"What?" Ben asked as I shot him a look while we walked down the street.
"I still can't understand why you like tennis so much." I pointed out, "Isn't it a little boring? What about football instead?"
"What about thank you Ben for taking me to the game and spending a little fortune for the tickets?" he snapped back, more annoyed than sarcastic like he usually was. I hoped we could get to the botoom of it today. I laughed and shot my son a smile.
"You know I appreciated it anyway."

"Dad?" I looked up from my laptop to see Chloe standing at the table in my kitchen.
"Hey Chloe." I smiled, always welcoming time with my kids since they were adults now and so busy with life and their careers. "What are you doing here?"
"Sick of me already?" She asked, slumping into the chair next to me. I shut my laptop as I looked at her, she looked tired, her eyes were dark where they were normally bright and her hair was messy at the top of her head like her mother used to do when she was too upset to think about it.

"Mr Lindsell?" I heard a knock on my door as I frowned at my computer, going through the schedule of the press tour for my new movie but when I looked up I grinned as I saw my son standing in the doorway.

“Mr Lindsell, come in." I replied seriously with a smile. Ben stepped into the room and closed the door behind him before sitting down in the chair across from my desk.

Chloe yawned, rubbing her eyes as she widened them to keep them open and watch the TV but she kept nodding off.

“Are you sleepy princess?” I asked, kissing the top of her head. She shook it vigorously.

“No! I want to finish the movie!!!”

“This movie is stupid.” Ben said, wrinkling his tiny nose and putting his legos in separate boxes by color. Even at 8 he was already as anal as his mother about organizing. Chloe? Not so much.
