real and Jules showed me love and admiration whenever we were together. "She's my fave too," Seb agreed and winked at me.
"And you're my favorite king and a very good one too because you gave Aria a pretty ring!" Jules added as an afterthought.
I laughed again, glancing at him, "She already got how things work in life."
"She must be smart like her uncle," He grinned back at me, noticing how Haylie was oddly quiet and wondering if that was a good sign or a bad sign so he bent down to peek at her.
I lifted an eyebrow and saw the relief on his face which only made me smile, "Is she asleep?"
Jules moved her head quickly to look at her sister then grinned up at the two of us, "Haylie's asleep. She can't go on rides now, but I still want to."
"How about Aunt Aria takes you on whatever ride you want and I'll wait with your sister?" Seb suggested and the little girl pursed her lips together while thinking about it.
She nodded her head after a moment and looked at me, "Can we go on the teacups?"
I wanted to groan because I hadn't been on that ride before but I knew all about it and hopefully I wouldn't lose my breakfast on it. "Of course cutie," I told her and forced a smile, my stomach already feeling queasy.
Seb must've recognized the look on my face because he wrapped his arm around my waist and gave it a squeeze, "How about I go on that one and let Ar do the next one?"
Jules shrugged her shoulders, happy alone to be going on her favorite ride. "I wish we could all go on it instead! Silly Haylie."
I took the stroller from Seb and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, "Thank you."
He pulled back with a grin on his handsome face, "You owe me."
